Don't be fooled by the glamorous ads! (Rimmel Magnif'Eyes)
Member Name: candifloss
Advantages: Erm...the packaging? Disadvantages: Terrible brush, can result in spidery, clumped lashes
As a girl who loves long eyelashes, I'm forever eager to try out the hot new mascaras on the market. And Rimmel Magnif'Eyes looked pretty good. I wasn't expecting to look like Kate Moss, but then this is a mascara, not a surgeon. The glamorous Tv ads drew me straight to the Rimmel stand, and I purchased the mascara, hoping this would be a new favourite. I'd tried endless mascaras before, all new out at the time, but I'd never been so impressed with them that I felt compulsed to buy it again. I generally find that none of them live up to the hype. The famous Max Factor Masterpiece was disappointing, as were the Bourjois ones. I was confident that the 'breakthrough applicator' would sculpt my lashes to Kate Moss proportions. Though actually, the TV ad is a complete con, like all other mascara ads, as they are filmed with lash inserts, and there is fancy technology extending the lashes. I personally find this deceiving - if the mascara is that good, these shouldn't be necessary. But, at £7 from Superdrug, it seemed reasonable. Summary: A real disappointment-maybe if they made the opening of the tube larger the bristles wouldn't break |
