Advantages: Good for drawing dramatic lines, good price

Disadvantages: Very smudgy, needs constant sharpening

Rimmel has always been one of my most trusted make up brands, and its soft kohl kajal eye pencil has been something I have frequently gone to the Rimmel counter to buy. Some views on this:

- Very easy to apply, even easier so than other eye liners because of it being a soft kohl pencil, and this made it easy to draw on a dark, dramatic line with minimum effort. However, this meant that it was easy to overdo, and smudged very easily. I found that with this I had to remove and reapply about every two hours to avoid what I call the panda effect, which was quite an inconvenience... But of course this varies on how much eyeliner you decide to apply in the first place

- The tip of the pencil has to be sharpened quite regularly- more so than its 'Special Eyes' eyeliner, so I had to make sure to carry an eyeliner sharpener around with me. A valuable lesson I learnt whilst carrying this eyeliner around with me in my bag is to always put the lid on the pencil, and MAKE SURE IT STAY ON FIRMLY- as when I went to retrieve it, the eyeliner was lying there, severely blunt and totally unusable. What was more annoying was the fact that it had blackened the rest of the contents of my bag with the smudges of black kohl.

- It has a considerably low price for a major makeup retailer; and with Rimmel's constant 3 for 2 and special offers it is very convenient for me to keep topping up on these useful eyeliners.

In conclusion, this is what I would say is a regular eyeliner- not out of the ordinary but not excessively bad either. I find that it is better used for drawing dramatic lines that would be harder to achieve with a normal tool and with its good price and wide range of colours available, I would recommend this product with 4 stars.

Summary: Good price for an OK eyeliner
