      Advantages

      Disadvantages

A cheap & cheerful foundation that will last long.

The Rimmel line of foundations always seems the safe option for me and this foundation fits the bill! I buy most of my facial products from here, ie foundations, powder, concealers, so I knew the shade that would match my skin tone. I would recommend buying this foundation if you are familiar with the line. Firstly let me outline that I have young and quite oily skin and bought this foundation as a mistake, however it was a pleasant surprise!
This foundation is quite heavy and so gives a nice coverage if you have any scars or redness. I found it gives a nice even coverage when applying in different ways but I found that it went on best with a foundation brush. But if you don't have one, the coverage is still pretty good and doesn't make much difference if you use your hands.
I have tried a fair few foundations, and I know they can be unpleasant. The Rimmel Renew & Lift foundation smelt amazing and left my skin feeling bright and healthy and not too heavy. The hyaluronic serum added a lovely touch to an already great foundation. This foundation also contains SPF 15, this is great for everyday wear but for occasion wear I wouldn't recommend it. I found that the SPF in the foundation makes the face look quite shiny in pictures taken with a flash and also if you have quite an oily skin tone will only look worse with the foundation if you haven't set the foundation with powder.
However, this foundation is worth the £7/8, it comes in a nice large container and holds 30ml, therefore it will last a while.

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

      all round good foundation

My husband got me this by accident as I sent him to boots for foundation, written down I hasten to add but he still got it wrong.

So I started using this and now I wont go back to anything else.

The colour of the foundation in the bottle doesnt look like it matches my skin colour but it blends in lovely with my skin tone. I use soft beige I am quite pale and I can have dark circles under my eyes, this foundation covers the dark circles and also make me look like I have foundation on but not to the point where I look orange.

I wear foundation everyday and can go through quite a lot sometimes a bottle a month. This lasted me three months, there is a pump applicator which I think saves on foundation. I also think that as it blends in well then you dont need as much.

The consistency is not too runny or to thick it isn't oily either.

I used to have two foundation types one for the day one for the night but this foundation is an all rounder day and evening foundation that I would recommend

I dont know of it renews and relifts me though

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

      A great foundation

I haven't worn foundation in years, having always struggled to find a shade to match my complexion, and being too impatient to try to apply a full face of make up when I normally end up smudging it off anyway.

However, my mum picked up this foundation for me in the Sand shade because it was a bargain somewhere.

I have used this product several times, especially as recently, my skin hasn't been in tiptop condition to allow me to not cover up with some form of make up. I really like how this shade does not look as if it should match my skin tone, yet when blended into my skin gives great coverage and makes my skin look a bit brighter.

This foundation comes in a pump bottle, in liquid form, and I normally just use my fingers to blend it into my face as needed. I feel my fingertips help warm it up a bit and blend in well. The finish isn't cakey, which is something I love about this product. If I only apply a light layer, it barely feels like I am wearing make up.

I am only just reading to bottle now, and it claims to make your skin look younger in 12 days. I'm not sure I can vouch for that, but then again, I am only 20 and babyfaced, getting ID'd all the time and passing for child fares on the bus. The product also claims to energize and lift the skin, which I agree with a bit, it definitely makes my face look brighter and my skin firmer.

I love that this is an oil free formula, which means I don't have to worry about this product causing an outbreak of spots. I normally apply a thin layer of face cream before applying this product, and I have found this great base for applying other make up, especially when I am applying eyeshadow.

I would recommend this product, and I definitely think this is a product I will stick with. I cannot vouch for it's time reversing complex (I always take these sort of claims with a pinch of salt anyway), but if you're looking for a good foundation with even coverage and a natural looking finish, this is definitely one to try.

It also smells nice as well!

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

A age reversing foundation which conditions the skin and covers imperfections

The whole business of buying foundation is often a really frustrating and confusing process. Once you've chosen the right brand for you, you then need to decide on which particular foundation created by that brand you want and then you need to decide which shade is right for you! Aaarrgghhh! Men don't know how easy they have it. After receiving a free sample of the Renew & Lift foundation by Rimmel and becoming intrigued by it, I went out and bought a full sized bottle.

      What does the product do?
This product promises to do more than just the normal job of a foundation. It promises to turn back time and reverse the aging process within just twelve days. Rimmel claims that due to the special ingredients within the foundation, the skin will be lifted, rejuvenated and made firmer with repeated application. They also claim that your skin will look healthier, toned, radiant and flawless, as well as giving it a dewy glow.

That's a lot of promises from one little product and the reason that I was so intrigued after I received my free sample was because I wanted to know whether it could really achieve all that within twelve days. I wear foundation daily anyway so I thought I might as well purchase one that benefits my skin in so many ways at the same time.

      How does the product work?
The foundation contains what Rimmel call the Time Reverse Complex which is made from Ceramides and Peptides. Ceremides are found naturally in our skin but their numbers begin to dwindle as we get older and this makes our skin age. Their inclusion in this foundation enables healthy new skin cells to develop and they hydrate the skin. They help to retain the skins elasticity which means new wrinkles won't form and they also fight against free radicals that are lurking in the skin.

The Peptides in this Time Reversal Complex stimulate the production of collagen in the skin which means our skin becomes plumper and wrinkles and fine lines will be ironed out. This leads to the skin looking more youthful and toned, and feeling smoother. The Peptides helps the skin to heal and repair itself and as it is an antioxidant, they also help to prevent any further premature aging of the skin.

The foundation also contains Glycerin which is a humectant. This means that the substance encourages moisture to be drawn into the deepest layers of the skin and helps it to be retained there. It leaves the skin on the face deeply hydrated and it will stay that way for a long period of time which prevents any dryness from returning, which in turn prevents wrinkles.

How do you use the product?
The product is to be used in much the same way as a normal foundation. It should be applied to clean, dry skin that has already been moisturised. It is also beneficial to have applied a primer to fill in your pores and fine lines, to make the foundation look better and to help it to last longer on the face. It can be applied using the fingers or a make up sponge. You take a small amount of the foundation and smooth it onto the skin taking care around the eye brows and hairline to make sure that it has been blended in properly.

      Packaging and Price
The foundation comes enclosed within a clear bottle on which the name of the product is written and some additional information about the product is displayed. When you remove the lid, you see the dispenser which uses a pump mechanism and when you pump it, the foundation is released.

When I went to purchase the product, I was surprised to see it was fairly cheap when you consider all that it claims to do. It cost around £8 to buy 30ml of the foundation and it can be bought from most departments stores, large supermarkets and many online websites so if you shop around, you might find it for a little bit cheaper.

      Available Shades
There aren't many shades of this foundation to choose from which I think makes the chance of you finding one to suit your skin tone slim. Ivory is the lightest shade and the only other options are True Ivory, Natural Beige, Soft Beige or Classic Beige.

      Extra Thoughts
I chose to buy Classic Beige which on reflection is a bit too dark for my skin. When you dispense the foundation, the first thing that hits you is the aroma. I've never encountered a more delicious smelling foundation. It smells refreshing, sweet and even fruity like Sherbet. I am usually against face products with a fragrance but I can certainly accept it when it smells like this one does. If it's not your thing, the aroma dies down quite quickly once it's on the skin.

The texture of the foundation is gorgeous and it glides onto the skin effortlessly. It is easy to blend and you have time to work with the product on your face before it dries into an controllable mess like some foundations. It looks very natural on the skin and it most certainly gives you a dewy glow. There seems to be some sort of radiance boosting ingredient in there because it gives your skin a healthy and ethereal glow that is completely gorgeous. The coverage is good and it hides your imperfections and really does make your skin look flawless.

One thing which has disappointed me with this foundation is that it makes my skin shine too much. I have oily skin and this product is advertised as being oil free so I thought that it would be fairly matte on the skin. Whether it's the radiance boosting ingredients which causes this or not, I'm not sure. I need to apply a lot of mattifying powder to control the shine but this takes away the lovely radiance. Boooooo!

Despite it making my skin look fairly oily, it hasn't caused any blemishes or blackheads to form on my skin. My skin feels soft and smooth after the foundation has been washed away so it must be very moisturising. The foundation also comes with SPF 15 which means your face will be protected from the sunshine which will also help to fight against premature aging so this is a fantastic bonus.

As for turning back time, I'm not sure. I only have a few fines lines and they are still there. My skin does seem fresher however and more toned. When I first apply the foundation, it stings a little bit. The feeling subsides feeling quickly but I did wonder whether this was those special ingredients getting to work or maybe just because I have sensitive skin. Either way, I can't say my skin looks younger but I'm pretty sure it looks healthier and in a better condition but then again, sometimes we just see what we want to see!

All in all, this is a good foundation if you like to have full coverage. Unfortunately, there aren't many shades to choose from so it's the luck of the draw whether you can find one that suits your skin tone. The radiance it adds to your skin is gorgeous but it may be too much on oily skin. It smells completely delicious and does improve the condition of the skin. As for banishing wrinkles and fine lines, I'll keep trying and if I wake up one day to find they've gone then I'll update my review but I'm not holding my breath.

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

So impressed with this I have already purchased my 2nd bottle

New foundation time, I have tried a few and no doubt will try a few more, but, the next on my hit list as I fancied giving it a go was the Rimmel London, Renew & Lift Foundation. I had seen it advertised and also noticed in shops it was quite reasonably priced. Superdrug had it for £7.99, Boots had it for £8.99. I ended up getting it from Boots as I treated myself with my Boots points.

I choose the colour Soft Beige, number 200. After looking at testers I decided that was the best colour for me. They do have a good range of colurs so will hopefully suit a lot of skin types.

        ****Packaging****
It comes in a glass bottle, see through so you can see how much foundation is left, with the burgundy rimmel logo and cap. It is a 30ml size.

        ****What it Says****
It is sold as a regenerating and firming foundation which contains hyaluronic serum to help smooth and firm the skins texture resultoing in a complexion that looks youthful, lifted and renewed. Flawless looking finish all day long.

        ****Verdict****
Foundation goes on easily, very soft velvety feel to it, not heavy at all, blends into skin nicely, and does not feel oily. The colour matches my skin tone and gives my skin an even look. I apply in the morning, and still do feel like I have good coverage by the time I finish work. Does it make me look youthful, lifted and renewed? Well, we are always the harshest critics of ourselves however, where it unfortunately does not knock 10 years of my age ( I wish, but it also does not claim to) I do feel my skin tone is even when wearing it, helps make me look less flawed, and gives a warmness to my skin tone, so yes, I would say it does exactly what it says on the bottle. Very pleased with this purchase.

          Advantages

          Disadvantages

          A good foundation.

One thing I could never leave the house without, let alone live without is my face foundation cream. I have always had spotty and blemished skin from about the age of 13, so for me to feel any sort of confidence I have to wear at least a base coat o foundation, a sealing powder of some description and a little blusher, as though I like my porcelain coloured skin to be just that, I do look a little dead once applied, so need something for a little colour.

Alongside the spots I have now found that my skin is starting to look a bit older too, with there being a few more lines than I remember seeing the last time I examined my face, with it starting to travel down to see my chest too (though of course they are out at the moment, they are visiting my stretch marks on my stomach, I don't know about foundation I could do with permanent scaffolding!).

I am a real sucker for promises, this will make you thin, this will make you look younger, this will get you Robbie Williams, you know the kind, though once coupled with a cheaper than the norm price tag too, I simply find it rude not to indulge!

I decided on a whim to purchase this foundation due to the cheap price tag (of course) and the promise that not only would this make my skin appear more youthful but would also seem firmer too!

Many of these foundations come in the same generic looking glass bottles now, which is fine up until a point, then have to be dotted along a shelf instead of thrown into a make up box, to get all the liquid foundation into the same region as the pump action tube.

There is a multitude of information to be found on the bottle itself (in a variety of languages too!), with the following being gleaned.

This is Rimmel London product (you know the one's that are advertised by the annoyingly thin and ancient Kate Moss, catty me? NEVER! Lol!), and due t me having used Rimmel products for many years now I wasn't worried that this would be inferior quality.

The product name is self explanatory with this being "renew & lift", with this also containing "hyaluronic serum", which sounds a bit like the chemical peel stuff applied to remove old skin cells, so far so good!

This has an SPF of 15, which I am ashamed to say means nothing to me, I have never bothered applying any sorts of sun protection to my face before, though I do know my Mum is quite anal about higher SPF's in her make up, something to do with her protecting her already poorly skin!

There is also a full description of how and what this will do for your skin, with the final promise that this will last all day, looking as fresh as when first applied, and leaving you skin looking flawless and radiant.

To use I always apply with my finger tips, I have tried sponges but just can't get the hand of them. I pump a little of the foundation onto my fingertips, I have found about 4 - 5 pumps of foundation is enough to cover my face and neck, and there is hardly ever any waste as with each depress of the applicator pump only a very small amount comes out.

After smoothing onto my face (freshly cleansed, though I don't moisturise before applying it now, it does make your foundation go further, though for my skin type does nothing to stop it from sliding off my skin again after an hour!), I find that my skin does look much smoother, though doesn't completely hide my bigger blemishes and spots, though does help disguise any open pores I may have, usually around my nose area.

The foundation is in cream form and smoothes onto my skin very easily, though I do have to take care around my eye brows, eye's and my jaw line, as these are usually the places that I can get tide marks, though this stuff seems to blend in very nicely as long as too much isn't put on at once, I find smaller amounts layered on makes for a better finish.

My face certainly looks better with this on but doesn't make me any younger looking or my face any firmer, though it doesn't cling too much to any damage already there so whether this is the effect they were getting at, in that respect that did work!

I always use ivory as I am quite pale skinned (dead looking!), and also have to use a translucent sealing powder to try and stop the shine coming through too quickly, and the foundation looked as good once sealed over (some can go a bit chalky looking!).

Longevity wise this lasts around the same amount of time as my previous foundations have, about 3-4 hours, then my husband will very subtly ask if I feel ill, as I look like s**t, then I know it is time to re-apply (and consider a divorce! Lol!).

As with most foundations this will come off when and if it comes into contact with clothing and collars, so care needs to be taken if getting changed, or (if like me!) you forget to remove the foundation completely, it is a real bummer trying to get this stuff of pillows (and mascara too, I have a face shape on most of my pillows!).

This stuff is really easy to remove at the end of the day and (when I remember!) comes off with either baby lotion or even wipes, without any problems.

This stuff (even when left on overnight!) has never irritated my skin, or made it any spottier than the norm, in fact if I come across this stuff on offer again ( I never pay full price if I can help it!), I would be more than happy to buy this again.

This cost me £6.00 on offer, and is available for around the £9.00 mark which is around the price many are sold for, this is good value as the bottle holds 1fl oz 30ml of cream and has a shelf life (once opened) of 18 months, though this usually lasts me (with twice a day use), for a good 6 weeks.

Any down sides, not so much with foundation but a small pet hate with the bottle itself.

When the foundation gets down to a certain level in the bottle, there is more chance for air to get into the pump tube, so that on more than one occasion have I ended up with small splatters of foundation over my sink and in the worst case scenario over my clothes, though how this could be combated I couldn't say.

On the other hand though the bottle is fully recyclable, and due to the bottle being glass and clear you never in adversity run out of foundation like I used to do when it came in tube form!

This is a lovely foundation that I would quite happily buy again, recommended!

          Thanks for reading x

            Advantages

            Disadvantages

A good priced foundation, you get what you pay for

I normally buy a clinique foundation which I love, but the pennies were a bit tight and I was rapidly running out of foundation so needed a quick fix until I got paid!

Now, I'm only 21 so don't really need to 'renew and lift' my face! But whenever I use my mum's foundations, which are usually for ageing skin or 'to lift' etc etc I find them much nicer than the ones on the market for younger skin...anyway I thought I would give this a go.

I paid around £8 for this in Boots. It comes in a glass bottle with a dark purple lid that just pulls off and there is a 'pump' to release the foundation. I must say I find this much nicer than my normal foundation which I have to pour out and can get in a bit of a mess!

The foundation is a nice texture, not too runny, not too thick and comes in a wide variety of shades.

I use a foundation brush to apply and only need about 2 'pumps' to cover my whole face.
I do find I have to 'blend' quite a lot, otherwise i end up with 'brush marks' on my face! But for people who use their fingers perhaps this isn't a problem.

The foundation seems to have the need to 'set' before i put blusher or bronzer on, if I do this too soon it seems to wipe off and smudge with my blusher. I would say it only takes a minute though, so I put my foundation on and then brush my hair whilst I wait for it to dry!
I do feel like this sits in a layer 'on top' of my skin as well, and if I touch my face too much I end up with finger marks! Which isn't a good look... but perhaps I shouldn't be touching my face! Or maybe my skin is too oily?!

It does give a nice look and good coverage however. Its not too 'orange' and is a nice tone. By the end of the day though I feel like it has completely worn off, but most of my make up seems to do this anyway!

I have worn this make up on a night out, and I did '2 layers' (letting one layer 'set' in between applications!) and it lasted really well. However for normal every day make up I wouldn't want to do this.

I would consider buying this again if I was short on money, but I am loyal to my beloved clinique!

            Advantages

            Disadvantages

Give this a chance- even if you don't want a product for aging skin!

I bought this foundation a while ago and I'm only on my second bottle. I am quite young and therefore I don't need a foundation for aging skin, but after I tested this I knew I had to buy it!

This foundation has made my skin more flawless than any other foundation has ever been able to. I first bought this when I had terrible acne and I found it really boosted my self confidence as it really covered and smoothed my skin. The coverage, however, is heavy which I didn't like for everyday as I felt it would make my skin worse. However, for evening I loved this.

I found I needed quite a light shade of this in order to make me look more natural and less cakey. I applied it with my fingers but I think it would apply nicer with a brush because of the heaviness of it.

I have quite oily skin and I found that this did make me go a bit shiny during the day. This definately wasn't made for teenage skin like mine, and therefore it definately required me to apply powder a few times.

The packaging of this is really nice. I love the glass bottle as it feels really high quality and the pump is really useful. It dispenses the product well and you can get as much or as little as you want. However, I did find that as it was glass it was difficult to get the last of the product out, and therefore a little was wasted.

This foundation is quite reasonable but on the more expensive end of the high-street makeup scale. It is often on offer but I think it normally retails at around £8-£9. You get an average amount of product for your money.

This is not one that many people would normally pick up as it is aimed at aging skin. However, give this a test because you may be surprised!

            Advantages

            Disadvantages

            Overall a good product

I am a big fan of Rimmel products as I can rarely stretch my budget to premium brand cosmetics. This is my favourite of Rimmel's foundations as I can get the perfect shade for my skin, which is quite fair and it leaves it feeling smooth and gives a dewy finish, which is great when you are starting to get your first few lines. I think the light replective pigment really helps with this. I do not wear it every day so a bottle will probably last me about 4 months, making it very good value for money. The coverage is very good and you do not need much of it. I find a full pump full is too much. If you apply it with a foundation brush, the finish is even better. I have quite sensitive skin, which can sting with some make up but I have never encountered any issues with this product.

            Advantages

            Disadvantages

            Good purchace and lasts long!

Rimmel Renew and Lift Foundation is a good foundation it gives you a nice even tone.
            Price in shops is £5.00
            Online Price: £4.00
            Online saving is £1.00
The scent to this foundation is a lot better than most. I do find it slightly oily on my skin but it's better for those with dry skin. If you have oily skin then use only a small amount.
If you are looking for a nice glow or tanned look if you go for the porcelain / beige tone. The whole design of the bottle is clever in representing Rimmel itself, with the logo on the top and a nice purple lid.
It's great value for money as it lasts a long time depending on how much you use, it should last you a few months. These foundation's do come in great tones and all work well with the skin. I find it best applied with a foundation brush to get the smoothest, flawless look. A good purchase!
Tip: Try not to get it on any clothing as it's hard to wash out and dies leave a faded stain.
Perfect for a girls night out and always take a powder to set this foundation as it is greasy and can be hard to keep on throughout the night.

            Advantages

            Disadvantages

            Well worth buying

This is my personal, everyday, continuous wearing foundation and I love it to the point that I keep buying it again and again. Regardless of minor bad points it's well worth the money and definitely recommended.

The foundation pumps out as a smooth liquid which I find applies really easily onto my face with my fingers. The effect once on looks smooth and slightly textured, just to the point that it doesn't look porcelain and all one colour and a block.

I'm quite pale in skin colour and I use Ivory and have found it a great match for my skin colour and a colour which blends in really well with my skin tone and my jaw line.

Although I would class this foundation as great quality (especially for its price) it doesn't last as long as I would like, certainly not the 12 hours foundations usually claim; at least not at the consistancy it first appears and I would like. I have to reapply around 2/3 times a day if I wish for continuous coverage.

This particular foundation by Rimmel advertises itself as 'renew and lift' though I haven't particularly experienced these effect, though, to be honest, and I haven't looked for them either and I'm not entirely sure what I'd be looking out for anyway.

I'm eighteen so I don't quite have teenage skin and I'm far from prone to acne but obviously with foundation I am vary of constantly wearing it and it clogging up my pours, leading to spots. My personal experience in regards to that problem has been extremely positive, doesn't seem to have led to spots and I'm never that careful of taking my make-up off after a night out.

I paid approximately £8 for my foundation. I think that price is decent in relation to other foundations on the market of similar quality and is well worth it for effect and quantity.

Just as an extra note: I have quite dry skin and so any effect I've mentioned the foundation has had on my skin is in relation to my skin type which is slightly dry. So just take that into account with my review.

            Advantages

            Disadvantages

A great looking foundation but not anti-ageing results.

            ** Rimmel **

I was surprised to find out that the Rimmel brand has been going since 1834, nearly two centuries! I assumed they were a relatively new brand, how wrong could I be! The Rimmel beauty empire consists of everything from mascaras to foundations. In 2001 they exclusively signed the London born world famous model Kate Moss to promote the brand. Making the brand better known as 'Rimmel London'. They aim at making it easy for women to change their identity through make-up, as they put it - 'as easy as hopping on the London Tube and switching from Soho to Camden, from Portobello to Notting Hill.' Well they obviously haven't travelled during the Saturday rush hour!

Anyhow, I have to be honest and say my previous experiences with Rimmel and their London Look has not been great but I thought I would give them the benefit of the doubt and give this a go.

            ** Renew & Lift Firming Foundation **

Rimmel London claim that this foundation -
            * - Helps regenerate & lift skin in just 12 days
            * - Restores radiance for a flawless, dewy finish all day
            * - Contains a time reverse complex.

Now if any cosmetic brand has a 'time reverse complex' then cosmetic surgery would go out of business and people like Elizabeth Taylor would be bathing in the stuff. But they say this is what they have so let's give them the benefit of the doubt.
Priced at around £6.00 (although this varies from shop to shop) if it does have a time reverse complex, blow me down for being so darn cheap! If however it is a standard foundation then this price is pretty average for a cosmetic brand name. It isn't a new foundation and has been out for a few years so I wouldn't expect this to cost any more then £8. You get a decent 30ml solid glass bottle. If you drop it don't worry as it's extremely robust. It comes in 10 shades so there is quite a range to choose from.

This foundation also includes SPF 15. This means it gives your face extra protection from the sun and will help prevent your skin from burning until it has been exposed to 150 times the amount of solar energy that would normally cause it to burn without any protection. Even if the sun isn't at full beam, it is still a wise idea to protect our skin from sun damage as this in itself helps prevent ageing among more serious things such as skin cancer etc.

** What Was It Like To Use? **

Firstly this foundation gets an instant star because of its SPF factor and also the bottle. It dispenses easily from a pump nozzle which means I don't get any under my nails and it squeezes out a perfect small drop. You don't end up wasting any.
The foundation itself is quite thick but spreads well. I found it to be slightly orange (I got classic beige no 201) but it blended well and didn't leave me looking tangoed. It is definitely a high coverage foundation and doesn't give the au natural look so don't try and fool anyone that you look this pretty first thing in the morning! It really smoothes out well on my face and this did give me a flawless and dewy finish so it did live up to that claim. It stayed put on my face throughout the day but dried up slightly on my T zones (forehead & chin) this is because the foundation is quite thick and dried my skin out slightly. But only slightly it still worked well for most of the day.

At the age of 23 my skin doesn't need to be reversed just yet, so I got the opinion of my mum who at 53 wishes she could go back 1o years! This foundation claims to contain peptides and ceraminds. There are scientific claims that these can make a significant difference in terms of how skin cells are produced but there is no evidence that their claims of 'anti-ageing' is actually true. So my mum used this for 12 days as directed and well... there really wasn't a difference. Yes, when the foundation was on the skin did look dewy and thus made the skin look smoother and younger. But once that was taken off it was back to the 53 year old face. (A beautiful one though may I add!). So this 'time reverse complex' is a load of waffle. Our better off giving your face a good skin care regime and hope for the best.

            ** Conclusion **

As a foundation this worked very well, although quite thick it spread well and I advise you that this is a full heavy coverage foundation. It isn't if you just want to cover small blemishes or look make-up free. As I said it doesn't make you look like you have been tangoed but it does give a heavy coverage. It lasts most of the day and makes the skin look very smooth. In terms of the renew and lift claim and time reverse complex I wouldn't believe it for a second. If anything it would be better on younger skin purely for the SPF 15 which helps prevent your skin looking older in the first place!

Rimmel has restored my confidence in foundation in general, however in terms of this foundation doing what it claims o do... it doesn't live up to expectations at all.

              Advantages

              Disadvantages

The good foundation for people wtih in their 30s and 40s.

After several weeks of looking around for a foundation suitable for my skin tone, I decide to try Rimmel Renew and Lift Foundation. The critieria for my selection is that the foundation must not be of matt quality as my skin is not as oily as before, it must not look heavy upon application and it should spread evenly and easily on the skin. Finally, the foundation must have the shade that I need.

I bought the Rimmel Renew and Lift foundation after trying out a few make up foundation in Superdrug. Most foundations are either too matt or pricey and there aren't many foundations with the right shade for my skin tone which falls between beige and honey. I was told that the best way to find the suitable shade is by spreading a little foundation on the back of our hand, below the thumb area. It seems that the skin tone there is closest to our facial skin colour.

Rimmel renew and lift foundation is available in 7 shades and they are; Ivory, Natural Beige, Porcelain, True Ivory, Classic Beige and Warm Honey. The foundation contains peptides and ceramides which are known to help lift and regenerate skin. There is a sunscreen factor of SPF 15 and several other natural minerals that will protect the skin.

The 30ml foundation comes in a glass bottle and the liquid foundation dispense easily from a pump nozzle. I bought the Classic beige shade which is closest to my skin tone. Each pump releases a small drop of liquid which is ideal as there will not be any wastage. The foundation is creamy and it is not too thick. It spread smoothly and easily on the face and it's great as a concealer for blemishes too.

The Rimmel Renew and Lift foundation is available in Boots, Superdrug and some supermarkets. It cost at £7.82 at Superdrug but the price does differ at different shops.

The foundation is great for skin that is going from oily to dry. It does not have the dryness of a matt foundation and yet it is does not make my face look shining and oily.

Glad to have found this foundation.

              Advantages

              Disadvantages

              Would definately recommend.

Really good foundation; great coverage of dark circles and blemishes and blends well without appearing too orange. You get a generous amount for your money and you don't need to worry about constantly reapplying it all day, as it's thick enough and covers imperfections well enough to only apply once a day. Does exactly what it says on the tin; It eliminates dark circles and makes you appeal far less tired regardless of how rough you feel. I applied it and my skin looked immediately brighter and more healthy, without it being horribly obvious that I was wearing foundation which for me is always a massive plus. While not neccessarily pale enough for my skin tone (I am very very pale and even the lightest shade is too dark for me) I would definately recommend you give this foundation a try, as the coverage it gives is virtually flawless and a tiny bit of foundation really does go a long way.

              Advantages

              Disadvantages

Great allover coverage and lasts all day

I have used this foundation for over a year now, initially I thought it was a little pricy for a Rimmel foundation but as someone who has struggled for many years to find that perfect flawless look I thought I'd give this one a try. It is amazing. It covers the dark circles under my eyes without having to use a separate concealer and even covers the occasional spot or blemish. It also stays on all day without me having to reapply which is a miracle because before using this product, by lunchtime, I'd look like I'd left the house without applying my foundation. I've got combination skin and have found that other foundations tend to make my oily bits more oily, but this one works just fine. The only problem I have with it is that it seems to run out (nothing or very little comes out of the pump) but there is still lots left in the bottle but I remedy this by unscrewing the top and using the 'stick' to scrape round the bottle, I find that I can make it last for at least 2 weeks longer this way. I was recently tempted by a mineral foundation by the same brand but after a couple of days returned to this one.
