Rimmel 1000 Kisses Lip Tint
Advantages: Natural strong colour, easy to apply, doesn't transfer easily, long lasting, relatively cheap
Disadvantages: Starts to dry out after a few weeks, lip balm isn't brilliant quality
The Rimmel lip tint pen is an alternative to lipstick which provides a matte colour finish to your lips that looks natural and does not transfer as easily as lipstick. The pen also comes with a lip balm attached to the other end to provide a more glossy finish to your lips
I myself am a huge fan of the Rimmel make up line and to begin with I was in love with my lip tint pen! For my skin tone I chose the "nothing but nude" shade which gave my lips a natural hint of colour without looking too full on. The natural colour was also good for wearing to school/college because it wasn't too bright and therefore teachers didn't complain. Price wise I bought this product when it first came out so there was a price reduction, but the normal price is still reasonable considering how much other brands cost for a similar product! It applied really easily and gave a strong colour the same as a lipstick but rather than the shiny consistency of some lipsticks it provided more of a matte finish. Although, if you prefer a more glossy texture to your lips you can achieve this with the lip balm which gives your lips that added shine. As promised, the colour did not transfer easily and tended to last most of day with a few touch ups required after eating or drinking in order to keep the colour strong.
As I was so attached to my lip tint pen I tended to use it every day which was fine up until a few weeks after I bought the pen. After a couple of weeks the pen started to dry out and therefore the colour wasn't as strong... but to combat this I simply applied a few more coats of the tint. But then the lid on the balm started to get stuck and when I could get the lid to come off the balm came with it... so I could no longer use the balm... The quality of the colour and product seems to deteriorate with time, but that is similar to any make up product so I would simply recommend that instead of using the provided lip balm you use another lip balm such as Vaseline to provide the shine and moisture.
Overall, I would recommend this product to a friend but it seems as if the product quickly runs out so you might have to replace it quite often which can build up expense. The lip tint is available in a good range of colours so it would be easy to find a shade for anyone. I am still using my lip tint but as I previously said it takes a few more coats to get the desired colour. As I said in the title I wouldn't go far enough to say that it lasts for a 1000 kisses... it would probably get half way there and then struggle from then in...
Summary: Good easy to use product but doesn't last as long as the adverts suggest...
