I have a very large selection of lip glosses and the Rimmel Vinyl Lip Gloss is one that I like a lot, although it isn't my absolute favourite.
The shade that I am reviewing is called “SNOG” and is number 330 in this range. The colour is one of my favourites being a dull kind of pink shade.
I think this lip gloss is most suited to evening wear because it doesn't feel light on the lips and I like a very natural feel for the day time but if I'm going out then I don’t mind feeling a little more “made up.”
It really is lovely to apply. The screw on lid contains the thin stick with a shaped applicator sponge on its end. I can give a good shape to my lips with this applicator.
The shade that I have on at the moment, for reviewing purposes, isn't too dark. At my age I don’t want to look overly made up. I think that this shade is perfect as it is noticeable but still fairly natural.
The texture of the gloss is quite thick and once applied it does look lovely and glossy and has a high shine.
As with most lip glosses, in my experience, it won’t last for an entire evening out without it needing to being added to maybe once or twice but it does still last quite well.
For me the only drawback is that I can feel it on my lips and after a while it makes my lips feel a bit on the dry side. I have a preference for an oily feel to a lip gloss rather than a waxier, thicker and more solid vinyl feel.
Rimmel Vinyl Gloss lip gloss is readily available. I purchased mine from Boots and I paid £4.99.
I love to wear lip gloss and am definitely a lip gloss girl as opposed to a lipstick girl. I love the gloss and the shine I can get from lipgloss and also the way it stays on during the day as opposed to lipstick which always looks a bit old after a while on my lips.
This lipgloss from Rimmel is one of my favourite ones. On the tube it describes it as a voluptuously shiny lipgloss. Rimmel say, "our iconic lip gloss, Vinyl Gloss, now has a great shine magnifying formula for beautiful juicy looking lips that are bursting with colour. Its pampering technology features a boosted magnifying Vinyl Shine Complex for a perfectly sculpted pout that is up to 80% shinier! The formula also boasts incredible light refraction and high colour retention for incredibly sexy lips that are sure to catch attention."
The lip gloss comes in a clear tube so you can see the colour inside which is nice as this is how I chose the nice brown shade of Cosmic that I went for. It's a lovely browny bronze colour but it also has a hint of dark pink in it. It really looks great on my lips as it has a bit of a shimmer look to it too and really brings the colour of my lips out too. There are lots of other colours available too which is nice so you really get a big choice depending on what looks good with your skin tone.
At the top of the tube is a black lid which when you pull it out contains the wand which you use to apply the lipgloss. The wand has a soft tip applicator on it which is angled so I find it smoothes onto the lips really well. The soft tip has quite a bit of the product soaked into it so you only need a little bit on your lips when you apply it to get a really nice even colour.
The product is nice and glossy but its not sticky which is nice, the colour holds for quite a long time and I find that it actually takes to my lips really well and brings out the colour of my lips nicely. Although the shine does go when you eat or drink after a while, you can reapply and the shine is back again.
A stick only costs £4.99 which I think is a great price as if you compare it to more expensive brands I cannot really see much of a difference, it definitely performs better than its £4.99 price tag. All in all, a really nice lipgloss from Rimmel.
My daughter bought this lip gloss for me a few weeks ago. She bought it as a gift and I was really happy with it as it's a lovely colour. On the lid it has the code 110 and Keep A Secret so I assume that that is what this particular shade is called.
It comes in a long glass tube like most lip glosses. It has a black lid and silver writing and I have to admit it looks a bit cheap but at £4.99 I guess that is quite cheap compared to many other brands.
The lip gloss is a lovely colour. It's a peachy pink and has little shimmery bits in it which look really effective when you put it on. To put it on it's really easy, you simply twist the lid and then the wand is attached to it. It's quite a long wand and the little spongy bit is really thin which makes it really easy to apply. The gloss is a little sticky at first but then seems to wear off and just remains shiny. I like this lip gloss because the shade is nice, it just lifts my lips a little and the shine it really makes it special, it's not really sparkly, it's not like I've put glitter on my lips but it is a nice, more subtle effect.
My only problem with this is it has little staying power. I have to regularly reapply it and if I am drinking it really doesn't stay on long at all.
I will use this brand again, for £4.99 it's fine and the shade is nice. It isn't as good as my Clinique but having said that this is an awful lot cheaper so I shouldn't really complain.
This is by far one of my favorite lip glosses. I was looking for a natural nude tone, which i could wear on its own during the day and to sweep over lipstick at night to make my lips very glossy, and this works perfectly.
The lip gloss comes in a plastic tube with a black screw on lid, the brand name and product details are around the tube in silver writing. I bought the lip gloss in the shade Paparazzi, which is a nude colour with a slight shimmer in it; the thin shimmer not the clumpy glitter effect, but it is sold in a lot more colours.
During the day I like to wear this lip gloss on its own as the colour is very natural but the glitter has a nice shimmer girly effect creating a lovely day time look. For night I like to wear a bright pink lipstick with this on top as it slightly tones down the colour whilst adding a gloss and shimmer, really making your lips pop.
I like the texture of this lip gloss, it goes on very smoothly hydrating your lips and keeping them very smooth. The gloss is also a nice texture not leaving a sticky residue on your lips which really gets on my nerves as my hair is always getting stuck in it. The gloss wears off after about 2 hours, but even once that has gone you can still feel it hydrating your lips as they are still very smooth. I do like to apply a thin layer of lip balm underneath it as if your lips are slightly chapped, the gloss emphasizes this, so its better allowing your lips to be over hydrated than under hydrated not leaving your lips looking as smooth as you would like.
Overall i would definitely recommend this lip gloss, it has a nice shine, the glitter is not too overpowering and it is not sticky, everything i look for in a lip gloss, and it is only £4.99. I love it.
My daughter is of an age now where make up is becoming increasingly important to her (even though i have told her she is naturally beautifully!), but as with all little girls she seems intent on using the brightest colours in the largest quantities, so i am trying to help tone down the coco the clown look she has been sporting recently!
After a recent shopping trip with her "BFF", yeah i'm down with the kids, she came back with a rather classy looking selection of products all of which were in really nice muted tones, but still being glitzy enough to look and feel glammed up for her.
My daughter loves lipsticks but hasn't quite mastered the application, so i have been encouraging her to try glosses and balms, so any messy application is more effectively hidden, as is the case with this lip gloss too!
The colour in particular i am reviewing is called "papparazzi", which to a young girl seemed very appealing, with the colour (a lovely light peach colour with the briefest of glitter/shimmer), really appealing to an over protective mother like myself!
This is a brand i am familiar with, using this myself a fair bit, but the actual gloss is a new one to me, so after a little research the item is described as -
Rimmel's iconic lip gloss, Vinyl Gloss, now has a great shine magnifying formula for beautiful juicy looking lips that are bursting with colour. Its pampering technology features a boosted magnifying Vinyl Shine Complex for a perfectly sculpted pout that is up to 80% shinier!
The formula also boasts incredible light refraction and high colour retention for incredibly sexy lips that are sure to catch attention.

In the real world this gloss offers a lovely shine to the lips, though i cannot comment on the vibrancy of colour as this particular shade offered more shine and and a lovely light colour, that suited not only my daughters blonde/fair skin, but also looked good on myself, again fair skinned but very dark haired.
To apply it has the bog standard brush applicator, that once removed from the tube holds just enough for one lips coating, with you needing very little skill to apply it (thankfully!).
It feels lovely and smooth once applied (even with the glimmer in it), and has a pleasant enough taste to it, and a delicious almost vanilla scent, i have a real thing for unpleasant tasting/ smelling lip products, with Avon being the worst culprits!
The shine is quite distinctive looking, and indeed much mirror like than many other glosses i have used, but not quite as good as the product describes, though make up rarely does live up to the hype!
Longevity wise it does have a fair amount of staying power, being slightly sticky in consistency, and staying on the lips for a reasonable time, and even when the gloss starts to dissapear the glimmer is left on the lips for a while after.
Price wise this was purchased for £2.99 from Superdrugs, though is available for a few pennies less from www.amazon.co.uk, in a wide selection of colours.
Thanks for reading x
These lip glosses from Rimmel have been around since I first starting wearing make-up over ten years ago. The packaging has changed since then, and they have snuck up in price slightly over the years, but for me they still represent excellent value even now. I have spent much more on lip glosses which have proved to be lacking in some way or other, so for £4.99 you can be confident that you are getting a decent product at a very good price.
The lip gloss is available from all Rimmel stockists, including some supermarkets, Superdrug, and Boots. They currently cost £4.99, although Boots are currently running a 3-for-2 on Rimmel cosmetics alongside your advantage points, so if you're considering buying I would recommend Boots.
The lip gloss is available in a wide range of shades, which vary between beige/browns, pinks, purples, coral, and a bolder red. This makes it very easy to find a suitable shade, whatever your skin colour or complexion. I own a couple of these, one is a brown/beige colour, and the other is deep pink. The packaging is quite classy looking for a budget brand, with the silver writing complementing the black lid. I've had mine so long the writing has nearly all rubbed off now, after carrying them in my handbag on nights out, which makes me think it's probably time I bought some new ones for hygiene reasons!
Application of the lip gloss is via the wand, and as with most lip glosses you just have to be careful that you don't have excess product on the wand before you start applying it. I usually just give it a wipe on the top of the tube before applying. The wand feels really comfortable on my lips, which might be a strange thing to comment on, but I've used lip glosses before where the wand feels scratchy or weird.
The colour and shine from this lip gloss is by far my favourite of all the lip glosses I've ever tried. I only tend to use neutral or slightly pink colours due to my pale complexion, so I can't comment on the braver colours such as the reds, but the colours I own give a lovely subtle flattering colour, which is matched by a lovely shine which finishes the lips off nicely. The product description claims it "refracts light" which is why it makes your lips so shiny. I find it gives the perfect amount of shine, without making you look like a Barbie doll, so much in fact that I sometimes wear this lip gloss in the day as well as evening, which is something I wouldn't do with other lip glosses as they make me feel a bit too "made up".
The sensation of wearing this lip gloss is not an unpleasant one. Although I'm aware it's there, and try not to lick my lips too much, it isn't overly sticky or gloopy. If anything, it just makes my lips feel wet and to be honest it feels quite nice as it makes me feel more feminine. It has a slight sweet fragrance to it, but nothing overwhelming or sickly sweet.
As for staying power, I don't tend to expect much from lip gloss in general, because due to its nature it can wear off really easily. I won't claim that this lasts all day, but it lasts noticeably longer than other lip glosses I have used. I would say I can get away with a good few hours before needing to reapply this, depending on what I'm doing (eating/drinking etc), and it's the shine that disappears before the colour. Sometimes I just top up with clear Vaseline to add a bit of shine to the colour which outlasts the shine.
Overall, these are excellent value lip glosses, which in my opinion perform as well as, if not better than some of the more expensive varieties.

I have recently purchased a tube of Rimmel Vinyl Gloss from my local Boots and being that the item was priced at £3.99 I considered this a good purchase given the fact that a number of lip glosses can be considerably more. I am a big fan of Rimmel products, being that they offer good quality and up to date looks for a cut of some more costly brands and was keen to try out my new purchase.
The Rimmel Vinyl Gloss comes in a variety of colours which are covered in the 16 shades available however, being a girl that likes the subtle look I chose the nude coloured 'Take a Chance' number 130 as my preference. I bought my gloss in Boots although understand that they can also be found in Superdrug depending on your shopping preferences.
The lip gloss is presented in a modern slender transparent tube with a black lid and shiny silver writing, the transparency being important to show the coloured gloss inside and contains 24ml of substance. The gloss itself sparkles in a very provocative way under the store lighting with sections of glitter particles. The lid screws open to reveal a thin sponge applicator for easy and precise application.
The Product ~
The lip gloss is rather thick in consistency although no more so than many of the other brands I have tried in the past. It goes on well with the applicator, indeed even a little too well when first opened. Upon application the gloss leaves a wet look finish and feels slightly sticky although not too heavy on the lips. Unlike many other lip products on the market this gloss does not taste of anything which is an added bonus.
My Experience ~
As someone with a job that means I travel long distances, I often find myself applying this gloss first thing in the morning when I get into my car. This may be deemed slightly wasteful given the long distances I travel however I like to get my makeup 'done' when I leave the house especially in these darker winter mornings. Although the gloss is highly shiny upon leaving the house I often find that with the obligatory singing along to the radio the gloss can be reduced to a thin sparkle by the time I arrive at work which means re-applying is necessary.
In my experience this is a product that is best applied when doing a stationary activity. If drinking, eating or just generally walking around on a windswept day the glossy finish does tend to wear off pretty quickly. Therefore if you are after a good value pick me up or are simply good at remembering to keep re-applying your lip gloss then this is great for you. If, like me, you enjoy makeup with minimal fuss but rather hardy then I would advise buying a slightly more expensive brand which stays put.
All in all this is a 3 star product.
Thank-you for taking the time to read my review.

I got this free in a competition I won and was chuffed as it was the perfect shade and also it was brand new and I was in need of a lipgloss so it saved me a few pounds.
The lipgloss comes in a little plastic tube, just a little bit taller than my middle finger.
The plastic is clear where the lipgloss is sealed so you can easily see the colour.
The lid is screw top and is black and slants at the top, it has the Rimmel logo printed on top.
Spread over the tube is the name of the lipgloss, the Rimmel logo on the silver strip travelling around the tube and information on the product.
In the tube there is 8ml of lipgloss.
The wand stick is black and quite thick, the actual wand is pink and very very big, its quite thick actually and considering the product is quite new, it looks very old fashioned.
Appearance wise I think its okay, average I guess.
I am yet to see a lipgloss which looks different to the majority of them on the shelves.
The lipgloss can be purchased from around £4.00-6.00 depending on where you buy it, obviously its cheaper on local markets and online than in an actual store.
The lipgloss promises full max shine, it promises to keep your lips soft and smooth whilst magnifying and intensifying volume and colour.
The shade which I have is Excess, ( thats all I can find! ) the lipgloss is easy enough to screw open, the lipgloss gathers up on the bottom of the wand which I thought was disappointing but when you have the lipgloss on your lips, you see why it gathered at the bottom, the way the wand looks is strange because in actual fact I found myself only using the tip of the wand.
The colour is not as intense as it looks in the tube, it barely comes across on my lips, its mostly clear with just a few hints of pink thrown in there.
The shine off the lipgloss is WOW, it is very shiny and really does dazzle in the light, its a very eye catching lipgloss and draws attention to your lips.
When on it looks like there is lots of specks of sparkle in it, it glimmers very much.
I find this lipgloss is best for night time as during the day it is way too harsh in daylight and for a natural look! If your bold though and want very shiny shimmery lips go for this.
As for sticking I think this is the best lipgloss I have come across for not sticking, its very smooth on my lips, doesn't rub off easily and I never leave marks on glasses or cups! I can kiss my OH without transferring all of my lipgloss onto him!
When opening up the lipgloss has a horrible smell, some may like it but its not for me, I find it quite 'chemical' smelling, but when on lips you can not taste it or smell it. I also found it gave a soothing feeling to my lips!
I have had mine a few months now, use it a few times a week and have not run out.
OK, is anyone out there searching for a lip gloss that has the most perfect, soft brown shade with exactly the right amount of shine? Well, I think I might have found just what you're looking for. Oh, and it's also a brilliant product, and excellent value for money. I love it so much I've just popped out to eBay to buy myself a spare.
Rimmel Vinyl Gloss is a product that has been available from Rimmel London for quite a while now, but they have recently updated their packaging. The older, round tube - which is what is being shown in the Dooyoo photograph - has now been replaced by something much more modern and elegant. The tube is now longer, and is narrower at the base than at the top of the lid. It's a clear tube, so that you can see the colour of your lip gloss, and the words 'Vinyl Gloss, Voluptuously Shiny Lipgloss' are written in silver lettering. There is a label on the black lid that gives you both the shade number and name - in this case, 730 Cosmic. The lip gloss comes in 16 shades, with a wide variety of colours to suit all tastes.
Anyone who knows me will know my love of lipsticks and lip glosses, but in this product I really think I've found my absolute favourite. Cosmic is a soft, gentle brown that perfectly suits my fair skin. One coat gives me a delicate, glossy covering, with quite a sheer colour, while adding another coat enhances both colour and shine.
Unscrewing the lid reveals the sponge-tip applicator. The gloss glides on easily, and although various claims have been made about the fact that this product is not sticky, I think it is - but only very slightly, and I did not find this a problem. It certainly doesn't come under the category of 'gloopy'! The gloss has a very slight fragrance, quite sweet, but doesn't taste of anything.
The 6ml tube is widely available online (I've just bought one from eBay for £2.99), and also from Boots, who currently stock all 16 shades for £4.99. They are running an offer (as of 29th August) of a 'Free gift when you spend £6 or more on selected Rimmel'. This gift appears to be Rimmel Glam Eyes Liquid Eye Liner. ASOS also sell it for £4.99, with free shipping. Amazon have the Cosmic shade available for £2.25 plus £1.67 shipping.
A detailed description of this product can be found on Rimmel's own website, and also on boots.com. Rimmel's website gives the following information: 'Vinyl Gloss now has a great shine magnifying formula for beautiful juicy looking lips that are bursting with colour. Its technology features a boosted magnifying Vinyl Shine Complex for a perfectly sculpted pout that is up to 80% shinier! The formula also boasts incredible light refraction and high colour retention. It's the ultimate in glossy glamour with lips up to 40% curvier.'
While Rimmel London might be considered one of the more budget brands of make-up, I think their Vinyl Gloss compares very favourably with much more expensive, premium brand lip glosses.
To be honest, I'm not quite sure why I ever buy anything else - Rimmel's Vinyl Gloss really is my all-time favourite lip gloss. It's an excellent product, brilliant value, and I am more than happy to give it five stars.
(This review is also on Ciao, under the same user name.)
Now don't get me wrong, I am quite the big fan of my lip glosses. I tend to purchase cheaper ones as they often go off quickly and can run out at a fast rate. I picked up this Rimmel Vinyl Lip Gloss in Poundland would you believe?! I was not sure if it was completely legit, but they were selling the exact same ones in Boots for £4.50. I think the reason I saved myself £3.50 is because they have now changed the packaging for these and modernised them a little more, but I was happy to save myself that much.
I brought a clear lip gloss and a mid brown colour, as I felt that these would be fairly wearable within the day and night, and these were the only decent shades available where I purchased them. However, in Boots there was a whole host of different shades to opt for, and I would say that there was something for everyone.
I found this lip gloss very easy to apply, as the liquid inside was not too gloopy and the applicator picked up a decent amount of it before applying to the lips. The applicator was a nice, manageable size and applied on to the lips neatly and easily which I was very impressed with. Something I noticed when applying the brown shade was that it had a rather nice scent to it, which was slightly orange smelling, and something I have noticed with many other Rimmel products before, such as their foundations.
Once applied, the lip gloss did look lovely. I was not too keen on the clear one as it did not do much for my lips, however the brown one did compliment my skin tone very well. But one thing is for sure, this vinyl lip colour really does give you that extra added shine. In fact, I would go as far as to say you get a little too much shine with it, and it is quite noticeable to other people. A little bit of shine on your lips can be very complimentary, however this is too much and looks a bit silly, even when you do not apply too much of it.
Another thing to note is that it is extremely sticky. I have long hair and if there is anything I despise, it is when you go out on a windy day and your hair gets stuck to your lip gloss. Beware, as this is a frequent ocassion if you are purchasing this, but not only that, it is just very sticky and thick on your lips, and I prefer wearing lip glosses which are barely noticeable to you that you are wearing them. If you put your lips together, they made a slight sticking motion and I was very unimpressed with this, particularly with something from a brand as good as Rimmel.
It is fair to say that I was not at all happy with this lip gloss, and despite getting a good bargain on it, it is unlikely that I will ever repurchase it again. Once again, there is a great range of shades to choose from, but if you can bear that overpowering shine and the super stickiness then go for it. But be warned, I would not wear this product of the daytime unless you want to look silly and get all of the attention! Thanks for reading and I hope this helps.
This lip gloss is ok but not the best.
I paid £4.99 for it which is about average for a lip gloss so even though I don't use it often I haven't spent a lot of money on it. I usually find that most lipglosses are very sticky and this one is no exception.
It is not very nice to apply although it does go on smoothly but because it is so sticky it doesn't feel like it moisturises my lips and the brush sticks a little bit as I apply it. I think this lip gloss is a bit stickier than others I have tried so I wouldn't recommend it. It also makes my hair stick to it if out in any wind which is annoying but find this happens with most lipglosses.
One of the things that I like about it though is that it comes in a wide range of colours. There are some very pinky ones and also more brown looking ones. I choose quite a natural pink/brown colour which is a good colour for daytime as it is subtle but leaves me lips looking shiny and healthy. I also find it good to use over lipstick to make it look shiny as the neutral colour goes well with any colour lipstick underneath.
I also like the fact that this lipgloss is very shiny. It leaves a very wet shiny look but I find that it only lasts about an hour as it doesn't have good staying power especially if you eat or drink.
I love rimmel products, and buy them all the time (the offers at Boots are great) so after running out of my previous lipgloss i opted for Rimmels Vinyl Lipgloss
The packaging is very stylish and neat looking, with a clear plastic so you can see the actual colour- and how much you have left. the top or handle is a basic black shiny top with rounded edges. the packaging is very attractive and would stand out, and looks good when lines up in all the different colours available.
The colour choices are good, but not as good as some of their previous lipglosses and i chose a nice pink shade almost the same colour as my old one.
I was a bit apprehensive as it advertises itself as "Vinyl" which i thought could look a bit strange, but really it is just the same as any other lipgloss. The colour looks great and it is long lasting, so less applications are needed
this lipgloss is quite sticky - if im wearing it and i plant a smacker on my boyfriends lips, it sticks to his, and he hates it. it also leaves marks on glasses when drinking, which i get embarrased about
A problem with the long lasting effects of this lipgloss make it a bit difficult to take off, but with a moistened wipe, it comes of after a while.
I recommend this product to any lipgloss lover like me! its cheap and easy to pick up in your local boots!
I brought my Rimmel Vinyl stars mirror shine lip gloss about 3 months ago and I have just about run out. I only have that annoying thin layer stuck to the inside of the tube left, and as hard as I try to bend the brush I don't think it is possible to grab those last drops.
The tube is a clear plastic which is quite thick, so safe to keep in your handbag without the risk of if leaking. It has a dark metallic purple coloured lid that you screw to the right to open. It has one of those annoying price labels stuck to this part and after several failed attempts I gave up trying to peel it off. I know that the barcode sticker does not bother some people but I just had to get rid of it.
I brought the gloss in my local Boots store for £4.75. Not bad considering that I wear it everyday and it has lasted 3 months, but I believe you can buy it for £4.20 from amazon, so it pays to shop around. The gloss is easy to apply. Once you remove the applicator wand (which is a white stick with a foam brush on the end) from the gloss evenly apply over lips. Not much is needed to give the "wet" look effect that I like to go for. But it really is your choice on how thick of thin you want to apply the gloss.
The Gloss is pink in colour in the tub with speckles of glitter inside. I found that the glitter is great at first but after you have been wearing the gloss for a while, the glitter seems to travel to the edge of your lips or worse can make its way down on to your teeth. Not pretty, You can overcome the problem with regular applications of the gloss.
Also the gloss is rather sticky and on a windy day if my hair is blown into my face it sticks fast and makes my hair go stiff and horrible. But then I find that this happens with most glosses and it would be wrong to blame this gloss alone for bad hair days.
In all the gloss is pretty good, I love the effect it gives my lips. I wish it lasted longer but them maybe that's just me being greedy. But in all its cheaper then other lip glosses and has the same desired effect. I have also found that a layer of the gloss protects my lips from the cold. Not one case of cracked of split lips over winter. I would give the gloss 4/5 stars. It loses a star for being sticky and for covering my partner in glitter when I kiss him goodbye for work. But then again I do like to leave my mark ;-).
Thanks for reading.
I recieved this for my birthday last year and found it at the bottom of a drawer today. I had found the shade, 'Crystal Clear' a transparent shade, of course!
~Packaging and Appearance~
Rimmel Vinyl Lipgloss comes in a long transparant plastic tube, so you can see which shade is inside. Each tube is quite compact, so you can carry it inside your handbag or clutch. 'Rimmel' and 'Vinyl Gloss' are on the tube in silver writing and 'Vinyl Gloss' is in swirly font.
To apply the gloss, just smooth the foam applicator over your lips. When I dipped the applicator in, a nice amount of gloss came out, probably too much, but you can just wipe the excess on the side of the tube. I don't know why some people say it only lasts five minutes - it lasted for ages with me before I had to re-apply it - a good few hours! The gloss also made my lips look ultra shiny and really glossy, all the time when it was on. This lipgloss also had a really lovely, sweet scent, not too sickly or overpowering like some lipglosses have.
Rimmel Vinyl Lipgloss is £4.49 from Boots, which is very good value.
A bit of a Rimmel theme is starting to appear in my reviews today and believe me there are a few more of them to come so I thought Id write about this one which Ive been meaning to do for a while. Lately on the markets in Brum they have been selling loads of Rimmel items dead cheap (like a quid or under) so Ive been stocking up on a few to try out and the ones I dont like Ive been giving to my mom LOL. I have never been a massive fan of the Rimmel range in all honesty - dont get me wrong they do have some fantastic products but they are very few and far between so you dont often get one. Sadly this was another case of one of Rimmels less than perfect products that has subsequently been binned as my mom didnt like it either.
Stockists: Boots, Superdrug ETC
Shades: Crystal Clear (my shade of choice), Demure, Read My Lips, Mischief, Snog, Cosmic & No Chance!
That again is quite a good range of shades and I think everyone will find a colour to suit them. This range is more your classic natural shades rather than anything really outrageous but for everyday wear the colours are great.
This lipgloss is made even easier to apply by the fact that the brush on the wand is shaped to fit your lips and that means you can get great coverage with just one wipe (for want of a better word) across each of your lips. This goes on really easily and doesnt feel the slightest bit sticky or too thick when you first apply it. Instantly this gives you a really polished looking pout but your lips still look really natural - great if you dont want to look like youve made a big effort. As I said I did get the clear gloss so I have no idea about what the colour looks like or how bright it is but with the clear shade at first my lips looked fantastic.
That look wasnt to last though because as I continued getting ready the gloss started to feel badly sticky. I felt like the gloss was getting thicker on my mouth by the minute but when I looked in the mirror you couldnt even tell I had gloss on. God knows why it disappears from your lips but the horrible tacky feeling is still left behind. I did go outside with this still on with the intention of reapplying when I got to my friends but with the wind blowing my hair ended up stuck to my lips so I decided not to bother. I have tried this since and had the same problem (and my mom did) so I cannot recommend that people buy this. I want a polished pout that lasts for hours not 5 minutes! Total waste of time and money and its one of Rimmels worse products!
Your lips will look amazing but only for about 10 minutes maximum so its really not worth the money buy something that is more expensive and more likely to work!
