Rimmel ScandalEyes Mascara
Advantages: The brush, often included on deals.
I bought this mascara as part of a two for one offer at Tesco, so although the RRP was £5.99, it worked out a lot cheaper this way.
Now this isn't my only mascara, as I use 2-3 different types of mascara to get the effect I want but I use it because it's very good at certain things.
I use this one as an undercoat to separate my lashes, leave it to dry and then put a more moisturising mascara over the top and then use this wand to finish the look by separating my lashes.
The brush is a plastic cylinder with small plastic spikes off it, with a ball on the end again with spikes on it.
Now although I use makeup daily I'm not exactly what all the features are meant to be for, but here is what they do for me.
Hard spikes: Allow for separation of the lashes, fanning them out to look long and not clumpy.
Hollows between spikes: Allow for accumulation of the black mascara, so there is more put onto the lashes when you sweep through them. Which would imply more volume for the lashes.
The ball on the end of the wand: Makes it easier to get to the hard to reach places like the small lashes near the inner side of the eye.
A nice bright pink makes a lovely addition to your make up bag, a fashionable accessory even.
It's also quite chunky which makes it quite easy to hold and manoeuvre, you can get more of a grip on it which I like.
The screw cap keeps it clean, some mascaras can get clumped around the top of the bottle making it hard to open and close however this has a seal that stops this.
THE LIQUID MASCARA
It's of quite a thick consistency which means one application puts enough on your lashes to make them look, longer thicker and fuller.
However and this is the downside, it does dry quickly and it 'dries, dry'- to explain this it goes almost flakey and brittle once applied which makes it hard to apply any further coats throughout the day and you do need to as it flakes off.
VALUE FOR MONEY
Firstly it does last a long time, I've had mine approximately 3 weeks and I use plenty of it every day without fail and more in the evenings. The 12ML tube goes further than most other 12ML mascaras I have used in the past.
It's the brush I like most, so it has a brilliant value for money if you keep the brush and use it with other cheaper mascaras that may have a better quality black gel but a poorer brush.
I would recommend this product for the brush however the mascara inside seems a bit cheap as it flakes off a lot and doesn't last the whole day.
Summary: A good brush, use it in another mascara.
