Advantages: Lasts really well, doesn't transfer.
Disadvantages: Only five shades.
My foundation ran out and as my skin has been quite bad lately I decided I wanted something that would give me better coverage. Usually I opt for a cheap (£3) foundation and mix it with some moisturiser so that I even out my skin tone without looking overly made up. I had a look at the makeup section in Asda rather than going into to town, I would have made the trip to town had I not found anything in Asda that took my fancy though.
I spotted this straight away and my search was over. Although this is quite a small tube for its price I don't think it is too bad. A tube contains 30ml and costs £5.85, on further inspection of prices they are all roughly the same in this range.
The tube has average packaging, hardly eye-catching but modern enough. From looking on the Asda and Boots sites it seems this only comes in five shades, not very good is it?! I think having a good range of shades is an important factor in deciding on a foundation if you want to use it long term because throughout the year my skin colour changes, sometimes quite dramatically if I get a lot of sun. The shade I chose was a perfect match but if I see any sun it won't be!
Before applying this I always cleanse, tone and moisturise, you will always get a better result if you have clean moisturised skin before you start.
I apply this by squirting a little on the back on my hand and then using a sponge to blend it all over my face and the start of my neck making sure to blend it well so I don't end up looking like my face is caked in makeup. I have also used my fingers to apply it and it is easy to get a flawless look using this product.
For days when I want a lighter look I mix this with an equal amount of moisturiser or serum and find it looks great. This is a way of not only making this go further but also making this a better option for the summer when you want a much more natural look. Or, if you have dry skin this is a very good way of getting moisture locked into your skin in yet another way.
This does look natural and hides blemishes very well, I hardly need to use concealer with this foundation.
This promises on the tube to be transfer resistant, I have to say that I have not once noticed any traces of this on my hands after touching my face or any of my or my partners clothes while I have been using this. It also says it lasts 16 hours, by the end of the day I still look made up, if you want to look totally flawless though then you would need to touch it up every so often but this is pretty good. I should add that I am a nightmare when I wear makeup as I tend to forget and touch my face a lot, I have even been known to rub my eyes when they are covered in heavy makeup, yes you can imagine the results! It is a mineral enriched foundation, what difference that makes I have no idea!
I like this foundation and I will probably buy it again as the coverage is great, I just wish they did more shades!
Summary: Certainly worth a try.
