Advantages: Everything.
Disadvantages: No brush, but no space for one to be fair!
When I went on my huge quest to lose six and a half stone I knew what I wanted to achieve apart from a slimmer waistline. I'd always been big so I never thought I wanted to be a size 10 or anything like that, I couldn't see that far ahead and I'd never been on a serious, committed diet before so I didn't have a vision but I so wanted collarbones as at size 20/22 and 16 stone I had none and I wanted a slimmer more defined face. Sure I did get both of them wishes but I didn't get high cheeks bones! I just had a smaller but still rounded face.
Anyway I'm a believer in faking it so I have a massive array of blushers and highlighters in my kit and I simply adore blusher and it's one item that's crucial for me not just to contour my face but I'm a very pale white colour with black hair and without a touch of colour I look like Mortisha (saying that I get that called out to me anyway!) I own loads and I mean loads and I'm particular when I come to choosing one whether it be liquid, creme or powder. I need the right colour for me but more importantly I look for durability and the appearance on the skin. I suffer with spots, open pores and blackheads so I don't appreciate anything being plonked on and giving them a 3d effect! I also hate going to great effort in putting it on and getting it right for it to disappear an hour later and get eaten by my cheek skin and feeding my pores a hearty meal!
Blusher is a tricky beast to use. If your good you can apply it create a slimmer, fatter face. Get it wrong it can look like your a Red Indian. Its tricky cos I'm sure most of us have applied something and we're so impressed with our handy work and we've gone out and caught a glimpse of ourselves and we look like a clown ( I have on far too many occasions!) and unfortunately the one product that can screw up a whole look is blusher. Though me going out looking like 'I see dead people' just ain't right at all.
So even though I use it a lot I wouldn't say I'm an expert on application so when I saw this one I was full of hope as it unlike any other I own!
So What Is The Product?....
Vital Radiance - Soft Dimension Powder Blush. (Mine I will do review on is called Pink Radiance 02).
The Packaging....
A light shimmery bronze, round plastic case with see through lid with Vital Radiance written in it in small black writing on the front. You can see the product through the 'window'. On the back, a label tells us what is is and colour (as I've stated) and contact details for Vital radiance and the weight is stated, Net wt 0.3 oz/8.5g.
Just at this point I need to add that Vital Radiance is a Revlon product.
So Using It...
Firstly let me tell you about the colours. Yes colours! You have several ways to use this. In the middle is like a sun shape. It's a light peachy pink wit a slght shimmer. Then between the points there's sections. Some are a rosy pink and then alternatively you have a kind of mauve. So it's 3 different colours all in one. If you swish your brush in the colour you get a mix of colours, though you could use a smaller brush and just use one of the individual colours if you so desire.
Looking at the the colours or colour cos it's all on the same level and in one compact they have a very slight fleck of glitter running through them. Not big lumps though I must stress that. The powder has a make up smell to it which is natural and quite nice. The texture of the powder is incredibly soft on the fingertips.
Now although the colours look very vibrant in the compact, when applied (either singly or as a three) they really aren't. Now as I stated earlier I'm almost deathly white and these do not make me look like a clown. They go on very natural. The powder comes out of it's compact very sheer and fine. A brush (none comes with this) doesn't make a mass of powder everywhere it just clings to said brush and not loads of it.
Now I draw a line almost from temple to the fleshy part of my cheek. I use this for colour more than anything and it goes on like a dream. I don't need to keep adding powder and building colour and I did once when I first bought it apply too much and it wasn't a problem to calm it down with a little pressed powder. Use this as one streak of colour or use the darker colours for definition and the light peachy colour as a highlighter it's your choice. You have to 'play' around for your best option!
You can't feel this on skin at all. It doesn't show up imperfections or wrinkles. It gives a lovely healthy glow and doesn't dehydrate skin even though it's a powder. It stays on once applied, the glitter doesn't flake anywhere it shouldn't and the whole thing is none transferable.
Overall...
A mainstay in my make up bag. It has a really nice luxurious feel and I feel confident wearing it. I don't feel like I've faked some health! As you don't need to apply loads this used on a regular basis is going to last me months upon months. The case is hard wearing and is of good quality so remains looking as nice as when I purchased it and that is important to me as I don't like my belongings to look shabby!
Perfect for any woman. If you have greasy skin this will be absorbed and if you have dry skin or wrinkles this won't highlight problems. One swish and your away for the day! I'd say this lasts on skin till you take it off and that's an easy task it comes off probably easier than rest of your make-up!
I bought mine in Poundland but it is available on line in discount stores and places like Ebay and also look out in T.J Hughes as I've seen it there for £1.99.
Don't be fooled by it's tiny price tag that this is cheap crap it really isn't, it's a Revlon product after all!
Oh and by the way it does give cheekbones!
Summary: Use one colour or all three at once. Stategically placed does give cheekbones!
