Advantages: Easy application, quick drying, nice consistency.

Disadvantages: Needs more than one coat for a decent coverage.

I love painting my nails - fingers and toes, all get the polish treatment regularly. Toes are always coloured, I love pinks, reds, purples, blues, greens and black for my toes. For my fingers, it depends on the look I want. Sometimes I go for the "sophisticated" french manicure look, whilst other times I like the fun look of bright or pastel colours or the normal look of pinks and reds.

As I use nail varnish all of the time, I buy a lot - obviously. I'm always on the look out for new brands, new types, new colours to add to my collection. When I saw the Rimmel nail varnish with 60 seconds on the bottle, I thought it might be just what I was looking for. A cheap and cheerful product with a quick drying time (I'm impatient and hate sitting still doing nothing so always end up messing up my wet nails whilst I just do this that or the other, no matter how careful I am).

There are lots of really nice colours in the 60 seconds range. The bottle tells us it's a one coat, quick and easy to apply polish that dries in under 60 seconds. My bottle lid also has a sticker on it informing me that this polish has a New "Pro-cision brush". To be totally honest though, the brush doesn't appear to be any different to any of my other polishes, so I'm not sure what is "new" about it, or if it is just me experiencing no difference.

The polish goes on well - but I do find I need at least 2 coats to get a decent finish, especially with number 800 (Black Out), which seems to need 3 coats. It is a nice consistency, not thick and gloopy - nor is it so thin it drips off the brush. The polish does dry in around a minute depending on the thickness of application, but I do leave longer between coats (say 10 minutes or so) or else I find it chips very quickly.

Lasting wise - well, like all polishes, it depends on your lifestyle, but on my hands it lasts for around 3 days before it starts to wear off and chip. I think this is reasonable for a "cheap and cheerful" product. The polish can be removed easily and it doesn't stain your nails - which is a problem I find with many of the darker cheaper polishes on the market.

All in all, Rimmels 60 seconds range is a good nail varnish if you are looking for a decent application, quick drying, cheap and cheerful polish in a variety of colours to build up your collection.

Summary: Good price for a reasonably good polish.
