Advantages: easy to use, good price, lasts ages, works well if you choose the right shade
Disadvantages: may not suit all skin types
I've been using Rimmel's Blemish Concealer for many years now & there's always been a stick in my make-up bag 'just in case..'. As a teenager I suffered from a fairly spotty skin on occasions but luckily, now in my mature years, only get the odd spot or two.
It costs around £3.71 for the concealer & it's as shown in the photo. It looks like a lipstick & all you do is unscrew the top & twist so just a little of the concealer shows & apply to the spot, blemish or under the eyes. It's described by Rimmel as being 'a creamy concealer stick that blends to camouflage any skin perfection' & I have to say that it works for me.
It comes in a choice of 4 shades - soft honey, sand, ivory & natural beige & it's worth taking time to try out the testers as if a too-pale / too dark one is chosen it can really stand out on the skin. I once bought one that was far too light, used it over the dark circles under my eyes & everyone thought I was at death's door lol!
Although the concealer is creamy I've it does need to be worked into the skin so I usually use a tiny brush to work well over the spot/blemish but found it works best if you use a foundation over the top as it may dry up over the day showing the affected area up even more.
The sticks last ages because the consistency, although creamy, is solid so you only need to apply a tiny bit each time. If you had a bad spot I'd suggest using a couple of very thin coats rather than one thick one as it's easier to blend.
It stays on for a good few hours & is easy to remove at the end of the day &, although it's not perfect, it does do a good job of covering any redness caused by spots etc &, if used sparingly & applied in a good light, can cover dark circles under the eyes. I've also used it on a couple of brown 'age' spots & it works well here for me.
