I like wearing eye liner and I wear it on a daily basis. When I am going out for the evening I like to apply a little more than normal and sometimes using a liquid eyeliner gets a better effect. I bought this one but unfortunately it is really quite messy and very difficult to apply. ONce you have got it on though it looks good.
It comes in a little pot. You screw off the lid and lift out the wand which is attached to the inside of the lid. The brush is very narrow but quite long, it would be much better if it was shorter as this would give better control making it easier to apply.
The liquid is jet black and when you apply it you just run it along your eyelid. It is best to do this in one action rather than lots of little strokes as this gives it the best line. It is then best to keep your eye part closed for a few minutes whilst it dries. If you don't do this then the liquid rubs off onto the upper eye and it looks mess.
i find it difficult to apply, it often ends up being a wavy line rather than a straight, smooth one because it is so hard to keep my hand completely still. If it ends up in my eye it really stings too.
It looks good if I ever manage to get it on correctly but it's a shame that it just takes so much effort to get it to look nice!
My other review cut off sorry here's the full review! By far the best liquid eyeliner I have ever used and I have purchased it twice so far. This eyeliner is brilliant if you are experienced in using liquid eyeliner, but not so much for beginners. The product dried matte on the eyes and not shiny which was my main worry when purchasing the product. Although it did take forever (and I mean forever) to dry!!! The thin brush is brilliant for very fine, neutral looking eyes and you can definitely build it up to dramatic cat eyes if you want to. I have had leakages yet and I doubt I ever will. The product I easy to remove with a cleanser, and the staying power is about 3-4 hours which is not that great for me but maybe for others. The price in England is £5.49 (I think) per tiny bottle which is a little expensive I think but you definitely get your money's worth. The product can only be applied once, and if you attempt to do a second layer it comes off (like a whiteboard pen), also you have to keep topping up product on the brush when doing an application. The bottle and packaging is very cute but the writing does start to wear off. Overall it's great and I will definitely repurchase it as it is one of the most affordable liquid ;iners on the market right now and as youve read it does wrk wonders for the price
I purchased this eyeliner ages ago on a bit of a whim, and being as I usually like rimmels products I thought it was worth a go. My usual eye liner at this point was the Collection 2000 Fast Stroke Eyeliner, so I was used to the thin tip and technique. However the tip on this eyeliner is extremely thin and so much fun to work with because of it being so precise! For some reason I tried this a couple of times and ended up going back to my other liner but recently found this out again and thought I''d have another go. I applied my make up as usual and began to apply this eyeliner and to be honest it was fantastic. When you first take out the lid, the tip of the eyeliner only holds as much eyeliner as it should, with NO ''gloopy'' bits or excess dripping off like many other eyeliners. It takes a second to dry however this can work to our advantages when using it to build up over itself. I now use this eyeliner again every day and find it so easy to use, I will certainly be buying more once this one runs out. I have used this eyeliner on its own and in combination with fake eyelashes and it seems to work perfectly both ways. Because it has such a precise tip you can easily build up and around the eyeline with fake eyelashes on, without getting it everywhere. Overall I would absolutely reccomend this product, it''s fast and easy to use and a great bold black. This is also the only ever eyeliner I have been able to apply with both eyes open which is because of the tip. You can be creative with this eyeliner yet it makes it so easy to fix any mistakes. Love! :)
Rimmel make up features a lot in my make up bag as I love their products and think they are excellent value for money. I purchased this liquid eyeliner as an alternative to the eye liner pencil I use day to day. I wanted to find a more dramatic liner to use and had been told that liquid liner was the way to get a more statement look. Rimmel glam eye liquid liner currently sells in Boots for £5.29 but quite often Boots have deals on such as 3 for 2 or buy one get one half price so I tend to wait to purchase until I spot these on in store. The liner comes in a slim black tube that twists open and the brush is attached to the lid. The product name is displayed on it in silver writing.
The brush is a good size to help with precision of drawing the line but it does take a steady hand to get a straight line and I did need lots of practice! A shaky hand will just leave you with a wonky black line and possibly a bruised eye! However I do find the brush to be a nice size to get the right size line, not too thick and not too thin across the eye, this can be adjusted by how much pressure you place on the brush to get different sized lines. I find for a daytime look I need to use a small amount of pressure and slowly draw this across the eyelid to achieve a slimmer line. The liner dries almost straight away and I've had no issue with smudging. The liner is a lovely bold, dark black and stands out brilliantly to give a more dramatic look that also extends to night time and special occasions. I can also use it after I've applied eyeshadow as they don't run in together. This product leaves a lovely sharp line that stands out and I've found it to last all day, whereas with pencil eyeliners I am constantly reapplying.
I won't be making my pencil liner redundant, I like how these give a more subtle daytime make up look whereas I feel this liquid liner is more for when you want a more dramatic make up look in the evening.
I give this liner 4 out of 5 because I still prefer my reliable pencil eye liners but I would still buy this again as it's been a useful piece in my make up bag. It has also lost a star because you need a steady hand to use successfully, which not everyone has.
During my teenage years I went through the typical embarrassing phase of overly thick eyeliner. I had tried many brands at varying prices but by the end of the day or heavy shower of rain I was left disappointed.
When I went to university I had learned how to apply eyeliner to compliment my eye shape and began experimenting with more luxurious brands and also different kinds of eyeliner including gel, cream and felt. I always preferred liquid eyeliner and the sleek way it applies, which is why I always come back to liquid, and in particular this one.
This is without a doubt the best eyeliner I have ever used. The blackest of black, it leaves no patchiness or line breaks, even with little product on the brush. It's recommended only those with the steadiest of hands and an artist's attention to detail use a soft painting brush with liquid eyeliner, however I truly do not think this applies to Rimmel Glam Eyes. I have applied the eyeliner with constant success even with my shaky hands and lazy eye.
The staying power is impressive. You'll notice I mentioned the rain before as I don't particularly feel the need to worry too much about water getting on this. It's not waterproof, nor does it ever claim to be, yet in the English sudden showers it has stayed married to my eyes. At the end of a long day I know I can count on it to still be there.
A bottle will typically last me a month at least, though even when it appears to be running out I know I can still get plenty of use from it - a little goes a long way. And for £6 a bottle in high street stores, who can argue?
Frame your eyes with this product - the value is unbeatable.
When it comes to everyday makeup I keep it simple and I like my eyes kept as a neutral with a pink/ nude tint eye shadow and mascara. But on a night out I like them to stand out and impress. I have never got on with false eyelashes as they are so hard to apply, so I like to use a nice thick eyeliner line to make my eyes stand out.
I have now been using for the past few months Rimmel Glam Eyes, it is a professional Liquid eyeliner that comes in a great dark black shade. Some liquid liners I have used come out more grey when applied, but this has a jet black look to it, which is just what I am looking for to create the look.
I am not a professional when it comes to applying makeup and this brush is great as it allows you to apply a perfect fine line on your eyelid, I have used eyeliners before and the brush was either too thick or too flexible and I ended up with wonky uneven lines and when I try to smooth them out ended up with lines that were too thick and ended up all over my eyelid.
It cost just over a fiver, but if you shop around Boots and Superdrug have special 3 for 2 on make up products and if you need some items any way you can get this for free to give it a try.
I have been using this product at the weekend for over 2 months and it is still going strong, the great think about this is a little of the liquid goes a long way. It also last all night once applied until I get home and remove it with wet wipes, I never have any need to reapply, as with all eye products you need to remove it before you go to bed or you will find that you have big panda eyes and possibly a black pillow in the morning.
Liquid eyeliner is easier to apply then a pencil eyeliner and as you have more precision with the brush you can get closer to your eyelashes without any gap between you eyelash and lid, which is fantastic as the gap really ruined the look you were going for.
Rimmel does say that this comes in three colours, but I have only ever seen it available in black.
I used to use a pencil liner, but for better definition and a great fine line I will not be changing to another product any time soon, as long as they do not discontinue it, like has been done with so many other cosmetics that I have used over the years.
When I first started using liquid eye liners I found it incredibly difficult to do a straight line on my upper lids. The harder I tried to keep my hand still the more it would shake.
I purchased my Rimmel Glam Eyes eye liner from Tescos for £4.99, it is also sold in Boots, Superdrug and a number of other shops. The outside is black with silver writing. It is pocket size and squeezes in my small make up bag with ease.
I use this eyeliner everyday and it lasts for upto 12 hours without smudging or cracking. I like the winged look and I find this to glide on with ease. This black eye liner really makes the eyes stand out and I have been complimented many times on the look of the liner on my eyes. The main reason I like this eye liner so much is it fits in my hand very comfortably and I can get a good grip on it. This in turn makes it much eaisier to keep a steady hand. The brush is soft which does not irritate my eyes like the rigid brushes you can get. I find it easiest to start the stroke from the middle of the lid and work my way to the outer edge.
This product is excellent value for money as it lasts around 4 months and it is one of the only pieces of make-up I can't go without.
Great size and easy to hold
Consistency is thin but not too runny
The tip is thin and makes it easier to apply
Lasts up to 12 hours
Doesn't smudge or crack
Drys quick once applied
Ideal for beginners
No con's, I think this is a fantastic eye liner!
~ Why I Bought It ~
I didn't actually intentionally buy this, as it was part of a big mixed bundle of make-up that I bought from eBay earlier in the year. I didn't really used to like liquid eyeliner as it seemed a bit fiddly, so I just set it aside and I've only just recently started using it as I have been experimenting a little more with my eye make-up in the past couple of weeks.
~ Price ~
The retail price for this eyeliner is around £5 but this will vary depending on where you buy it from. I bought mine as part of a mixed bundle which I paid £2 for all in all so I got it very cheap! I do think I'd pay the full price though as it is affordable and the product is good quality and easy to use.
~ My Opinion ~
Up until recently I only used kohl pencils for doing my eyeliner as they're soft and very easy to use. I decided to eventually try this liquid eyeliner last weekend as I was going out with my fiancé and I wanted to try a bit of a different look.
After looking at some makeup tutorials I decided to do a 'feline flick' as it looked easy enough to do and I thought it'd suit me. Doing a feline flick didn't work very well with a pencil liner but this liquid liner did it perfectly and I was really impressed with how it looked.
The eyeliner is very easy to use and although I was a bit intimidated by the sharp looking end of it it isn't painful to use or anything and it doesn't drag on my eyelid. I don't use it on my lower lashline though as I don't ave very steady hands and worry that I'll end up stabbing my self in the eye! The design of the brush means that it is really precise and neat though and it is easy to build it up too.
I have the eyeliner in black and the black is very rich and intense and it doesn't go patchy or look washed out even after hours & hours of wearing it and it doesn't smudge very easily either. The other day i actually went to bed without removing it and when I woke up it was still there - it was a little faded but still in place.
Removing it takes a little effort and I need to use quite a bit of makeup remover but this isn't really that much of a disadvantage. The formula of the eyeliner is light, smooth and obviously quite 'wet' but it dries quickly after I've applied it and it doesn't flake or go cakey or anything.
~ All in All ~
This is a brilliant eyeliner! The colour is rich and intense, the formula is lightweight and dries quickly and the lasting power is excellent. I'd highly recommend this eyeliner and I give it five out of five stars,
**What is it?**
Rimmel Glam'Eyes Professional Liquid Liner is a liquid liner available in three colours, black, brown and blue. The advantages of using a liquid liner over a kohl pencil are that you never need to sharpen anything, you can get a strong and even colour and a very precise line. This makes the 60s look and the Amy Winehouse type flick much easier to do. I much prefer a liquid liner over a pencil, for these reasons, and I've been using Rimmel Glam'Eyes Professional Liquid Liner for about two years, replacing a Collection liquid liner which is very difficult to get hold of now.
**Price and Availability**
You can pick up the Rimmel Glam'Eyes Professional Liquid Liner in any supermarket, pharmacy or department store which has a Rimmel concession, and also online. It retails around £2, I currently pay £1.89 for it which I think is a very good price. I use the black liner as I have very dark eyes and hair, though I would think the brown would best suit blonde and red haired people for a more natural look and the black for a dramatic look.
Rimmel Glam'Eyes Professional Liquid Liner is in a long thin tube, like a short mascara container with a long elegant 'handle' a bit like a paintbrush. The applicator is a long thin shaft of plastic with a centimetre long brush on the end. It looks very nice, especially for the money.
I use the Rimmel Glam'Eyes Professional Liquid Liner by taking the brush and using it once over the base of the lashes, and once out from the outer edge of the eye to create a little 'flick'. Once the lashes are curled and the mascara is on (I do NOT recommend Rimmel mascaras as my past reviews testify to, however!), the effect is of long, thick lashes. For a more 60s vibe I do a thicker line over the lashes and a chunky, short thick flick.
There are so many looks you can achieve with Rimmel Glam'Eyes Professional Liquid Liner and it's very easy to use. It never drags on the delicate skin of the eye and it makes light work of neat, well pigmented lines. The long paintbrush handle and brush end make it very easy to use (I much prefer this style to the 'pen' style, much easier to use).
Much like mascara, Rimmel Glam'Eyes Professional Liquid Liner removes cleanly and easily with a make up remover wipe or a cleansing / toning regime. I would recommend taking this step to remove it however as it doesn't remove quite as cleanly with soap alone in the bath or shower - you end up looking like a panda and usually covering your towel with black streaks!
Overall I highly recommend Rimmel Glam'Eyes Professional Liquid Liner especially at the price, it's easy to use and it's an absolute bargain which is why it's made it's way onto my 'trusted essentials' list of items I buy and rebuy because I know they are good value for money and that they work well.
I give Rimmel Glam'Eyes Professional Liquid Liner five out of five for being an excellent liquid liner, one of the best I've used, and under £2! You can't ask for more.
I bought this eyeliner as i have fallen in love with the winged eye liner effect, and have tried to do this effect with pencil liner but the lines do not come out very smooth nor are they very pigmented, but this is perfect.
I bought this product by Rimmel as i have many products by them so thought for the first time i would stick to a brand i know. The tube is quite pretty, black with silver writing on the front with the brand name, product name and product information. The lid which turns into the wand is a nice size, not too long and fits in the fingers as a pencil would.
I bought the eye liner in colour black as, as i previously mentioned i really like the winged liner effect and find black is the best colour to do this in. The winged effect can take some practice using this eyeliner as you need to learn the best way to angle the wand and how much liquid liner is sufficient to make a smooth thin flicked out line. You do not need to much of the product on the wand as it is very pigmented so has a very strong black colour, you therefor only need to apply it once.
I have found through trial and error that the best way to apply this eyeliner in the winged effect would be to start from the middle of your top lid and work outwards gradually moving away from the lash line till you meet the edge of the crease of your eye, then return to the corner of your eye bringing it up to meet the middle.
The eyeliner itself lasts a very long time without melting or chipping, so it great for wearing during the day or for a night out. It does not irritate my eyes and blends well with other make up.
Overall i would definitely recommend this eyeliner as it is easy to use, lasts a long time and only takes one coat to apply.
