Advantages: Gives a good coverage and long lasting (although not 25hrs)

Disadvantages: Can make skin appear shiny

I wasn't a big fan of Rimmel foundations but this one has changed my mind. I brought this foundation in Boots for £6.99.

The foundation comes packaged in a typical sized pump bottle with clear plastic sides that allow you to easily see how much is left with an attractive red top which has a crown imprinted on the top. The red lid matches the logo on the front and lifts off easily to reveal the pump underneath. The pump makes it easy to get just the right amount with minimal mess. The bottle has quite a nice design. It is small and relatively light so easy to transport.

The foundation comes in 6 shades; ivory, true ivory, soft beige, classic beige, natural beige and true nude. I purchased the lightest shade, ivory, as I have very fair skin with freckles and have found it matches my skin tone almost perfectly. Rimmel claim that their new formula is fade-proof for 25 hours and able to resist heat and sweat as it is enriched with moisturising aqua primer and mineral complex. I can't say I have ever worn a foundation for 25 hours but it certainly lasts around 8 hours, a lot longer than other any other Rimmel foundation I've tried. I have also tested it out while doing exercise and again was very impressed as it did stay on very well. Unfortunately there is no SPF factor which was a bit of let down for me.

When the liquid comes out it feels quite thick but blends in really easily and looks natural. I use a brush to massage mine in and get a really even coverage. It also feels really light and doesn't look at all cakey. It does partially conceal blemishes but I still add concealer over the top to give full coverage. One drawback is that it can make skin look a bit shiny and so I tend to put a thin layer of powder or bronzer over the top to give more of a matte appearance.

It is easy to remove and comes straight off with the use of a make-up removal wipe or cleanser. My bottle lasted me a good several months making it excellent value for money. I will definitely be replacing mine.

Summary: An excellent foundation from Rimmel
