Rimmel Lycra Pro Nail Polish
Advantages: Good colours, easy to apply
Disadvantages: Doesn't last 10 days
Rimmel lycra pro
I bought several nail polishes when shopping and the Rimmel polishes were buy one get one free.
WHAT DOES IT PROMISE?
The polish promises to create a long lasting chip resistant professional finish for up to 10 days. It apparently has an anti fade system and this combined with the Lycra technology, it will provide superior shine and wear.
PRODUCT AND PACKAGING...
The nail polish comes packaged in the usual nail polish kind of bottle with a screw on/off lid. I have the colour called Urban Purple but when looking at it through the bottle it is more a dark red/brown than a purple and comes out the colour it looks through the bottle.
When I unscrew the lid, the brush is not too long and the advertised Ultimate Maxi brush is nice and thick. This brush promises to enable me to apply the polish without making mistakes which is a good thing, because I really dislike thin spindly brushes which leave lines of polish on my nails. The thick brush does actually enable me to apply the polish really easily and because there is plenty of the polish loaded on the brush then I don't have to keep painting over my nails. I can with this actually paint my nails with three brush strokes on each nail so it doesn't look patchy.
PRICE AND AVAILABILITY...
The polish is available in supermarkets and chemists and costs around £4.50. there is a range of colours to chose from including several pinks reds and purples and the recent autumn range features 3 colours which are much more earthy.
I love the way I am able to apply this polish easily and effectively. The one thing I would say here is to be careful with the amount of polish loaded on the brush and make sure you take some off on the side of the bottle; the large brush will always ensure that there is plenty of polish for effective and neat application. The colour does go on true to the shade on first application but for a really smooth finish I always apply two coats and a top coat. Although it promises to last for up to 10 days I find that flaws appear after a day or two and the polish does look a bit raggety on the tips of my nails. This is better than a lot of polishes and because the colour is nice and smooth and if I am in a hurry I am able to apply just a little of the polish to the affected areas to see me through another few days. This length of coverage is fine for me because I do like to change my polish.
It is easy to remove using normal nail polish remover but because it's a dark colour, its important to wear base coat so as not to stain nails.
An effective and easy to apply nail polish; I will be investing in some other colours.
