“ Brand: Rimmel / Type: Polish / Suitable for: Lip „
I have a friend who is my make up loader, if I buy products that I don't like, I off load on her, likewise if she buys items she doesn't get on with, she off loads onto me. This was an offloading present and I am now looking for a candidate to offload it onto now!!
The pen itself is a long thin shape with a twisting bottom and a lid that pops of the top. You can see the colour through the pen and this wasn't a good thing for me to begin with. I am not sure what colours this range come in but the shade I was given was Rossetto. This is a deep red, red is not really my thing but I was told 'it comes out a lighter colour as it is gloss'! I decided to give it a go after all, I hadn't paid for it and who knows it might be great!
The sponge applicator is just horrible, it feels nasty, it has a horrible texture and is too jellylike for me. After twisting the end slowly, nothing was happening, so I twisted a little more, still nothing, gingerly I twisted again to be rewarded with a huge blob of goo on the sponge. There is no way you can judge how much product will come out and when with this, you can give it a small turn and tons comes out, do it gently and nothing for ages then it all comes out at once. This loses stars for me because you waste more than you use, unless you can twist it into a small separate pot and use it that way.
I found it had a very odd smell to it as well; it was sickly cherry with some other smell mixed in, unsure what that is though. The taste wasn't horrible but the feel of it was. It is quite thick and sticky and didn't glide onto the lips nicely; it went on very uneven and patchy. The colour was watered down because of the gloss but that doesn't really make me warm to it though. It doesn't feel nice on either and I defiantly wouldn't kiss, eat or drink in it or everything will be covered. I am glad I didn't waste money buying this like my friend, I won't be wearing it again and if anyone wants it, you are more than welcome to it.
I bought this product 'Rimmel Twist and Shine lip polish' and I thort the colour on my lips were stunning. I will describe myself to you, I am a mixed race girl with carmel like skin so i found the colours that rimmel used to be quite striking against my skin tone. I especially like no.10 which suit smy skin tone perfectly. Some disadvantages to this lip gloss is that i love when you first buy it the sponge part is beautiful and white and it is not long after the first application when it starts to get messy to apply especially is you twist too much lip gloss on the brush and you already have too much on your lips! So do not get excited and twist away because not only is it messy but your wasting the product thart you spent your hard spent cash on! I like it overall.
I don't like wearing lipsticks a they feel too heavy on my lips bit I do like wearing glosses for a nice shiny appearance for my mouth and I don't mind if they have colour in or are clear as long as my lips feel moisturised when go out.
So when I saw this 'Rimmel Twist and Shine' in Poundland I thought 'Bargain' and snapped it up!
I have tried these before although when they first came out they were around £6 in Boots so this was a great price for something that has colour within the product as well as a shiny gloss that hydrates the lips too :)
The plastic tube itself is designed to twist up from the bottom and it has a sponge applicator that starts off soft and white under a see through plastic lid.
The tube is about five inches long and is like a thick pencil shape; it contains 1.4 ml of liquid colour and is made in the USA although it is sold under the Rimmel London brand name.
I really liked this lipstick style Lip Polish as it is called as it glides on really smoothly and the colour stays on for ages.
My shade is Rossetto which is a deep red but of course it does not come out of the applicator blood red as there is a lot of liquid gloss in there too mixed in with the formula.
This is quite sticky at first but does set pretty quickly, I blot a bit off with tissue to stop it staining my teeth then brush a tiny bit over again to put another setting coat on it...
At the top of the sponge applicator there are loads of tiny holes for the polish to push through and it is shaped like an oval so it is easy to apply.
This is a really nice quality shimmery product that lasts a while on the lips; I can recommend giving this polish a go for your lips, and especially if you can get it at such a bargain price!
Five stars for this smooth slick gloss that is lighter than a lipstick but has pigment in too to colour the lips :)
Glides on easy for shimmery, non-sticky lips /
