Advantages: Does what is says, it's great and thick

Disadvantages: The bottle is quite small

Rimmel - I love lasting finish - nail varnish, what a mouthful hey. I wanted a silver nail varnish, I didn't care what brand or how much (within reason) so I popped in to Boots on my lunch break and after looking at all the other brands and finding some dull looking silvers, I came across Rimmel.

I am not a Rimmel fan, not because of their products but because of who they employ to promote their products, KATE MOSS - not a good example, what message are they trying to promote to impressionable girls, use our makeup it's what all the cool, coke heads are using. Well rant over, that's an entirely different review, one I am debating whether or not to write.

Anyway Rimmel had a silver nail varnish - despite the long name I picked it up, and liked the colour, a shiny, sparkly silver (exactly what I wanted). I didn't bother to open it or anything and decided to gamble and buy it. I wanted silver nails, I am not a keen nail varnish fiend and wouldn't know the good from the bad.

I got home and opened it up, great thick silver, not a flimsy nail varnish that is going to be see-through, so I unscrewed the top and tried it, the brush is quote long and thick, great for application of a full nail colour, but not so good for nail art and patterns.

I loaded the brush and stroked it along my nail, it came out thick but not too thick as to run everywhere. It stayed on my nails and I only needed to use three strokes and my nail was covered, I didn't need to keep going over it to even it out, it looked fine.

The nail varnish took about 15 mins to dry completely with no minor smudges or wipes or dents being encountered and after that I was free to do whatever I wanted and it was fine and dry.

The bottle is transparent with Rimmel London written on the front with I (heart) Lasting Finish and the code all in white. On the back it has the quantity, bar code and description.

Rimmel say the nail varnish is:
Long lasting
Chip resistant
Lasting finish
Great colour

I would say it is all the above! It comes in 13 great shades, and to be honest I can't remember the exact price but I think it was around £3.

Although I am not a nail varnish fiend and do not buy them regularly, I would definitely buy Rimmel again (even if it is against by principles).

The bottle contains 8 ml, and if I have enticed anyone in to wanting it, it's code is - 239 Your Majesty.

*******Update***********

I wore this nail varnish all week while away and it did chip after 3 days, and got a lot worse by day 4 and 5.

Also it is a pain to remove, i think it is just the silver, due to all the sparkly bits I earlier raved about, it got all over my hands and my nails still have glitter on them!!

Summary: Great nail varnish, i would definitely buy another, but not the entire range at £3 a head.

I'll consider it next time I varnish mine. Actually, I may have said too much.

sounds delightful, although I'm not brave enough for a silver colour!
