I'm normally a Boots No 7 girl when it comes to skincare and cosmetics but have no particular allegiance to any lipstick brand as I've never really found one that I'm totally happy with. I was browsing through the shelves (looking for something to make up a 3 for 2 offer) and I spotted this 'Lasting Finish' range from Rimmel. I am always on the look out for long lasting lipstick and with its promise to last for 8 hours, I thought this might be the answer. Rimmel Lasting Finish range ==================== This is a good value lipstick at £4.99 and is stocked at Boots and most supermarkets.. According to the Boots website it offers a high colour impact that 'locks colour to lips for up to 8 hours' and has a smooth creamy texture for 'comfortable wear all day long'.. It comes in a range of colours from Pink Blush to Pink Birthday Suit (it makes you wonder who comes up with these names!) with some deeper purples and reds in between. I opted for the Heather Shimmer (066) which is I what I would describe as a light plum colour. It's quite subtle and ideal for work use when I want to give my lips a bit of colour but still look natural. My experience ========== On the plus side, the lipstick has stood up well to being rattled around at the bottom of my handbag for many months. It's not particularly flash or fancy so it doesn't look like a premium lipstick. However it's light to carry around and doesn't show any signs of wear. With other cheaper lipsticks I've had problems with the lid cracking or working loose but with this one, it still closes with a satisfying click. The shade I picked turned out to be just what I wanted. It has a nice feel - and indeed fragrance - and applies easily. It is very smooth and creamy and isn't at all drying. It has a nice shine and leaves my lips feeling silky and hydrated. On the negative side - and it is quite a big negative given that it is billed as a lasting finish - it doesn't last. I find I have to reapply it every 2-3 hours. Recommended? =========== If you're not bothered about something that lasts for 8 hours then, yes. It's a nice creamy lipstick range offering some lovely colours. It's a good price for a nice lipstick. Well no if you are looking for a long lasting shine to your lips that will last most of the working day. It just doesn't give that lasting finish which it is promises and for that reason I have to mark it down. A great pity that it doesn't live up to its promise.
I bought this in 'Heartbreaker' to wear to my school formal, as I wanted a colour that would match my dress. Unfortunately when on the lips it wasn't a good match at all, but it's still a beautiful bright fuchsia colour and I knew I would wear it a lot It's very pigmented and applies easily, without dragging or bleeding onto the skin around my lips, which some cheaper lipsticks tend to do. It didn't dry out my lips but nor was it particularly moisturising either, although for £4 I wasn't really expecting it to be. Heartbreaker is quite a bold colour so maybe not for everyone in the daytime but great for a night out with neutral eye makeup, and I personally love this shade. The packaging is nothing exceptional but still looks quite sleek and is a nice addition to my makeup bag. The name implies that this should be long lasting but unfortunately this is not the case. I found myself needing to reapply this quite often, nearly every hour, so Rimmel's claim of 8 hours is very much an exaggeration in my opinion. For around £4 I don't think you can go far wrong with these lipsticks, they may not give a 'lasting finish' as claimed but they're still very nice lipsticks, with a good range of shades and I would definitely recommend them if you're on a budget !
I use a lot of make up from Rimmel as it's always decent quality and a price I can afford. One of the products in this range I really like is the Lasting Finish lipstick. This comes in a huge range of colours and I mostly opt for the lighter, paler shades but recently I decided to be brave and I bought myself a bright red one called Temptation (no 166). I bought this for £4.99 from Boots as this particular shade wasn't available in my local supermarket at the time. The packaging itself is quite basic and I don't really think it looks like a particularly expensive lipstick, it's pretty obvious it's a cheaper end of the market make up product but actually the lipstick itself is very good quality. These lipsticks have always been great to apply. They don't drag the lips at all and they don't dry them out wither. It's quite a moisturising lipstick and it really lasts for ages without coming off too easily when I eat or drink. I have read reviews about this brand of lipstick before and a few of them have stated that this lipstick comes off easily yet I have personally never found this to be the case, which is why I keep on buying more of the same range. This lipstick is advertised as being able to last for up to eight hours at a time. I actually think this is a little bit of an exaggeration. If I apply the colour after I've eaten my breakfast on a morning and then gone out to work at about 08.30am I usually find that it needs a bit of a touch up at around 11am, especially if I've been indulging in coffee and biscuits at break time. The shape of the lipstick when new is excellent for achieving a good defined shape once I've lightly outlined my lips with a pencil. The lipstick doesn't feel heavy on my lips and it feels light and natural and just as though I'm using a lip balm, really. It comes off easily with make up remover pads and doesn't smudge al over my chin and make me look like a clown. It's a great quality lipstick for the price and my current Temptation bright red one is just beautiful. It's red without being too over the top. I've tried lots of different colours in this range and they are all great quality, long lasting and well worth the price. Highly recommended. Also posted on Ciao! as basketofbuttons
Whilst I almost always have a full face of make up on during the day I don't tend to wear a lipstick having usually opted for a bit of lip balm or something instead. When I go out on a night out though I do like to wear a lip product and I have recently been looking at darker, bolder shades as the red lips do seem to be very on trend at the moment. One of my recent lipstick purchases was a Rimmel lasting finish lipstick and this is my review of it. I bought this lipstick from Boots a couple of months ago on a three for the price of two promotion when I was buying some other make up products that I use more often. The price of the lipstick was around £4.99 which I think is reasonable enough but it is worth noting that on many occasions make up can be found on some promotion or other at Boots and I do try to take advantage of these. The lipstick comes in a standard looking casing which features a slanted top on the lid which has the Rimmel crown logo imprinted on to it. Around the middle of the casing there is a silver band which has the Rimmel name but to be honest all of the branding information on this product is pretty subtle and I wouldn't automatically know it was Rimmel unless I looked for the information. The colour of the lipstick is featured on the bottom of the lipstick casing and you will find that the name of the colour and the corresponding number of it is printed on a sticker which should resemble the colour of lipstick quite closely. I do think with a lipstick it is always better to try and use a tester or look at one at least as the coloured labels either on the lipstick or online can sometimes not be all that accurate. There are eighteen shades of this lipstick featured on the Boots website and the colours range from pinks to reds as well as some more neutral tones and so I'm sure there would be something to suit everyone in this range. To use the lipstick you simply need to remove the lid and then twist the bottom to expose the actual lipstick. I am not going to go in to lots of detail because I think most people would know how to work a lipstick! The colour that I chose is called drop of sherry and is a deep pink red colour which really stands out on the lips but isn't too red and dramatic either if that makes sense. I find that this lipstick glides on to my lips with ease but I do think it can be quite drying so I do tend to apply a little lip balm before this one so this may well help with the application. The colour really stands out on my lips and I don't like to use this one unless I have a full face of make up on otherwise I think it makes me look quite pale and washed out but when I am fully made up I think this really makes my lips stand out and is quite a sexy, statement colour. The colour lasts quite well on my lips but I do find I need to reapply it a few times over the course of a night especially if I am eating or drinking so that it remains stand out on my lips. I think the name lasting finish is slightly misleading here because it doesn't stay on any better than any other lipstick I have used in the past. I think this lipstick is a good offering from Rimmel for the price to be honest. It goes on well and doesn't smudge all over my face if I am drinking or eating which I have known with some other lipsticks, even ones from Rimmel! There are plenty of shades available which are all pretty much bang on trend and so I am sure there will be one of these out there to suit your needs and you can purchase knowing it won't break the bank either! Thank you for reading my review!
I was waiting for my prescription in the pharmacy the other day, and as always, I started to browse through the cosmetic stall as I waited. I'm not really the biggest lipstick wearer as I'm not sure if it suits me but my lips look a little bare with no colour on them at all. I found myself leaving my my medicine and... the Lasting Finish Lipstick by Rimmel. What does the product do? The product promises to coat your lips with head turning colour that should keep your lips looking pretty for up to 8 hours. It claims that it has a smooth and creamy texture that should keep the lips feeling hydrated and comfortable all day long. Colour Availablity The product has a wide range of colours available that range between pinks, reds, purples and browns. They each have pretty and cute names such as Firecracker, Sweetie, Drop of Sherry and One of a Kind. I eventually chose which is a pinky purple shade that I thought looked really pretty. Packaging and Price The product comes contained within a black tube and you twist the bottom in the usual way to move the lip stick up the tube. It has a black lid and the lipstick is already molded into a slant in order to allow easy application. The product costs around £5 per lipstick and you can buy the product from stores such as Boots and Superdrug, large supermarkets and also from a variety of online websites. Application and Performance One of the reasons that I bought this lipstick was because of the delicious smell of it. It smells like a combination of fruity and sweets. I know the aroma isn't the most important thing to consider when purchasing a lipstick but it is an added bonus for something that you are applying directly beneath your nose. It is easy to apply to the lips because of the slanted edge and it is quite easy to be precise with your application. The texture of the lipstick is really quite creamy which means that the lipstick does glide easily and smoothly over the lips so it doesn't drag or pull the delicate skin. As it is creamy, it does make the lips feel quite hydrated so it does make the lips feel comfortable and it doesn't make them tight. The colour is good and the lipstick is well pigmented. It is a pretty colour with the tiniest touch of shimmer and it makes my lips look eye catching and pretty. The lipstick actually has a glossy finish which I really like and so my lips look colourful and shiny. I do disagree with the 8 hours lasting time that Rimmel claimed that this lipstick had. Even without eating and drinking it lasted a lot less but after eating, it's virtually all gone. It's easy enough to reapply but it is a shame that it doesn't last as long as Rimmel claimed. Conclusion All in all, this is a good lipstick which has a creamy consistency, good colour payout and a beautiful glossy finish. It smells delicious and it is easy to apply the lipstick. It doesn't have the promised lasting time but it is easy to reapply the product so it's not really a massive negative in my eyes. I would probably repurchase another of these lipsticks next time I am waiting in the pharmacy!!
I have just come back from a wedding today and on the way I realised that I hadn't applied any lip gloss/stick so I made a dash into Tesco to remedy this disaster. Opting for a lipstick for a change I headed straight for the Rimmel section as I knew that my old faithul Heather Shimmer lipstick was bound to be there - how right I was. Number 066, Heather Shimmer is a subtle mix of chocolate and purple hues (I'm not a red or pink fan) which I find complements my natural colouring and very dark brown (not natural) hair. I have been buying this shade for around 6 years now and it never fails me for a bit of colour but to be honest I don't find it is very long lasting. The wedding today started at 12 and finished at around half 6 and within that time and approx an hour before hand I applied my lipstick 3 times. It wears off very quickly, especially if you are eating and drinking although it does leave a subtle tint to your lips (I can't speak for all shades). Priced at £4.99 it's by no means the most expensive lipstick but it's also not the cheapest and I'm sure there are longer lasting ones available. Rimmel say that the lipstick will lock colour to your lips for 8 hours but if my maths is correct today, I make it around 2.5 hours if I was lucky. The tint like I mentioned does linger slightly but in my eyes that doesnt really count because the colour wasn't enough to make any reall difference anyway. Available in 30 shades, there is a colour to suit all skin tones, hair colours and moods. On the Rimmel website there is also a "try it on" option where you can try the different shades on 3 different models to give you a rough idea of how the colour will look. Like most Rimmel ranges, the lipstick is widely stocked in supermarkets, Boots, Superdrug and pharmacies where you find their make up concessions. This isn't a bad lipstick to use on a daily basis for example if you are at work but if you are looking for something that can't stand up to a bit more of what life can throw at it, then I would spend that little bit more.
Up until around a year ago I never really wore lipstick and instead stuck with lipgloss, however lipgloss doesn't tend to change the colour of your lips as much as coloured lipsticks can. So around a year ago I was shopping around for a bright pink coloured lipstick in Boots. Rimmel has a wide range of colours available in all of their products and so I thought they would have a wide selection when it comes to their lipsticks too, and they did. They have a few different kinds of lipsticks to choose from as well as colours, these being: 'moisture renew', 'lasting finish' and 'colour show off', but as I didn't really know what the difference was between the three, I was just looking for a nice light colour and didn't really care what 'type' of lipstick it was. I liked the 'Pink Blush' shade which was one of their 'lasting finish' lipsticks and is meant to last up to 8 hours on the lips. On application, I felt like I had to be very gentle as the lipstick itself would bend quite easily, and I didn't want it to snap. It has never snapped and I have owned two of these lipsticks since, but I do feel like I have to be careful when applying it on my lips in case it does. It doesn't leave my lips dry either as I have read in many reviews that some lipsticks do. It actaully adds a little shine to your lips too! The only major disadavantage about this product is that it certainly does that last for 8 hours on the lips. It states that it lasts UP TO 8 hours, but I don't think that it lasts for even half of this. I often wear this for a night out and only occasionally during the day, depending on if it matches what I am wearing or not. I take the lipstick out with me on a night out to re-apply it and I probably do this around four times during the night. It comes off very easily but as I am drinking I thought that might be to blame, as it will be getting wiped off onto glasses. Therefore, I wanted to check if it would last long on my lips during the day, and so applied some before leaving the house and around 2 hours later, it was no longer so visible on my lips. For a lipstick that states it will last up to 8 hours, this is quite disappointing. Another thing about this lipstick is that the lid seems to fall off this quite easily, there have been many times when I have rummaged through my make-up bag and found that the lid is not on the lipstick. This has not been a problem for me yet, as it has never wiped off onto the inside of my bag or anything when I have carried it around, but if it did, then I would not want to carry it around and it would be a one to avoid. On the plus side, I do love the colour of the lipstick and there are many more to choose from when I fancy a change, and it only costs £4.99. It is available from Boots, Superdrug, major supermarkets such as Asda, Morrisons and Sainsbury's. It is currently in the 3 for 2 promotion at Boots which is across all of their make-up, and not just the Rimmel brand. I have bought this again and so yes I will continue to buy it in the future, as I do not mind carrying it around to re-apply it on my lips every so often. However, if you prefer a lipstick that stays on your lips for longer than 2 hours then I would not recommend this.
I quite like this lipstick although I wouldn't call it Lasting Finish as it doesn't last very long on my lips. I paid about £4 for this lipstick which is quite cheap for a lipstick but since I find that not many lipsticks last I don't think they are worth paying lots for so thought I would give this a try. One of the things I really like about this lipstick is the colour. They come in a wide range of nice subtle colours and the one I have is a pinky brown colour and there are lots of other colours to choose from which is good because there is something to suit everyone. When I apply the lipstick it goes on really well and feels very moisturising and doesn't dry my lips on at all. It is a nice shiny shimmery colour and looks natural. It makes my lips feel very soft and smooth so cannot fault it for that. One thing that I don't like about this lipstick though is the fact that the lid on it seems to come off very easily and doesn't click on very tight and so quite a lot of the time I find the lid has come off in my make up bag which is annoying and can damage the lipstick and create a mess. Also the other negative to this lipstick is that it doesn't last very long at all which I find is the case with most lipsticks and this one is no exception but I still use it as I really like it when first apply it.
On a recent shopping trip to Boots I´ve ended up in front of the Rimmel stall again and as usual I bought loads of stuff that I don´t actually need like a new mascara and a new lipstick. Fortunately these rather impulsively bought things turned out to be quite good and although I am not totally convinced by the Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick I will continue to use it until it is finished - but I don´t think I will buy it again. The lipstick simply does not live up to its promise to last 8 hours and although I do like the colour it is not really worth the money. The Rimmel Lasting Finish range is available at Boots, Superdrugs and many smaller retail stores for 4.49 pounds (or something similar depending on where you buy it from). The main reason to choose Rimmel is for me the vibrant and bold colours - this range comes in 24 available shades from standard red and pink colours to more exotic in brown and purple. Fudge Brownie was the one I instantly felt in love with its shiny brown that is perfect for sun-tanned skin. My lips are rather small so I cannot chose a dark red as this would make them look even smaller and pink just does not go well with my overall complexion. The lipstick is easy to apply and glides on my lips leaving just the right amount of colour. The colour is, as with most Rimmel products, great and very vibrant. The brown shade I´ve chosen was softer than I expected it to be and went really well with the nude look or when I decide to use the smoky eyes look - it would just be over-kill to use a very prominent colour. It is quite shiny but if that is not enough for you, you can easily apply some lipgloss to get this extra sparkly touch. My lips tend to get dry very easily and I was positively surprised to discover how nice they felt after using the lipstick even though it is not advertised with a moisturizing effect. So far so good, I liked the colour; it was pricy but not too expensive; now all it had to do was live up to its promise to last for 8 hours. I was quite skeptical from the beginning and unfortunately these doubts proved to be justified. Already after a few hours of "normal usage" e.g. talking and drinking, was the colour so faded that you could hardly see that I was wearing it at all. I was quite disappointed that I had to re-apply it frequently throughout the day when the packing told me that I would not have to do this for 8 hours. Obviously I know that these promises are never really true but I did expect more than a couple of hours. Rimmel promises that the lipstick "Locks colour to lips for up to 8 hours wear. 50% more colour. Soft, smooth, comfortable formula". I can wholeheartedly agree when it comes to the soft formula; the smooth texture of the lipstick makes applying very easy and comfortable even for people that are not that experienced with applying make-up. The colours are rich and vibrant but at the same time look natural enough to give you a nice, classy look and not that tacky look that sometimes goes along with cheap lipstick. I´m not sure against what they compare the 50% extra colour but oh well, it sounds nice in the advertisement. My problem is as you could read earlier that the colour simply does not last long enough. Shame as I really liked my Fudge Brownie - finally a Brownie that I can use without thinking about calories or my diet! - - - - - - - - Would I buy the Rimmel Lipstick again? - - - - - - - - We are all used to these much exaggerated promises brought to us by countless advertisements and many products that would otherwise be undistinguishable. Unfortunately this seems to be quite a common thing with make-up of any type; be it lipstick or foundation. The Rimmel promise that the lipstick would last up to 8 hours without fading is one of those exaggerations - although I absolutely loved the colour I was disappointed by how quickly the colour faded. When spending that much money on a lipstick I really do want it to last a little bit longer than any other cheap product or lipgloss. Usually I am very pleased with Rimmel products but not this time and I don´t think I will buy the Lasting Finish Lipstick again. The results are simply not worth the money and to pay that much for "only" a nice colour is simply not worth it. I can recommend you this lipstick if you are ok with frequent re-applying and don´t really care how long it will last. The colours are very vibrant and one can choose from a wide range of shades that fit every type and look. The lipstick made my lips feel rather moisturized and not dried out as I sometimes had the experience with other lipsticks. However, due to the disappointing results when it comes to how long it lasts for I cannot award it more than 06 out of 10 possible points. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Thank you for reading and rating my review!
I am not a massive make-up type of girl so I get something that works and I stick to it, I sometimes even get something that doesn't work to great but stick with it while what I have runs out. So, after finally giving up on my cheap red lipstick that I use on nights out I decided to try one of the 'lasts up to 8 hours' type of lipsticks and I picked Rimmel after a couple of recommendations. Packaging The lipstick looks just like a lipstick should. It is in a dark red/purple looking case with no information about the product on the actual container apart from the number and colour. The colour I chose is number 175 Signature Red You pull the top off and twist the bottom for the lipstick to come up to be able to use. It is a typical lipstick shape I suppose, shaped to glide onto your lips without under or over-doing it. Product The lipstick glides on great and I found a similar colour of lip liner to match so that I could keep the shape very easily on my lips. I don't know whether I should be spending more money on any form of lipgloss or something to keep the lipstick on for longer but this product is never advertised as you having to do that. The colour is quite a vibrant, rich colour. It just about gives you that 'wow factor' look on you lips but it doesn't last. Even if I don't drink, rub my lips together or anything else the colour fades after a couple of hours so I ended up with rather thick red lines around the inside of my lip shape but not much else. Eco-friendly and animal testing. I am not sure how eco-friendly it is to simply dispose of the product in the bin after use and there is no mention of not testing on animals. I am sure if you went on the Rimmel website you may be able to find this information out but that doesn't help when you are trying to decide between very similar products in the middle of a store. Conclusion I will only keep using this product as it seems a waste of money to simply throw it away but I won't be buying this product again, instead I will be trying a different long lasting lipstick next time. The product is good if you don't care how much money you spend on your make-up but I wouldn't recommend this one if you want a product that works as it should do
As you've probably noticed I've done a lot of reviews on lipsticks. A girl can never have too many! ~Packaging and Appearance~ Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick comes in a basic, simple black tube with the trademark Rimmel crown embossed on top. I thought that the packaging was surprisingly simple, compared to Rimmel's other lipsticks, for example their Colour Show-Off Lipsticks come in a very bright, gaudy pink tube and the Moisture Renew a metallic purple. The shade I purchased was 'Frosted', a sheer nude colour. ~Product~ To get the lipstick just twist the black tube. The lippy itself was very smooth and easy to apply, and the lipstick gave a lovely nude sheen to my lips, and a hint of the golden colour that it was, which was just what I wanted from this lipstick. It also lived up to its 'Lasting Finsh' claims - it lasted a good few hours, much longer than the Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick which I have also tried. ~Value~ Lasting Finish Lipstick is Rimmel's cheapest lipstick, retailing at £4.49 from Boots and Superdrug, which is very good value for a lipstick and it won't blow your budget either.
Rimmel have produced a range of what they call 'lasting finish lipstick' and I shall start this review by saying that it isn't in the least bit lasting finish, so the name is somewhat false advertising. However, that does not mean it's a bad product. The lipstick comes in a dark plastic container, the base of which has a label the colour of the lipstick, which gives its name. The lipstick itself screws up from the base and protrudes all the way to the top so you can use the whole thing without leaving any product stuck in the far reaches of the tube. I personally own several different shades of this lipstick and the one I have infront of me at the moment is 'birthday suit' which is a light pinky/peachy shade with a slight shimmer to it. As I have very small but plump lips, it is the lighter shades that work best for me so this one falls into that category. Smell wise I find it hard to describe what it actually smells like, but the closed approximation I can think of is talcum powder, I find it very pleasant. The lipstick is easy to apply to the lips and the colour transfers really well. I find it feels soft and nourishing, maybe slightly waxy but I don't mean this in a bad way. It gives at matte finish and doesn't bleed into the surrounding skin (a big plus). As mentioned at the beginning of this review, Rimmel's claim that this lipstick is lasting finish is essentially a big fat lie - I can put this lipstick on with the rest of my makeup and an hour later I'll have to reapply it, even if I haven't had anything to eat or drink - this can be a bit of a pain! Price wise this lipstick costs around £4 which is a decent price for a lipstick - however due to the fact that it doesn't last very long (on the lips that is) I'd be loathe to pay anymore than this. Overall I would recommend this lipstick as I feel that the different shades available provide a nice look, however don't expect it to 'do what it says on the tin' otherwise you'll be sorely disappointed.
I love a red lipstick, it doesn't matter how crap you are looking, slick a bit of red lippy on and the world looks at lot more glamourous! The shade I have chosen to review is Temptation, shade 166. This is a rich, gorgeous red shade with gold shimmer. This lipstick is creamy and easy to apply, I find that just one application is required, you don't need to layer up the colour to get a decent coat. Though I only have this red shade, I know that there are many other shades available and I will certainly be buying more! In terms of longevity, it really does last a good few hours without a touch up (pretty good when you consider the hazards of reapplying such a bright shade after one too many glasses of wine!). It doesn't claim to plump the lips but I think they definately looked fuller after application! I would say that the only disadvantage is the slightly drying effect that this lipstick has- though this is generally a feature of long lasting lipsticks so I haven't let it tarnish my opinion of the product too much. One thing I have yet to mention is price- I can't remember exactly what this cost me (it was under a fiver) and I bought it at the time when Boots had a 3 for 2 on Rimmel so I got a couple of nail polishes too. The packaging isn't that exciting- dark brown in colour and not inventively shaped, if its glamour you want I would tend to go with a higher end brand such as benefit.
I am a fan of cheap and cheerful make up! I have bought many lipsticks over the years and I must admit I keep going back to Rimmel lasting finish for every day day time wear. The lipstick does last longer than other lipsticks in this price range. It's still on my lips at lunchtime after a morning talking and coffee drinking! The lipstick is easy to apply from the tube and glides on well. It's quite a dry lipstick, I think that is what makes it last so well. It sets in a few minutes and then you can have your morning coffee without it leaving marks on the cup! The twist up stick applicator has never broken on me and I've been using these for years. The shades I have give a lovely colour - in the nude, coffee shimmer and fudge brownie - and have just a little shine to them to stop it looking too flat and matt. They last ages too. I have had my current ones over a year and wear them every day. I love these lipsticks and will continue to buy them.
I fancied a little treat the other day, the nice weather always makes me want to spend on myself in the hope that I can look good for the summer, so I went on a minor spending spree and bought a bit of junk jewellery to brighten up the summer clothes, and saw a nice range of Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipsticks in Superdrug. Rimmel Lasting Finish comes in a variety of vibrant colours, from bright reds and orange to muted pinks, feeling daring I opted for Alarm which is a bright red vampy colour I thought I would brighten up my face as well. The lipstick container is nothing you would want to display of your dresser just a black plastic swivel type tube but as the price tag was only £4.49 then I couldn't expect an extravagant case, after all it was lasting finish so I wouldn't have to apply it that often so it would go a long way, and I would rather have the quality in the lipstick then in the packaging. Was I correct in my thinking? No not exactly. This afternoon we were going out just to the pub and a little shopping afterwards so now was an ideal opportunity to wear my new lipstick. It went on easily enough and was indeed bright red; I was quite pleased when I looked in the mirror. Off we set to the pub which is 15 minutes drive, 5 minutes at the bar and stayed about 15 minutes, there was no eating, no kissing or anything of that nature, just one small glass of water for me as I was driving. I noticed there was red lipstick all over the glass but then you would expect some to come off, however before we left I popped in the ladies and what did I see, no lipstick! Not even a hint that there had been any applied an hour earlier, I thought maybe I forgot to put it on but then I remembered the red on the glass. I applied some more, stopped off at the shops and arrived home another 2 hours later, looked in the mirror and there was just the merest hint of pale lipstick remaining. For me it was a total waste of £4.49 and I would not bother to buy it again even on a BOGOF. The price tag is not exactly cheap for how long it stays on the lips I have an NYC ultra last lipstick I bought for £1.79 that lasts longer than this.
Colour that turns heads! Intense long lasting colour for up to 8 hours wear +25% colour impact! Smooth creamy texture for comfortable wear all day long.
