Advantages: Brush! Neater tidier and more defined eyebrows adding to your full make up effect.
Disadvantages: No staying power - and you do need to pluck your eyebrows on a regular basis!
I must say I am generally lazy when it comes to my eyebrows, I hate plucking and waxing in general so only do it when needs must. Surprisingly for me I then decided to purchase an eyebrow pencil for a little bit of light grooming!
Firstly, I must say I tend not to use every day, only when I am putting on a full face of slap or going somewhere that is deserving of me looking my best (so not work!) so I know I won't have to replenish for a while as you do not need to use much to create those perfect eyebrows!
I purchased the dark brown pencil as I have quite dark hair/eyebrows and I have found that it matches my eyebrows very well, which is a plus as it means that when I use I don't look like a geisha girl with painted on eyebrows!
So, firstly the pencil, it is a bog standard pencil! The same length as an average eyeliner, and easy to sharpen. The actual "lead" is soft and you don't need to use too much pressure to apply. The best feature about this pencil, which I feel makes it stand out from the crowd, is the brush attached to the lid!
So - the brush ..... well the idea behing it (I think) is to use to help blend the pencil into your eyebrow thus softening the effect and reducing the risk of painted eyebrows. I also use it when plucking my eyebrows to tame unruly hairs and make sure I do not overpluck! (Though if I do overpluck I could fix with the eyebrow pencil!). The brush does, after time and use go misshappen and into more of a "clump" effect. I personally find this makes the brush work better! It is softer! I suppose the best way to describe it would be that it is like using a brush rather than a comb! That is just my personal experience and could be to do with the fact that the brush gets bashed around in make up bags, going out bags and thrown around my room as I get ready!
Next - application. I have found I need a really steady hand to apply this, so I have to stand in front of the mirror and rest my arm against the wall otherwise I have found I tend to end up with 2 caterpillars across my face. Other than that, it is easy to use, if you do slip it is easy to fix. Therein I suppose lies another problem, because it is easy to fix and wipe off it doesn't have the staying power that some people may like! It does stay better if you are actually using it "in" your eyebrows rather than just on your skin to fill out your eyebrows! I do also, on occassion use this as an eyeliner, though I wouldn't recommend as it doesn't give a great colour on your eyelids!
Finally - in a nutshell - I would recommend this product to buy, I find it defines my eyebrows and "strengthens" my face and make up, thus making me stand out and look polished. True at the end of the night it is actually gone but by that point I don't care! I would buy this just to use the brush!
Summary: I'd buy it if only for the brush!
