I'm afraid it is time for a moan. I do like to give an honest fair opinion of products, and I will happily list the good and the bad. This product was - can I say rubbish?! - I'd better not. It was not very good.

I really like Rimmel as a brand - great for everyday wear make up and it doesn't break the bank. So I bought this in a 3 for 2 offer and like a fool without trying it I bought two pots of foundation... retailing at around £6 a pot I can honestly say what a waste of money.

I have tried it three times and the pots still sit in my make up box! I know I should throw them away but I just don't yet have the heart to!

It comes in a decievingly thick glass container and only holds 18ml. When you open it you twist to break a seal and there is a plastic cover to prevent the mouse from messing the lid.

You have to use loads and it is akward to load onto an applicator. It seems to slide over your skin and not ever find a place to stop! I applied it and waited and then massaged it in a bit. I then used a powder to fix it in place, a powder I use regularly - Rimmel brand. Initially it looked fine.

I was going to the airport with my partner to visit my parents. When we arrived I did the obligatory make up check before leaving the car. My face was flaking!!! All clumped and horrible. My partner is one of those rare finds where he is never mean about how I look but doesn't entertain the 'yes dear, you look fine' approach to the 'do I look ok?' question. I asked could he notice and he said he could.

I had to buy a new foundation at the airport and totally reapply. Not to mention the embarrasment of looking like something from a horror movie until I got to Boots then the loos!!

In the nature of fairness I gave it another go, I know my face can sometimes give my foundation problems if I am flushed or rushed. I have tried it twice since, once after a face mask and both times the result has been similar. Luckily both times I haven't left the house before it becomes apparent!

It just isn't a product for me, and I wish I hadn't accidentally opened the second pot.

To finish on a positive, this is the one and only Rimmel product I have ever had such a problem with and it hasn't put me off their brand.

Summary: A bargain is only a bargain if the product is of good quality.
