Advantages: inexpensive

Disadvantages: none

Being a bit of a beauty snob I have to say I wouldnt normally buy Rimmel cosmetics, however when running an errand to stock up my mums make up bag (whos a self confessed Rimmel & Maybelline addict) this caught my eye.

I have wanted to try a different shade of blusher for a long time, but because I usually spend approx £20 on Mac or Benefit products I wouldnt have taken the plunge without having the assistant try it on me first. However at a reasonable £3.99 ( on offer from £4.99) I thought what the hell and picked a pallette completely different to my usual coral/bronze.

I opted for Spring Flower which was one of 4 different trios of shades. It includes pinky/peachy tones and thought would compliment my skin tone. I was a bit apprehensive as my subjective view on main stream brands left me thinking I would end up looking like a cross between a clown and oompa loompa, however after gently applying (less is more when your worried about looking overly flushed) I was more than pleased with the result.

I have to admit it felt a lot dryer on my skin than my usual Benefit powder, but for the price I think it more than exceeded the expectations I had. The trio of colours blend really well and leave quite a subtle shade.

The packaging is quite bland, basic black and comes with a small blusher brush which I found to be useless as its too small and stiff ;) But to be honest I find the same problem with Benefits brushes so its nothing to do with the brand.

I bought my blusher from Boots, but Rimmel can be found at most supermarkets and chemists, I highly reccommend buying now whilst still on offer.

I would definately try a Rimmel product again, and think it is perfect if you want to experiement with new colours without wasting a fortune on products that will be forgotten about and left in your make up bag.

Summary: will change my opinion on cheaper brands
