Rimmel Lycra Wear 10+ Minerals Nail Polish, well if that isn't a mouthful I don't know what is, is it worth its name? Hmmm...

I was sent a free sample of this nail varnish from a free gift site I use on the internet, I rarely get anything sent and when I do it is normally rubbish but I was sent a bottle of Hypnotise which was a very rich deep purple colour. Amazed that it had arrived in my favourite colour, I quickly decided to use this varnish as soon as possible.

I have to admit the colour was one of the two things going for this nail varnish, I have many shades, brands and types of nail varnish and nothing I already have compares to this one. To start with the bottle is quite standard, black handle, holding average brush, clear bottle that holds the varnish. On applying the varnish the second good thing is the 'Maxi' Brush. The brush is wider than most brushes and it does make application so much easier, one stroke and the nail is covered. In the bottle the colour is very bold on application however the colour is quite wishy washy, yes I know that is not a good terminology, but it was just a bit dish watery. The consistency itself isn't watery but that's the look it gives. I put two coats on to help it boost the colour and although it did help a little, the colour is still lacking something.

I have since looked at the other colours available in this varnish and I really think I got a way lightly with the colour I was sent. From what I can gather, there are 11 shades and they are all progressively worse than the one before.

Milk Chocolate - Caramel/treacle colour
Tequila Sunrise - Bright garish orange
Grape Sorbet - Plumish
Rose Pink - Brown with pink of pink
Beige - Brown/gold
Promiscuous - Peachy/pink
Razz - Red/pink
Azteque - Horrible brown
Black Satin - Black
Hypnotise - Purple
Pink Punk - Pink/red

The other colours are really not very nice, they are probably the worse shades available and why would anyone was a nail varnish called Beige?? I really think Rimmel has let themselves down with this product. It has no good features and I would have been very disappointed if I had actually spent money on this. On a good note, it came off with nail varnish remover very easily.
