Advantages: Great range of colours, dries quite fast, cheap

Disadvantages: Chips and peels easily, the green one stains the nails

The best thing about Rimmel's range of this particular product is the variety of colours and the price means that they are affordable so you can afford to try them all. From Sunshine to Perfect Plum there is a shade to suit all outfits and all tastes. They were on special offer when I bought them from Boots and I bought a lot! It comes in 13 shades, Bling, Sunshine, Your Majesty, Black Cab, Green Grass, Black Cherries, Azure, Tangerine Queen, Perfect Plum, Magenta Magic, Natural, London Clouds, and Exotica. So there is a wide range whether you prefer natural, bright or dark nails. It also dries quite fast so by the time you have done your second hand your first is ok to paint a second coat.

Now to the bad points. I applied this polish and after a couple of days it not only chipped but in some parts peeled off. It claims to be chip resistant but failed to live up to expectation. It is reasonably thick though and you have to be careful not to blob it on. With the more vibrant shades, one coat is not enough. I tried the Sunshine and it took a couple of coats for it to look like the colour it was in the bottle and it was still not completely opaque. I also gave my friend my neon green one to use for a costume party and when it came off her nails were yellow underneath and were like that for many weeks. So a basecoat is definitely necessary with this colour, although i have had no problem with the darker shades as yet.

Due to the funky colour range they look particularly good on summer toes but if you decide to wear pinching closed-toe shoes for a night the colour will wear off. I found myself painting the gaps after everytime i had worn my closed toe stillettoes.

So although it is a cheap range with a beautiful selection of colours, the reality is that it does not live up to its claims and be really careful if you use the green one! Unless you like the permanent yellow tinge to your nails.

Summary: A funky and cheap option but just don't buy it if you don't have the time to re-apply every 2 days
