Advantages: Hides small blemishes very effectively

Disadvantages: Would probably dry your skin out if you had dry skin to begin with

I have used this concealer for many years now. It is by Rimmel and is called a 'Hide the Blemish' concealer so is effectively aimed at covering up spots and other minor blemishes on the skin. I actually thought that the name of this concealer would do for my headline as it's quite apt!

It comes in a small lipstick type case, if it wasn't for the colouring of the product people would probably think it was a lipstick. It is a beige colour with dark brown writing on it and the lid is the long section which pulls off leaving the concealer in the base of it ready to apply. I personally apply the product directly onto my face. It is a solid concealer stick which you will need to in effect draw on your face with and then blend in with your fingers. I have never tried to use a small brush with it but I don't think it would work due to the solid dry nature of it. I do think that it is quite a dry product and although it doesn't make my skin dry, I imagine if you already had dry skin it might make it worse.

It blends in really easily and does cover up any blemishes quite well. I also use powder on top as well which then gives an even smoother skintone but I like to use this on particular areas first. I feel it works better on spots and small blemishes than under eye shadows but I sometimes use it there too. I have never detected a smell with it so there's no worries there.

It comes in a 4.5g stick and currently costs £4.49 in Boots. It is also available in other makeup retailers such as supermarkets or online stores. I would estimate it lasts me about 6 months of every day use. I would recommend this product but only if you don't have dry skin.

Summary: Good, inexpensive concealer. Great availability in shops.
