Advantages: Great application, fast and smooth. Great colours!

Disadvantages: Not ideal for those with small fingers and finger nails!

As the Halloween season has just passed I've been experimenting a little more with the outfits I wore and the make up to match, I thought it might be quite fun to have a dress up month, as you do. For one of my newly acquired looks I chose to go for a 50's Monroe look, which heavily relies on deep but vivid colours. I spent a while looking at all the different options in boots but in the end I decided to purchase the Rimmel pro polish in Double Decker Red for a fair price of £4.50.

-Application-
The whole point of the lycra pro range by Rimmel is that the brush has been designed to be thicker and wider creating an easier application, or so they say. The brush is fairly thicker and wider than a 'typical' nail polish however as I only have small fingers I found it fairly difficult to get a clean stroke which only went on my nail, the upside to this is that if you have average sized finger nails you should be able to apply this polish with just one stroke to each fingernail.

The brush does have a silky smooth quality to it and effortlessly creates streak less finished on every nail, I must say I do find this quality great and makes me favour this bottle over most of my others.

-Durability-
I find that the polish stays on my nails untouched and un chipped for roughly 4-5 days before they start getting damaged and looking a bit tatty. This is without using a top coat so its worth considering that the durability may be longer depending on what other products you use too. I personally think that the durability of this polish is acceptable as the pot is a generous size and the colour is so vivid that I only need to apply one coat/stroke to each nail; giving me great value for money.

-Overall Opinion-
I think this polish is great, the only flaw I can think of is that the brush is too thick for those who still have baby fingers and finger nails! However this hasn't put me off using this range of nail polish as the other aspects of application more than make up for it. A little tip for those who do have smaller fingers is to buy a corrector pen to just neaten up the lines, or better yet just have damp cotton buds at the ready!

Great range of nail varnish with beautiful vivid colours to suit most, Recommended.

Summary: I'll be purchasing more shades from this range
