I bought this a couple of months ago in Boots. It was meant to be my every day mascara, notice I'm saying 'was' lol The Packaging.... A rather large mascara no idea of the size as that has rubbed off! Its kind of shaped like a shiny black bullet with metallic red writing on it explaining that is Rimmel volume flash and looks rather funky actually. The brush is quite big (too big and clumsy I think). I don't like the fact that in my make up bag within a week or so the writing rubbed itself off. My Experience.... I paid £4.99 for this product. I don't think that's dirt cheap but do realise that its an 'economy' ... Read the complete review

Rimmel has a reputation as being a city-cool, affordable high street brand. "Get the London Look" Kate Moss squeaks on the advertisement...a rather mediocre model. And this is a rather mediocre mascara to match. On your lashes... ...the application can start well. The standard bristle brush begins layering eye lashes fine, but be warned. More than two layers, and eyelashes start to stick together. And I don't mean in that thick, spidery, lusted after look, which can appear quite impressive. No, I mean your eye lashes just seem to glue to each other in a rather runny inseperable kind of way. Not very desireable...It's not bad for lengthening ... Read the complete review

I brought this Rimmel mascara after I heard a celeb going on about it on a radio interview, I can't remember her name now but she said she swore by it for night time so I decided there and then I had to try it. I got the Extreme Black shade because I usually go for dramatic eye make up and thought if it had the effect it was supposed to then it woul become my fave mascara and I'd save a fortune because it's only a fiver! The brush is a lot bigger and I thought it made the mascara hard to apply without getting it on my eyelids. It took me for ages to get the knack of holding the mascara brush at a mad angle to avoid it smudging. The effects of the ... Read the complete review

I have used this mascara in both the brown the black and the extreme black and i can honestly say that of all the mascaras i have used over the years, this is the best one. for me it is all about volume rather than length, and i love how a few coats of this mascara leaves me with "fat" lashes and gives me the most dramatic eyes. i have used this one for about 8 years and since getting it i have also tried the bourjois double ended black and white one as well as the collossol maybeline and i really do not know how others can rate those two higher than this one. but i suppose it is what someone wants from a mascara. if its volume you want (regardless ... As I pursue my quest to find the ultimate mascara I purchased Rimmel London Waterproof Volume Flash Instant Thickening Mascara. Excellent! My old mascara had run out and this looked like the ideal replacement. I have a very specific criterion when it comes to my mascara and I am very fussy. Unfortunately with this specific brand and type - the Volume Flash range, the only waterproof version is black, fine for me but all the others in the range such as the Volume Flash Curved Brush Mascara, Volume Flash Extreme Black Mascara, the Volume Flash Mouse Mascara and the new hugely promoted Volume Flash The Max Mascara are all non-waterproof. There is an extensive range but ... Read the complete review
