Advantages: cheaper version of beauty flash balm

Disadvantages: price, not really a primer, white plastic

I have made it my mission to try as many affordable primers as possible. I love using them and am keen to find one that is both cheap and effective. I've reviewed quite a few on here and so far my favourites are the l'oreal primer for special occasions and the Elizabeth Arden morning serum for day use. I saw this recently in the supermarket and thought I'd give it a try.

The primer come in a white plastic tube with a blue metallic twist lid. The design is pretty simple and to me it looks more like a moisturiser than it does a make up product. I do wish the plastic of the bottle was clear too as it is hard to gauge how much or little you have left. I do like that it can be cut open though as this allows me to get the most out of the product.

The primer itself actually has the feel and consistency of a moisturiser too. It is white and has the feel of a relatively thick cream. It rubs in easily and leaves your skin feeling soft and hydrated but not really primed in the same way other products do. I think it works well as a cheaper version of the clarins beauty flash balm which is a primer but has more of the feel of a moisturiser and is really hydrating for your skin before applying foundation.

The price for this product is £6.99 though Rimmel do often do deals on their make up. Personally I think this is a little steep for a product that isn't really a primer or a moisturiser, just a weird mixture of the two. I'll use it in place of my beauty flash balm on days where I am just going to uni or out somewhere shopping but for special occasions or long days at work I'll be avoiding it.

Overall, it isn't my perfect product and it doesn't fix my primer problems but I guess it's okay.

Summary: An okay product but not great at any one thing.
