Advantages: Cheap, Comes With Eyebrow Comb.
Disadvantages: Doesn't Smudge Well, Goes On A Bit 2 Thick.
So those of you that have read my 'Soap and Glory Arch De Triumph Eyebrow Pencil and Highlighter' reveiw will know that i consider an eyebrow pencil a VERY important part of my make-up bag and is most definitley one of my every day makeup essentials. I have sworn by using the 'Soap and Glory' eyebrow pencil every single day since i purchased it as having perfectly groomed eyebrows can make a huge difference to the face. However, about 2 weeks to my absolute horror, the pencil broke in sharpener and could no longer be used!!!!! To say i was gutted is putting it lightly especially because at the time i didnt have the funds to buy a new one, but then i saw this 'Rimmel Proffesional Eyebrow Pencil' for a fraction of the price and thought i would try it out. Heres what i thought....
~Useful Info~
Price: £2.99
Stockists: Boots, Superdrug etc.
Colours: Hazel, Dark Brown and Black/Brown.
~How To Use~
Step 1 - Use the brush on the side of the lid to gently comb the brows into desired shape and pluck any stragglers.
Step 2 - Use the pencil to lightly fill in the eyebrows in your desired shape/thickness. Only ever use light, short strokes. NEVER colour them in with thick dark strokes or press too hard unless you want to look like a drag queen!!!
Step 3 - Gently smudge the eyebrow pencil using your finger and keep stepping back from the mirror to make sure you haven't gone too OTT and add more of the pencil wherever you feel neccesary.
~The Pencil~
The pencil itself is thin and black with a lid which corresponds to the shade of the pencil, the lid also has an eyebrow brush on the side which can be used to comb the brows into shape before plucking and for smudging in the colour. I found this a really handy feature and its quite unique as i personally haven't seen another eyebrow pencil that has this. As i said before the pencil is thin which makes application easy however, i found that the pencil didn't smudge very well and did go on quite thick so you do have to be careful how much you use. I own the dark brown colour as i have dark brown hair and obviously your eyebrows should match your hair colour but i did find the shade was quite an unnatural colour andf had to be careful to use a small amount and smudge reeeeally well to make it look natural.
Overall, this isn't the greatest eyebrow pencil but it is cheap and considering the price it is great value and does the job it is suppose to. However, i think i will save up to buy my trusty 'Soap and Glory' eyebrow pencil for when this one runs out.
