Advantages: Glossy and a great choice of colours
Disadvantages: Difficult to apply in one stroke!
I like to paint my nails when I get a chance which isn't often so a good nail polish is essential. I was browsing in Asda when I came across a nice shade of green in this particular polish. It was on offer two bottles for £5 so I also picked a pink colour. I normally use Barry M polish but my local Asda doesn't stock it so I decided to try something new. Normally a bottle which contains 8ml of polish and costs around £3.50.
The polish is described as one minute needing one stroke and one coat to cover. The bottle is similar to other polishes. It is clear so you can see the colour and the brush is described as being precision. I noticed that the brush was a little thicker than other polishes I have used in the past. This meant that the first time I used it I ended up with loads of thick gloopy polish on the brush. The colour I tried first was 'Green with Envy' which is a deep green shade with a slight sheen to it. I have snall fingernails and whenever I buy false nails I have to use the smaller sizes. I couldn't cover my nail in one stroke right to the edge of my nails. Thismeant that I ended up using two strokes which gave me an overlap this meant that the polish took longer to dry than one minute. I also found that one coat was nowhere near enough coverage or perhaps I was painting it too thinly.
I have tried on several occasions to paint my nails in one stroke and I have been unsucessful so it takes about 10 minutes for this to dry. Luckily I have Nails Inc Kensington Caviar which dries nails in 45 seconds and can be used over any polish. In terms of results this polish has a great colour which is vibrant and noticable. The polish lasted about a week for me before it started to peel at my nail edge. This could be because I use a good top coat. I also paint my toe nails and I don't bother with a top coat on them. The polish lasts on my toes for weeks with no chipping so I am pleased at the result. I would recommend with some of the darker colours a basecoat as my nails were left with a yellow hue from the green polish which made it look as if I smoke 40 a day!
Overall this is a decent polish for the price. I didn't find it dried as quick or was as easy to apply as Rimmel make out but the choice of coloura outweighs any negaives.
Summary: Not quite 60 seconds.
