I am a lover of doing my nails myself and I am always buying various brands and colours as I love having a variety. With a 2 year old I don't get much time to myself so I decided to go for the Rimmel 60 second nail polish as I get quite irritable sitting around for 20 minutes waiting for my nails to dry. I was in boots and they had each Bottle for £2.99 but had an offer on 3 for 2 and as I love expanding my collection I was more than happy to pick up 3 colours! (red, yellow and turquoise yippee!)
I used the yellow first and was quite disappointed. I am not as gullible so I applied 2 coats on my toes and thought I'd wait 2 minutes and then it would be fine...WRONG! double the time of apparent "60 seconds" and it smudged in an instant so I was not happy. As it was my toes and I'm hardly wearing open toed sandals right now in this weather I wasn't too bothered. A week later I used the turquoise on my hands and applied 2 coats again, waited 3 minutes and sprayed my quick freeze nail dry spray (which I swear by) and then a further 2 minutes and they were Perfectly fine and smudge free, hooray!
The bottle is a cute little bottle, perfect for carrying in a handbag if a quick application is needed to top up a chip and the brush is quite thick and easy to use in smooth strokes. The nail polish itself is of quite thick consistency compared to some runny nail polishes I've had in the past but I'd still advise 2 coats on the nails to give an even coverage and perfect look! The product is good, just a pity it doesn't ACTUALLY dry in 60 seconds!
I love to do my nails, I change the style and colour of them nearly every day, but tis made it really difficult. Once it was on, it was fine, it did not chip or make my nails all yellow and gross underneath but taking the stuff off.. lordy, that was a challenge. My faithful nailvarnish remover took AGES to take it off and I must have gon through about 4 cotton buds for each finger to get the ruby red off. If I had to chose a long lasting nailvarnish that would survive nuclear blasts and outlive cocroaches, this would definatly be the one to go for. Nut, if like me, you like to change between nail varnishes a lot, this is a big no no. Application was difficualt too because the consistancy was gloopy and thick which meant the consistancy was uneven and becuase it dries so quickly you don't get much of a chance to fix it.
I think I'll jus stick with slow drying nail varnish, but it all depends on how long you want it on for really.
Theres lots of colours to choose from which all look fab.
I know this sounds kind of vain, but I love wearing nail varnish as I work alot on computers at uni, (as I am doing a computers degree) and like my nails to look good and well polished when doing so, I am a girl though so I think I can get away with my vain tendancies from time to time ;)
The point of this nail varnish is that it is quick to apply and dry, and that it takes 60 seconds to dry, I dont know if this is completely true, though I never sat and painted my nails with the stop watch out, my nails did dry really quickly, which is good as I am normally working hard or sleeping in and rushing to class so I dont really have much time for vanity.
There is a great range of colours available in this nail varnish, all your pinks, blues and most other colours are available which is also a plus.
This nail varnish cost me around £3 for a bottle, I think that this is a good price to pay for nail varnish because I dont always have a lot of spare money lying around so this is affordable to me.
When applied this nail varnish looks lovely and glossy, it drys quickly and it also doesnt chip that easily, though I do bite my nails when I am annoyed or nervous and this seems to wreck the finish completely, though its only a nail varnish, not a miracle worker :P
I think that this is a great value nail varnish that drys quickly and is great if you are in a hurry, or just lack patience to allow your nails to dry, it doesnt seem to chip very easily and comes in a great range of colours. This is my prefered nail varnish by far.
I always buy new nail varnish, trying different ones. I decided to go for one that last a long time but also dries quickly, as I always end up ruining my nails before they have dried.
I bought this in two colours, a dark red and a bold purple. There was loads of different colours, red, purple, blue, pink and more. They definitely had a good choice in colours, and I found two that I liked.
It comes in a clear bottle with a black lid. It is very easy to use as has a long lid, I find in some bottles the lid is too short and is difficult to hold onto.
It goes on easily, and actually looked ok after one layer. I usually find i need to do two layers, so I put an extra one on anyway.
The nail varish took longer than expected to dry, I was sat there for nearly 3 minutes waiting for it to dry. This is much quicker than most of my nail polishes, but is a lot longer than the 60 secs it claimes to dry it.
It also started to chip off after 1 day which was quite dissapoitning. I wouldn't buy it again as I think I would want to try others to compare the quality.
I really like this nail polish, I have it in the colour Red Carpet and Zenith (the one in the photograph next to this review!). They are fairly cheap and can be bought at Superdrug and Boots and other beauty stores. They really do dry in 60 seconds, but I find I need more than 1 coat for a strong, streak free colour. If you do not apply a clear base coat under the darker colours in this line, they will slightly stain the nail bed (not pretty), so I usually apply a clear coat, then 2 coats of colour, then another clear coat to finish. These polishes last around 3 days before chipping for me, and I find them quite difficult to remove with nail polish remover. The polish doesn't separate out in the bottle or dry up too quickly, and a large variety of colours and finishes are in this range - shimmer, glitter, gloss, matte etc.
I like painting my nails and I look for nail varnishes that firstly, dry quickly, secondly, come in great colours and thirdly lasts a few days. I like them to dry quickly as I'm so impatient, if it takes too long then I usually smudge them by accident. I'm glad to say, this nail varnish does dry very quickly, it claims to dry in 60 seconds, this is a slight lie, it's more like 2 minutes which is still fast enough for me.
This nail varnish comes in a lot of amazing colours from natural pinks and peaches to really bright purples and blues. There's a shade perfect for every occassion and outfit, so I'm sure everyone will find what they're looking for. The bottle is quite small and there's not a lot of liquid but it has a nice lid and the brush is so easy to hold and allows you to easily apply the nail varnish evenly. The bottle is see-through so you can see the colour ans the lid is glossy black for a stylish finish.
When you first open the bottle your hit by a very strong smell which does begin to fade during your application, it's not a terrible smell but it's one that will catch you by surprise as it's very sharp. The varnish itself is thin making it easy to apply, however for a more intense colour, I find sometimes you need two coats which isn't good value for money when the bottle is so small.
On a plus side and third on my list of a perfect nail varnish is that it lasts. I wore it for 4 days without a single chip but as soon as a small chip does appear unfortunately the rest comes away very easily, that's what I found. Having said this, strangely enough it's very hard to remove with nail varnish remover, instead of it coming away on the pad, it sort of spreads around causing a bit of a stain. This wastes more of your nail varnish remover than you'd normally use which makes this product even more expensive.
I'd use this nail polish again but it wasn't a favourite of mine and at £4.99 it seems like a bargain but it gets used so quickly it's not worth it. Then because it's so hard to remove, I used so much more nail varnish remover that I had to buy a new bottle and that was an extra £2.99. I still love Rimmel make-up though, especially their mascara and so their nail polish won't put me off buying their other great products.
I have always gone looking for the quickest drying nail varnish and it seems that this varnish does just that.
On entering a store that stocks this and looking at the shelves you'll be met by an array of colours everything from the natural looking peach upto the brightest colours you'll ever see! So everyone is bound to find a shade they like from this collection.
The bottle I feel is also quite funky as it is very smooth all the edges being curved with the prominent 60 seconds being written along the front.
The nail varnish itself has a very prominent smell when you open the bottle to begin applying it however this does fade as soon as it is dry I was glad to discover. The varnish is also quite thin, although this made applying the nail varnish a doddle I was a bit worried that it wouldn't produce a good solid colour. However I found that after applying it the one coat was more then enough and within 60 seconds proberly even less the nail varnish was bone dry!
I found that this nail varnish stays put and lasts ages as it hardly chipped at all while wearing it which was a bonus.
The only drawback though of this polish is that when I decided I wanted to remove it, it was extremeley difficult to do so. As if you use the darker colours which I did (red) it leaves your nails stained and it very hard to remove this. However I dont think it would do this if you used the more natural shades.
Overall though this is a good nail varnish which does exactly what it is advertised to.
I wouldn't consider myself a girly girl but I do like to look after my nails, I started buying nail varnishes with not much consideration to their promises or what they were supposedly good for, I was just in search for the coolest colors, which I must say that Rimmel 60 seconds does succeed in. Rimmel 60 has 26 of both neutral and cool, vibrant shades available; it was for this reason that I picked up a pot in the first place, I bought shade 310, 'Red Carpet'.
This product claims to only need '1 stroke, 1 coat, 1 minute drying time' which is half true. Rimmel 60 seconds did dry rapidly, I didn't time it but I would say it was within the 60 seconds which is quite impressive and perfect for busy women on the go.
What Rimmel 60 seconds didn't achieve was 1 coat, 1 stroke....after applying the nail polish and waiting till it was dry, I noticed how patchy and uneven the finish was, unsatisfied, I attempted a second coat, but the consistency of the polish is runnier then usual and I got into quite a mess with it... so I decided to remove it all and start over, this proved unsuccessful as trying to remove this nail varnish is disastrous...it stains your fingers and I used up about a quarter of nail polish remover and countless cotton pads, it really is more effort than it is worth.
Not only did I find the polish's finish unsatisfying and a pain to remove, I found that it chipped within an hour of application and to be honest what is the point? Chipped nails look worse than unpainted nails and despite succeeding in its promise to be a rapid dry nail polish I found it extremely frustrating and completely not worth the time or money...mine went in the bin replaced by 'wear maxx nail polish' also a Rimmel product that proved to be much more satisfying, takes longer to dry but good things always do.
This really appealed to me because of the quick drying aspect, but I wasnt sure whether this would work, as a lot of these products claim things, they cant live up too.
The price was good value at around 2- 3pound for an 8ml bottle, and its brand you can trust and have heard of, so know it should be good.
The packaging is simple in a recyclable glass bottle with screw on shiny black top. The applicator is a simply brush which fans out into a nice shape so you can paint each nail with only a couple of strokes.
When using this nail varnish I found it could be applied very easily, as the varnish itself, was thick and glossy without being too cloggy. There is a nice shimmer to this nail varnish.
So does it dry in 60 seconds?? Yes it does, remarkably well. After 60 secs I touched my nails, and it was dry. It can sometimes be a bit tacky if you have applied too much, but overall it should be dry in 60 seconds and so you can put it on before you go out, and still carry on getting ready or leave the door, and not worry about knocking or scratching the varnish
The varnish also lasts about 4 days without chipping, which I thought was quite good.
I'm always attracted to things that make my life a little easier or quicker, so this 60 second nail polish really attracted me. I prefer shades of red, or black for my toes and pale colours or a deep red for my fingers, there is a huge range of colours for me to choose from. I was pleasantly surprised that it did in fact dry in 60 seconds, which is fantastic if you only need to do one coat, I find with the pale colours one coat is enough, but for darker shades a second coat is usually required, and the second coat unfortunately doesn't dry in 60 seconds. I also noticed that I'd only get about 3 days wear before it looked really chipped on my fingers, which isn't too bad because I like to change my colours regularly, it seemed to last a lot longer on my toes though. For £2.99 a good little product, especially if you only want the results to be pristine for a night out personally though I'd go for something a little more long lasting if you are the kind of person who wants it to last all week.
I am not a big fan of nail polish. It takes me ages to paint them perfectly, only to come back at the end of the night with chipped nails. Anyway I was having a girly day so I decided to purchase the polish for a night out in pink. Bright Pink
I purchased it from Boots for £2.99. You can buy it in Superdrug for the same price. Boots often has 3 for 2 offers on the makeup ranges which are worth doing.
To be honest when I buy makeup I normally opt for a higher brand such as Clinique or Mac, but because I'm not a huge nail fan, I went low budget.
The colour is lovely, and the colour on my nails was the same as the bottle.
I painted my nails the best I can. It took two layers to achieve the colour I wanted.
The paint actually dried very quickly. I was impressed.
The polish stayed on the house night but by the end of the next day it had chipped off.
It easily came off with nail polish remover.
I still have the bottle on my shelf, 3months later and it is still a good texture and has not gone gloopy. So good value for money if you want it for one night. Any longer then spend more pennies.
I paid only 2.99 for a 8ml bottle of the rimmel 60 second nail polish
after buying my first bottle of this polish i immediately wanted more, i have about 6 shades now.
Most of the rimmel 60 second nail polish range are pinks and purples.
It comes in 26 shades this includes:
Blue me away
Be a star
Wishing on a star

TI have purchased loads of different nail varnishes from different brands, but this nail polish is my favourite and one of the cheapest i have bought. The varnish Goes on and stays on better than any other nail polish I have used. It doesn't chip easily, and continues to stay shiny and fresh looking for days. The great thing about this polish is it dries in 60 seconds, im one of those people who do things very last minute so this product is very useful for me as i never have enough time before i go out to paint my nails as im too busy applying my other make-up or fixing my hair.
The Application is as follows...
It's Very easy to do
I recommend that you that you apply the varnish by painting a strip in the middle of the nail and then two strips at either side.
This nail varnish gives a very even coverage and i only apply one coat as thats all you need the formulation is thick enough for just one coat.
I love nail polishes. But i hate to wait while it is drying. Most of them take sooo long to dry.But now with the new quick drying nail polishes the problem is solved!!
Earlier it was a pain if one had to leave in a hurry , which i always am, after applying nail polish.I used to do crazy things like plunging my hand into ice cold water lol.It was effective to an extent, but i got waves on my nailpolish if i was even a bit careless with it
So this product ' 60 seconds nail polish ' by Rimmel is a boon for all those who like to apply nail polish but do not have the time nor the patience to wait for it to dry. This nail polish dries super fast as promised in 60 seconds!
At present it comes in twenty six lovely shades- i love all the copper shades and there are quite a few copper and bronze shades also some funky purplish pinks, some cool metallic shades and shimmering pastels which are gorgeous. For best results it is best to go in for 2 coats.
Besides being Quick drying and coming in a variety of Awesome colors , the colors remain true after applying on the nails, which i think is very important , most of the time the color deepens after it dries.Sometimes it looks quite different to what it looks like inside the bottle .But this one is a perfect match, doesn't change shades one bit !You can rely on the shade 100 %.
I have tried other similar fast drying nail polishes manufactured by other brands but by far this is the best fast-dry polish available now
i like the quality and the way it spreads evenly without clotting.
the prize is very affordable at $2.49. I have bought several shades in different colors.I love the purple shade called Pulsating and the Funtime Fuschia ,and a Clear shade , and another deep shade Delicious dark which is a bluish purple, and one called Rapid Ruby LOL !
This according to my experience is a real nice product not too expensive and definitely worth the price
I was recently in Boots and tempted by the impulse purchase of a Rimmel nail varnish. Now people who have read my other reviews will know that I prefer to spend money on decent make up rather than end up with something cheap but disappointing which has to be replaced. But I took a chance on this because I really liked the colour. In fact I liked is so much I went back the following week and bought the red colour in the same type of varnish.
The reason I think this stuff is good is because it dries so quickly. I recently went on a business trip and was giving a presentation for which I wanted to look my best - I painted my nails in the morning while getting ready and found literally within a couple of minutes this nail varnish was touch dry and within about 20 minutes rock hard. It does chip in about two days wear -it is only £2.49 so I had no illusions that it wouldn't -but the colour was great, the consistency easy to apply - not too runny as to run everywhere and not too gloopy as to leave brush marks, and the finish had a lovely shine.
For under £3 this stuff is a bargain, there is a variety of colours and you get buy it from your local Boots or Superdrug - I highly recommend.
Owning a couple of other offerings from Rimmel in the nail varnish stakes and not being thrilled or disgusted by them when I saw this particular one on offer for a pound a bottle on my local market I couldn't resist buying it and not just because it's a quick drying one but also because the colours appealed to my eyeballs. Being on a market they were basically rather unusual colours that no one else wanted to buy, but me .... well I like a bit of unusual and to know I'm a bit different!
8ml clear glass recyclable, roundish bottle with a screw on/off black shiny plastic lid/top/handle (thing lol). On the front in white writing I'm told it's 60 Second 'Extreme' Nail Polish. I'm then told my colour which is (872) 'Climax' and in capitals at the bottom of the bottle I'm told it's Rimmel. On the back of the bottle I'm told Perfect coverage in one coat. Dries in 60 seconds and is Flammable. I'm then told some stuff in a foreign language (I don't understand) and then I'm told the product is made in Spain, the recycle symbol is on there and finally the size is stated (as I've told you already). It's a nice enough bottle. Robust and doesn't get scratched or marked easily or anything. The bottle being see through means you see how much product you've used or got left which is handy though granted it looks a bit messy when you've used some out of it lol but it's an ok bottle it just doesn't scream buy me!
Well it's a nail polish and you use it as such! Apply it to clean dry nails. The brush is situated on the bottom of a very short wand which is ok but to me is a little unusual as I'm used to a bit more more length to play with! The brush is quite thick but it is of nice quality and doesn't flake and no bits of 'hair' get into the polish or anything even after you've used it a few times.
Applying it is rather tricky I think. Being a one coat nail polish the formula is rather thick and in my experience one of the thickest nail polishes I have ever used. For this reason you need to be very careful how much you have on the brush because this is still, although it is alot thicker in consistency very drippy indeed. You can gauge the amount you need though so it isn't a huge problem you just have to bear in mind what your dealing with and it is gloopy.
Applying it you need to be a bit on the quick side as it is fast drying and because of this you need to smooth it on as quick as you possibly can. It does go on smooth enough but yes it does go on very thickly.
Rimmel says you need one coat...is that enough? Yes because two coats would seriously be too thick and raise the nail bed far too much in my opinion! It looks ok though even though it is thick (I know I keep saying this but it really is lol). It doesn't cover up and hide imperfections though even though you'd assume it would. You can still see them if you have any so if you have ridges in the nails or any flaky bits they don't vanish under the weight of this though the colour does go on even enough. It does dry in 60 seconds and go reasonably hard and I have a few colours in this range and most contain a subtle shimmer. However in my view it all looks a bit cheap due to the thickness.
It comes off easy enough and leaves no staining and on my toenails I can get 3 days of none chip, no fade nails that stay looking as ok as I got them looking during application. Fingernails last a day or so though if you use a base coat and a top coat you can get a couple of days of none chip and no fade but I don't like it on my fingernails at all as it just isn't classy looking.
It's ok but it doesn't excite me. I'm wary of the thick consistency and it appears thick on the nails and as I said it doesn't cover up any problems on the nail it actually seems to highlight them and if you make a mistake during application you really do need to start over again. I can't recommend it though it's not dreadful!
Huge amount of colours are available in this formulation an can be found in so many places around £2.99 a bottle. It lasts ages but I found mine to go even thicker after being owned a couple of months.
