I have this foundation in True Ivory and have been using it for about 6 months now.
I have experimented with a variety of foundations in the past but have found that this one gives the best coverage out of those that I have used. It gives a very smooth feel to the skin and is quite matte when applied. I also find that it gives a very good match to my skin tone which give a more natural look rather than an orange glow.
A tub lasts me a long time however I only use foundation when on nights out or for special occasions so if using it for everyday wear it wouldn't last as long.
I only have to apply once without touching up however it can become a little shiny after a while of wearing it so I put powder over the top when applying which helps the foundation to last longer as well keeping a matte finish.
A few months back I was browsing in my local boots store to try and find a good foundation. I never really stick to the same brand as new more interesting products become available and I like to give them a try. I noticed the match perfection cream gel foundation mostly due to its appearance and the fact that it was on offer for £5.00.
The foundation comes in a clear glass pot that had an attractive blue lid on top. The packaging doesn't contain anything exciting as such but the fact that it looked different to some of the other brands made it attractive to me.
The foundation claims to give a flawless coverage on the skin to create a natural look, with match perfection technology, it is able to adapt to the skin tone to give a more natural finish. The foundation also contains blue sapphire pigments which work to enhance the natural skins colour and tone.
I hadn't really considered a gel foundation before and since my skin can be greasy I was worried that this foundation may make the matter worse but there was more good points about trying this product than not so I decided to go for it and give it a go.
The consistency of the foundation is just like others available if anything I would say maybe between a cream and a mousse as it is a bit thicker than the average liquid foundation. I applied my foundation with my fingers and I was extremely pleased to see that the foundation sinks into the skin very well and gives a fabulous and even coverage on the skin. My skin feels so soft after using this product and it is matt to so there was no greasy parts to be seen.
I have rather light skin so I opted for the ivory shade and it definitely adapted to my skin tone as I looked refreshed and covered although to other people my appearance was so natural I didn't appear to have any foundation on. Another great benefit of this product is that it doesn't need to be re-applied throughout the day it literally looks as good on a night as it did on first application in the morning.
The pot size is 18ml so it is a rather small tub and it definitely doesn't last as long as some of the brands out there, however the quality makes up for this and I would be more than happy to keep purchasing this product at its usual £6.99 price tag in fact I have bought a few since first trying this product.
Overall this is a great foundation that gives a natural coverage on all skin tones and I would certainly recommend this product.
Over the years I haven't really stayed loyal to a particular brand or type of foundation and if there is an offer on something I am usually swayed in to trying it. A few months ago whilst shopping in Boots I noticed a new rimmel product called match perfection cream gel foundation and it was on offer for £4.99 so I decided to give it a go.
The foundation comes in a circular shaped pot which features all of the product information including the name and brand name on the bottom of the pot which seems a little but odd but whilst it is on the shelves it stands upside down so the blue lid looks to be in the right position. Obviously the lid needs to be unscrewed when you use the foundation though and so I chose to leave it the "right" way round on my dresser so when I came to use it I didn't end up with the entire product in the lid instead of the base.
When you unscrew the lid you can see the cream gel foundation and to use it you need to get some on to your finger or brush and apply it to your face. I have to say having not used a gel foundation before I was quite surprised at how wet and cold it felt on my face as I rubbed it in! I was really impressed with how easily it rubbed in to my skin and how little of the product I actually needed to cover my face as well. It was certainly much easier to blend than a normal liquid foundation and I would liken it to perhaps the dream matte mousse from Maybelline.
Once the cream gel had had a few minutes to settle down on my face I have to say it felt incredibly lightweight and almost like I wasn't wearing any foundation at all which was nice. I did apply a powder on to my face after use like I always do but I have to say my skin looked pretty flawless apart from my dark eyes which are pretty much always apparent it seems!
Rimmel claim that their match perfection cream gel foundation "adapts to skin's tone and texture" and that it evens skin tone to help give a flawless finish. I have to say that I do think that this foundation provides a very nice finish which looks quite natural as well. My only slight issue is that it doesn't last me all day when I am at work but to be fair nothing really lasts me a full day at work. For days when I am at home the foundation lasts well and is certainly enough from morning until early evening.
The rimmel match perfection cream gel foundation comes in just five shades currently, none of which are particularly dark and so if you are dark skinned you may find it hard to get a match for your skin. I do think a few more shades would really enhance the popularity of this product personally. The foundation is currently available in Boots for £6.99 which I think is still a good price to pay for a daily use foundation but I would say to look out for promotions as Boots often do three for two on cosmetics so a better deal can be had.
