As you may have gathered from many of my other reviews by now, I do love my lip glosses. I must admit that I do not wear them all the time, but I see them as an essential on nights out or when you are dressing up for an occasion. I love lip stick too, but lip glosses are just so much easier to deal with. I received a Rimmel Sweet Jelly Sheer Lip Gloss once from a from as a gift, however if you want to pick one up yourself I would assume that they are priced between £3 to £5 as most Rimmel products are. However, I have not seen any around for a while so they may have stopped selling them in shops, but they are available on Amazon priced between £1.95 and £2.50 which is a steal!
The colour I received my lip gloss in was 160 Candy Floss which was a baby pink to coral shade, and is the perfect colour for me. It is a very wearable shade and looks fantastic in the summer. However there is a wide range of shades to choose from if this is not the colour for you so it is worth checking out. You also get five grams worth of lip gloss which is pretty impressive!
This is the kind of lip gloss which you have to squeeze out on to your lips as opposed to applying it with a brush. I find this a bit more of a hassle, however it is worth ago. To apply it you have to squeeze a tiny bit out and just apply straight to the lips. Alternatively, you can squeeze it out on to your finger tips and apply it to the lips that way which I sometimes find a lot easier! Once applied, rub your lips together and voila! It is simple to apply, but how good were the results?
This is a sheer lip gloss, and this did mean that the results were a little bit watery. Despite this, it does make your lips look very juicy, and even a little bit plumper than before. The results are very peachy, for day time or night time use, and I was very impressed with it! Another thing I liked about it was the taste of it strangely enough. When you apply lip gloss, sometimes it has a yucky taste and it is not nice to go through the day with it on, however this has a quite fruity taste to it, and I enjoy applying it to the lips.
Another plus is that it does last well throughout the day, and you are not constantly having to reapply it. However, the drawback of this lip gloss is that it can get a little bit sticky if you have been wearing it for a considerable amount of time, and you can end up with your hair all stuck to your lips on a windy day which as you know is not the best look!
Despite this, I am extremely happy with this Sweet Jelly lip gloss from Rimmel, and it is a shame that they are not around on the high street anymore, so if you are interested have a scour of the internet for this little bargain, as it is well worth the small price tag! Thanks for reading.
I'm a lover of all things sweet an also of make-up. Seriously I couldn't go out of the house without my lips being shiny or a nice matt pink or red. I love standing out, I feel vintage! These lip glosses are amazing and so easy to carry around, but they do have their positives and negatives I suppose.
These lip glosses are gorgeous, I have quite a few of them but my favourite is 050 Jammy. I like it that much and the taste is so good, I find myself licking it off my lips! I must be hungry! It isn't too sticky either, you seem to find that with some that when the wind blows your hair gets attached onto your lips, but not with this! The wind blows but it is a little watery but not in a bad way. These come in little tubes as you can see from the image above. But, what I would say about these is that they have a tendency to leak which is not good as it can ruin the linig of make up bags or even handbags and everything sticks to it!
You can buy these from Boots for around £2.00, it is worth it for the quality believe me!
This is definitely one to try if lip glosses are your kind of thing, they also make a great present too!
In not really a big lip gloss wearer as i find it quite sticky and i prefer lip balms. But last christmas i received a rimmel gift set which contained one of these Sweet Jelly Sheer Lipgloss.
I dont think this lipgloss is available in the shops anymore as they've replaced it with the Royal Jelly Lipgloss. But it is available online for around a fiver. The lipgloss i own is clear, but it is also available in a variety of shades in pinks, reds and orangey colours.
The tube is alot like many other tubed lipglossed with a plastic slanted edge which means you can cover your whole lip in one use, and slightly squeeze as you do so. The only problem with these kinds of lip gloss tubes is that when you've used more than half of the gloss its very hard to squeeze it out.
The lipgloss itself is very sticky, but it does give a good shine making your lips look fuller and juicier. The reason the lipgloss is called 'Sweet Jelly' is becayse it does have a very strong sweet taste to it. I know alot of people that love the taste but i personally hated it!!! Everytime i accidentally licked my lips i wanted to shudder, iot weas just too sweet and tasted gross.
Overall, i would recommend the lipgloss if you can get it cheaply, but i wouldnt pay for it because it is very sticky and not very nice tasting. However, it does make lips look fuller and juicier ansd lasts a long time.
