Rimmel Glam Eyes Eyeshadow
Advantages: Nice ranges of colour, good quality and smooth to apply
Disadvantages: The darker colours are hard to apply
When it comes to eyeshadows if I ever have the spare pennies I will usually opt for Max Factor or the cheaper MUA range of products but really I'm not adverse to buying different brands if I like the colours of them. Just recently I have been clearing out my make up bag of stuff I have owned for far too long or don't use and this is one I kept as I do find myself using it very often indeed.
I bought this way back from Boots and it cost me £6.99 though do Google if interested in getting these as you can find them cheaper than that online.
The quads come in a few different colour options all with 4 colours within them of course. I have found 8 varities of compacts and I went for the 'Modern Blue' quad compact which is actually the one you can see the photograph of at the top of this page. It is also available in greens, pinks and browns and the colours appear to match each other really very well indeed as do mine.
The compact is simple. Its mainly black plastic with a flip top see through plastic lid to the top of it simply telling us that it is Rimmel London than on the base of it the colour is stated along with what it is and contact details for Rimmel are clearly given. Inside the compact you get 4 triangles of pressed colours and a black and small double ended applicator which is handy though I have to confess I don't use it apart from using it to eyeline with, with the darkest of the colours provided from time to time and use my own trusty eyeshadow brush usually.
These are dry powder eyeshadows and richly pigmented with colour. In my set I have a grey shade, a purply blue shade which is slightly shimmery and quite a rich and deep colour, a light powder blue and a rich sky blue shade.
To use them is simple and like I say I use my own eyeshadow brush to which the powders do cling onto it rather well on the whole. They are not scented really and to apply them is simple and they give a very even coverage and I can of course build the colour up as much as I want to. The colours all blend well together and with other brands and colours too however with the darkest shades I do find them harder to apply as the powder does flake a little if I'm not careful.
The darker colours do smudge a bit once on if I'm not careful though I can overcome this if I really do blend them well and not too heavy handidly and once on they stay put for hours and until I choose to remove them and when I do it just takes my usual makeup removing routine.
I have never found these to agitate my sensitive eyes at all and I never get bored of the colour options I have in my compact and the looks I can create and all in all I rather like them and think that they are good value for money!
Summary: A good little set of colours for a good price!
