Advantages: Long lasting, none clumping formula, lash seperating wand.

Disadvantages: Doesn't live up to its claims for everyone.

I, like many girlies out there, are always on the hunt for the "perfect" mascara. Something that will show off my eyes to the fullest - nice full lashes - clump free and seperated beautifully, long, curly, and well, just beautiful.
I have never been a fan of resorting to false lashes - don't get me wrong, they often look amazing and I am sometimes jealous of those ladies who can pull them off with the right look - I just don't have that confidence and am not sure I can pull off the "fake" look without looking like a drag queen (not that there is anything wrong with drag queens of course, just .... oh goodness, I'll stop digging that hole now....)
*Deep Breath* and back to the product review...

***Packaging***
The mascara comes in a very eyecatching hot pink and jet black tube. It almost reminds me of a thick pen - with it's tapered lid shape, but this shape means the lid feels comfortable to hold when applying the product.

***The all important Wand***
It seems that recently mascara manufacturers have gone to great lengths to find an application wand to suit us. Some are thin, some are thick, some are large, some are small, some have all sorts of bobbles and bumps claiming to curl and extend lashes, whilst others resemble those spiky little ball things you put in clothes dryers to help the drying process.
So what type of wand does this particular Rimmel mascara offer? Hmm, a weird one at first glance. I'm not even sure how to describe it. It almost looks like a dolls hair comb - with plastic bristles just on one side of it. Now, I'm no expert mascara wearer, so seeing what I had just paid good money for disappointed me a little. I was a little worried that it would be difficult to get used to and I wouldn't use it - meaning £7 went down the drain.
I was wrong however - the wand is very easy to use, even for me :o)

So what does Rimmel claim this Mascara will do for our lashes?
Well, 3x lash multiplying no less! Well, here I was disappointed, as it didn't really do that - no more than my cheaper long lash Miss Sporty mascara does anyway at £2 per tube. However, to be fair, it goes on nicely - coating my lashes evenly and the comb does seperate them well too. The formula isn't clumpy and full of that gunk that seems to get attracted to the wand - particularly when you have 2 minutes to finish getting ready and you are still in your dressing gown with a mane that can't be tamed into any sort of sophisticated hairstyle.
I digress.
As a basic easy to use mascara with staying power - this is great. I recommend it to anyone - but don't believe the 3x hype - that doesn't work for everyone :o)

Summary: Good everyday wear Mascara, just don't buy specifically for its claims.
