Advantages: Cheap but reasonable quality
Disadvantages: Clumped eyelashes
The purple-blue colour of this mascara was what drew my attention to it. I like Rimmel products so when this caught my eye I took a closer look.
First of all the tube itself is an attractive shape and I liked the feel of it. It is curvy and smooth which is what I would have expected from the mascara. It says on the tube that it makes eyelashes curved and thick, so I bought it at £3.99 from our local chemist shop.
The applicator wand is flexible and easy to use and I found it easy to get a good even coating of mascara on all my eyelashes. I hate applicator wands that have hard, pointy bits at the end and can quite easily poke me in the corner of the eye. I think most girls have done that sometime as they applied their mascara and ended up with their going all red and watering so much that there was no alternative but to remove the lot and start again.
So, I had no problem with the application but I did notice that what ever I tried to do with the applicator as I applied the second layer, I couldn't stop my eyelashes clumping together. Now, I really hate this. I like to have separated eyelashes.
The ends of the lashes did have a nice curve to them but I don't think they looked any longer. I do have long eyelashes anyway so I supposed I wouldn't notice the difference unless it was dramatic.
This product is really easy to remove with eye makeup remover pads and it doesn't smudge easily. Overall it was worth what I paid for it and I will continue to use it until it is finished but I wouldn't buy it again because of the clumped lashes.
Summary: Good value if you don't mind your eyelashes being in clumps instead of single
