I bought this product a couple of weeks ago, as it was on offer at boots and the range of nail polishes were 3 for 2. I got it as I was going away for a weekend and wanted a bit of extra security so I wouldn't have to take nail polish with me.

It costs £4.49 for a small bottle.

The polish is a clear one, that boasts lots of positives, the blurb from the boots website reads :" Pro Superwear Topcoat provides a 3D superior shine topcoat which dries to the touch within 60 seconds. This adds a protective shield to the nail polish, helping to improve shock resistance and long lasting wear. The contained UV protector will lock in colour to prolong intensity and shine and prevent fading and chipping for up to 10 days"

The nail polish goes on very easily and has quite a thick texture, yet it's very quick to cover an entire nail with a glossy top coat, and it does give polish a bit of extra shine, so I do still use it for that purpose. The brush is very soft and easy to work with, and it does dry extremely quickly.

The 10 days prevention from chipping part that is also quoted on the bottle though is a complete load of rubbish. I used this over a nail polish that I was confident would last a couple of days and it made no difference, after 2 days it started chipping. So the whole 10 days thing was very optimistic.

I have also tested this theory on my toe nails, which I find chip a lot less regularly than finger nails anyway, but this top coat made them worse, and caused the polish to chip earlier than before.

I used this over 2 coats of colour and it made no difference to the chipping, and actually made toe nails chip quicker. However the glossy finish that it leaves is really nice, and does add an extra shine to polish, which for a night out would look great. So I would recommend this to add extra shine to colours but not to prevent chipping.
