Advantages: Pricing, range of colours and application.

Disadvantages: The green ones the joker of the pack.

After taking vitamin B6 complex (on my mother's advice) I noticed my nails had become much stronger than before and didn't appear to snap like they had done previously. I decided it was time for some hand attention, a little hand make over was just the thing to perk me up.

I was wondering around boots one day when I noticed an offer for Rimmels long-lasting nail varnish. The offer was 3 for the price of 2 which seemed a bargain as the nail varnish was already reasonably priced without the offer attachment, so I figured what the hell and bought some. I went for the 3 offer and bought myself the Grass Green, the Magenta Magic and the Tangerine Queen. I'm not one that tends to always go for the girly girl look so their bright, cheerful and unusual colours really suited me.

~~~WHAT RIMMEL SAYS~~~
Hardwearing, chip resistant, long lasting colours for a great colour finish. Choose Lasting Finish nail polish for the latest, up to date shades. Great funky pack! Super Value! Great impact!
~~~THE RANGE~~~

Although I chose the three colours that I did, Rimmel have 14 different colours in this particular range so there should be something to suit everyone:

*Black Cab 080
*Black Cherries 193
*Exotica 061
*Double Decker Red 030
*Green Grass 236
*Azure 19
*Natural 244
*Perfect Plum 195
*Sunshine 055
*Tangerine Queen 050
*London Clouds 085
*Magenta Magic 021
*Your Majesty 239
*Bling 240

~~~MY CHOICES/THE APPLICATION AND OPINION OF EACH COLOUR~~~
As I have only tried 3 colours of the ranges 14 in total I can only comment on what I have used.
1) Green Grass 236.
I chose this colour because I thought green would be a little different; it's not a colour you usually see on nails so I thought it would be a nice bold statement. I was told by a couple of people that they thought it was a vile colour, looking back now I have to agree it's not the nicest shade.
The application was fairly easy, though it did require two coats to completely conceal the nails. I'd say it took at little more than 60 seconds to dry but not significantly so.The colour was long lasting as Rimmel had promised though it did start to chip after wearing it for apprx. 3 days.
Having removed the varnish, which I must say took a while, I noticed that although the varnish had been entirely removed it had stained my nails leaving me with a really awful nicotine yellow like colour which only came off once the nail had grown enough for me to cut it. I ended up with disgusting nails I had to continuously paint to cover it up for around two months. It's fair to say if you are going to use the Grass Green you should probably put on a see through base coat to prevent any staining.
2) Magenta Magic 021
The magenta magic is a lovely reddish purple colour that goes well with most outfits but is probably better suited for evening wear; I bought it for that reason.
Application was very easy; though it did require a few touch ups it did dry within 60 seconds and looked quite professionally done.
I had no problems with this colour; it lasted a fair few days before it began to chip and came off really easily with the nail varnish remover.
3) Tangerine Queen 050
Tangerine is a really bright but creamy looking orange colour, I thought this colour would be perfect for adding some summery cheer to my finger tips and it really did.
Of all the 3 that I chose Tangerine orange was by far the easiest colour to apply. In fact I would go as far as to say that it is the easiest application of any nail varnish I have ever used. It just glides onto the nails so incredibly smoothly and doesn't require any tough ups of a second coat. I would recommend that you have a fair amount on the brush though.
This is such a beautiful colour and I was asked by many people where I had got it from. It lasts for days and is easy to remove.
~~~PACKAGING, PRICING AND PURCHASING~~~

Each nail varnish comes in a 8ml glass pot with an applicator brush on the lid. The brush is fairly slim and of good quality which helps enormously with the application. The price for the product is almost as eye catching as its range of colours, ranging from £2.50 to £3.00 depending on where you shop which is significantly less than most other manufacturers. The product appears to be widely available so shouldn't be too difficult to find.

Rimmel is available at Boots, Superdrug, Lloydspharmacy, Independent Chemists & selected grocery outlets throughout the UK and Ireland.

~~~CONCLUSION~~~
Despite the disaster with the Grass Green shade I have to say that the Tangerine Queen really won me over, it is by far the best nail varnish I have used. In terms of recommending the product I would undoubtedly do so, just don't buy the green lol.
Scary that it discoloured your nails so quickly--definately give green a miss now! x
