Mascara is something no woman or man?? can live without. Some possibly/maybe just covering all bases here ok. I needed a new mascara and wasn't looking for anything fancy, just a bog standard one that could be used anytime, while trolling Amazon I stumbled upon this beauty. I basically bought this for the price of £2 and since arrived on my door step I have been in love. I love the striking blue tube, it is bullet shaped and the handle unscrews to reveal a wide and thick brush. The mascara isn't thick and gloopy and just because it says it adds volume; it doesn't do this by adding tons of product onto your lashes. The brush separates the lashes and each stroke covers many lashes in one go so you don't have to keep going over and over the same section trying to cover it. I only ever use black mascara and can confirm that the colour is great with this product. Waterproof wise I rate it quite highly as it doesn't come off easily, I have used this while swimming and even though I spent the whole time saying 'Has my mascara run?' to my friend, I was pleased to say it stayed put. It is easily removed with make up remover though. Volume wise hmmmm it doesn't plump them up a whole lot but some mascara will always make your lashes look thicker than having none on at all, so unsure what to put here. Overall it's a good mascara and at a good price.
I have always used Rimmel mascara as it has always delivered really good results for a great price. The mascara is called: " Rimmel volume flash waterproof mascara". As far as I know it has actually been discontinued as I have looked on the Rimmel site and it is no longer on there. However, it is still available online on some websites such as Amazon. I don't normally wear waterproof mascara, however, I do wear it on holiday sometimes and even swimming. Due to its price, I didn't expect a huge amount for the mascara despite loving all the other Rimmel mascaras I had used, the reason for it is because a lot of waterproof mascaras aren't very effective and end up smudging all over your face. Also they are known for not having as much volume as the normal mascaras. So overall, they don't usually have the best reputation. My thoughts I was really surprised with the results because I really didn't expect to have no mascara on my face after swimming with it on. I often asked my partner if it had smudged and he reassured me it hadn't. When I left the pool I looked in the mirror and to my surprise it was still on my eye lashes with not a smudge in sight. Volume Well I will admit the volume isn't as good as non-waterproof mascara. However, it does give some volume to your eyelashes and enough if you are using it for water based activities. Packaging The mascara is packaged in a blue tube and has 8ml of mascara. The mascara has a screw lid, I'm not that keen on the brush, I'm used to curved mascara brushes and this one is just a straight one with small bristles. Price The price was £6 at the time I purchased it. And judging from the websites that still sell it, it's around £5 - £6. Which is very reasonable for mascara and it is something I would buy again because of the price. I would give the mascara 3/5 because although it isn't essential for me to have really volumized eyelashes when in water, Rimmel does claim that it gives really volumized results, which I wouldn't agree on. Overall, I do think the mascara is good for the money. But it definitely isn't 100 per cent there because of the volume and the brush.
I bought this rimmel volume flash mascara on Julipa on offer for £5.99 at the time that being more than 12 month ago. It came with a free rimmel eyeliner which was rubbish. The Rimmel waterproof volume flash mascara Is the only one I am using it and the same one I bought more than a year ago so this will be my first observation that it last a long time even when used every day. I also brush my eyebrows with it and it is lovely my eyebrows look like I've just been to the salon. It definitely is waterproof I personally tested it myself so thumbs up for this rimmel mascara please do try it it does what it says and it is not expensive. I never wore fake lashes so I am always looking for a mascara who will make miracles. This one doesn't make miracles but is the best I have tried by now.
I LOVE this mascara! I have read mixed reviews about it, but like anything, it depends what you want from a product and how you use it. I really like 'big' lashes but find this look very hard to achieve. I have tried A LOT of other mascaras but have finally settled on this one and it is now a firm favourite and essential to my makeup bag! The tube looks like lots of the other Rimmel mascaras - there is also another mascara in this brand that has the same colour packaging but isn't waterproof. The brush is easy to use and I find the consistency perfect and easy to apply. I always curl my eyelashes and when I apply this mascara, it always keeps my eyelashes 'up.' This is exactly the look I go for so is perfect for me! I also find that they don't move during the day. Some volume and curling mascarsa seem to make my eyelashes droop after a while. I haven't tried the mascara without curling my eyelashes so I don't know what it would be like on its own. I seem to have very fine, and very few, eyelashes and this gives the volume effect I go for. It seems to thicken up my lashes. However, I do have to be quite careful with this as it can make my eyleashed clumpy if I put too much on. I usually use makeup wipes to remove my eye make up but this mascara is a little tough to remove. I guess this is the price I pay for big lashes! Rimmel is a cheap and cheerful brand and this mascara is no exception. I have tried far more expensive mascaras that don't give quite the effect I go fo, so this is a winner for me.
Mascara is my must have make up item. I'm not a huge fan of lipstick and I don't wear bright eye popping eyeshadows a lot so I make up for it with long lashes and eyeliner. I use quite a lot of rimmel products so when looking for a new mascara I was pretty confident that Rimmel would have one for me and this is when I came across Volume Flash Waterproof mascara. On offer at the time, all Rimmel products were 3 for 2 at the time in Boots and in supermarkets. With the promise of long luscious lashes instantly, I couldn't wait to try it out. Underwhelmed, disappointed, gutted about sums it up. I might have long luscious lashes but it would take about 30 coats to build up the mascara to that point! Don't get me wrong, this is a good mascara for general everyday use i.e at work because it provides great even coverage, really is waterproof (even sport and running proof) and it doesn't clump like a lot of similar products do. The mascara comes in a shiny blue tube which has a rounded, pointed lid and as per the picture above has silver text describing the product. The wand is relatively small which is why I think it doesn't deliver the promised results but this is also why it doesn't clump and it's easy to get any excess of the brush. Prices at around £5 it is now one of the cheaper mascaras that Rimmel produce but for a great all rounder I'm quite happy to pay that price. It lasts for ages, I usually buy a new one long before this runs out and it really does take a lot to make it run - I've played netball, ran a 10k race, cried, been clubbing and if I haven't taken it off at night, it's still there in the morning. I recommend this to anyone looking for a basic everyday mascara but not for those who want luscious long lashes.
Ok this is a mixed review, I thought for the price it offered good value for money. However, I have very fine eyelashes and I found it didn't really do them much justice. After about 2 or 3 coats that took a lot of time I found it still didn't really make much difference to my eyelashes like most other mascaras do. The waterproof part is true, it didn't smudge or anything. I guess for the price it's good value for money but it only offers light coverage. If you're looking for a dramatic effect then maybe go for something else. This might be a good mascara for a daytime or office look but definitely not one for going out or clubbing. I found the brush clumped a lot as well and was difficult to use and apply properly. Every time I dipped the brush in, it would bring out huge clumps and it was difficult to de clump it and then apply it on the eyelashes. Quite messy!
I'm a bit of a hoarder when it comes to makeup. When out shopping, I always browse around the makeup and cosmetics, with no intention of buying anything but I rarely come out empty handed. I don't have any favourite products or brands but I have to own a waterproof mascara. The one I'm using at the moment is Rimmels Waterproof Volume Flash. ----- Packaging ----- The mascara comes in a blue tube, it isn't square in shape like most other mascaras but has a curve to it making it look sleek compared to others. The applicator is already attached to the lid of the bottle making it easy to apply. The wand (or brush or whatever you want to call it!) is around an inch long and has really short bristles. ----- Mascara ----- The consistency of this mascara is really quite thin, almost like it's been watered down, this makes it quite hard to get a desired effect. I like big, thick looking eyelashes and to achieve this I have to put several coats on as the small wand makes it very difficult to comb through my lashes. I often find after I've applied my mascara I can't blink for what seems like an eternity while it dries. It takes a good 20 minutes to completely dry and not smear mascara all over my cheeks if I sneeze or blink! It's quite easy to remove from my cheeks if I notice it quickly, but if it has had time to dry I have to scrub it to remove it. Once the mascara has dried it makes my lashes feel heavy and hard and really unpleasant. One small prod of the eyelashes and you feel like they are about to drop off. I did wonder whether it was because I had applied a couple of coats, but even with just one coat of mascara it feels the same. One good thing about the mascara is how waterproof this is (when its dry!). I haven't experienced it run at all, even with heavy rain and floods of tears. The only downside to this is removal of makeup at the end of the day is tough. It takes a lot of effort to totally clear this mascara and I've woken up the next day thinking I had managed to remove it successfully the night before but looking in the mirror with panda eyes. So much rubbing to remove this does irritate my eyes. ----- Overall ----- At around £5, this is quite a cheap mascara but the quality is cheap too. Application is a nightmare, then at the end of the day, removal is a nightmare too. The only good thing about this mascara is the waterproof element. I don't think I'll be purchasing this again!
Rimmel is a brand that I've hardly ever been disappointed with despite trying a lot of their product range. Despite being a well-known brand their prices are still affordable. I bought this mascara when I was staying at a close friend's university halls in Newcastle and realised that I'd left half of my make up bag behind right before a big night out was planned so it was Boots to the rescue for me! The reason I picked up this mascara is because I was instantly drawn to the packaging and the reasonable price tag. The packaging was very bright neon pink which instantly caught my eye with blue shiny swirling text which is very girly and dramatic. The shape of the mascara is quite unusual too as it isn't just rectangular but instead has rounded edges which makes it look unique and more expensive. Upon unscrewing the lid the brush come attached to the lid which makes for an easy application. The brush looked very thick - a lot thicker than most other brushes that I have used in the past. I was excited to try it out to see what the effect of such a big brush would be and I wasn't disappointed the large surface area of the brush meant that a lot of the mascara product could be picked up in the soft bristles which ultimately meant that in one stroke my eyes were complete and full of mascara without looking clumpy or like i had 'spider eyes'. The brush also ensured that mascara covered my lashes corner to corner with little effort. The mascara itself is very black and easily comes off when accidently spotted on my eyelids without having to rub off all of my foundation to remove other stubborn mascaras. The drying process is typical of mascaras - once it is applied it takes 60 seconds to completely dry. Once it is dry it feels very hard on my lashes and i'm always tempted to pick the mascara off as it tends to come off in clumps but this is definitely not recommended as it pulls out some of my lashes! I tend to use an eyelash curler to preen my lashes but a mascara application but with this mascara I don't really need to use the curler as the mascara curls my lashes too as well as making them look longer and darker which makes this mascara an all rounder in the beauty stakes! Overall, I really like this mascara despite buying it in a panic the mascara has worked wonders for my eyes and also works well on my false lashes which I wear on nights out. The mascara cost me £4 which is very reasonable for such a quality product.
I have been using Rimmel make up since I can remember, on of my favourite products from this great beauty brand is their Volume Flash mascara. I buy this mascara from Boots for £5.99 which is a great price for a good quality mascara. The main reason I choose this mascara out of the whole Rimmel range is because it is waterproof. This mascara comes in blue tube with the Rimmel logo on the side. Most of the Rimmel mascara tubes are the same 'pointy' shape. I use the black version of this mascara but you can get brown and other colours. I have quite long eyelashes anyway but I do like them to look longer and much thicker and this mascara gives me the desired effect. Once you have unscrewed the brush from the tube you can see that there brush is quite thick which is great as I feel this stops lumps and clumps on your eyelashes. The brush is sturdy too so you dont have to worry about it bending. This mascara gives me the desired effect that I want from my eyelashes. It is waterproof so does not smear of your face gets wet, however is can be easily removed with eye make up remover. Overall I would give this product 10/10 and will continue to used it.
I bought this product a while ago, as I purchased and really liked the non- waterproof version of this Rimmel mascara, and I thought that this was very reasonably priced. A lot of the waterproof mascaras I have used in the past have (because of the fact that they are waterproof) had to compromise on the overall texture and quality of the product. This one however I really like, because it works just as well as a non waterproof mascara, it has the same texture and dramatic black colour. It also gave my eyes really good definition and thickened the appearance of my lashes. This product did not lengthen my eyelashes as well as a non waterproof mascara perhaps would, but I began to curl my eyelashes before applying the product and it held the length well. I can't say that I am too impressed with this product for its waterproof quality though; it is good for rainy weather and such, as it doesn't smudge in these circumstances, but isn't good for swimming or the like. I went swimming with this product on, and it did come off, however in the process it did not smudge all over my face, which non waterproof mascaras would do, which is obviously a plus.
For years I was using Rimmel's Volume Flash mascara, which was in a red tube. However, I had never even realised that they did a waterproof version of this. Because I wear mascara practically all the time, I can face some problems when in the rain, or if I go swimming and there is still a little on as you can end up looking like a panda! Because of this, I decided to try their waterproof version to see if it did the trick, as well as remaining such a good mascara. At the time of purchase it was around £5.99 which is an excellent price for a good quality mascara nowadays and because I get through mine quite quickly, I do not really want to pay much more than this anyway. I got mine from Boots, however it is stocked widely throughout supermarkets and high street chemists so it won't be too hard to find. It comes in a blue tube as shown in the image, and I purchased mine in Black, because this is the only colour I will wear on my eye lashes. It was also available in Brown, but I am not sure if there was much more variation than this, so if you are after colourful lashes I would recommend another brand such as Barry M for this. My main aim when using mascara is to get thick, big and dark eye lashes which really stand out with lots of volume. One thing I can not stand however is when they get quite clumpy, as this is when volume gets unattractive. So, with these being my main aim in this, and knowing how satisfied I was with the original version of this I was expecting big results. The applicator brush is quite thick, and I really prefer these to the plastic, flimsy ones. Because of this, it meant that lots of product gets on to the brush which is perfect for building up the lashes. It is really easy to apply, however it can be difficult when reaching for the very bottom of your eye lashes by the lid, and sometimes I have to miss these areas as the brush is too thick to get into this hard to reach areas. From applying the first coat of this mascara, you can already see incredible results which is excellent for a cheaper brand such as Rimmel! After two or three coats though, your eye lashes do look much bigger and bolder. However, my problem with this was that it just does not compare to the original, non waterproof version of this mascara. I am not sure why but it just does not deliver the same results, and it is more of a toned down version of it. Therefore, as I was purchasing almost solely to get huge eye lashes, I will in future return back to the red tubed mascara! If you are however looking for a good waterproof mascara, I can vouch that this does perform well in the rain and does not run very easily, but there are much better waterproof mascaras available on the market! One more problem to note with this is that if you own it for a good few months, the product starts to clump up around the tube and on the brush, and you can end up with hard flaky lashes which is not a good look! Three stars is considerable as it is an effective mascara at keeping your eyes waterproof, as well as delivering that volume, but if you are just after volume it is well worth buying the original version of this Rimmel mascara. Thanks for reading.
I have my eye lashes tinted every four weeks, but sometimes need a lift for a party / going out. I purchased this mascara based on the good price, the colour range available and it's dramatic effect. I had noticed it in several stores and I like the Rimmel brand of cosmetics for their price and quality. This is a super thick mascara, which has a great brush to get to the roots of your lashes and to give you longer looking lashes. The quality of this mascara and brush means that it doesn't clump. The shade range is good, not just varieties of black. The price is competitive for a regular everyday mascara too. It lasted all evening, without irritating my eyes, and didn't look 'fake'. It's dramatic without making you look too over made up. Make sure you have a good quality make up remover because the waterproof element does mean it won't come off just in the shower!
I got this when I was going on a holiday. I needed waterproof mascara because I wanted to go in the sea with make up on! I didn't want to pay too much for a product i was only going to use for a week, but i still wanted it to work properly! This mascara is excellent when you want to go in the water, as it doesn't smudge or come off. It is very cheap & makes your eyes look absolutely stunning! It doesn't lengthen your lashes as other mascaras would do, but i guess that's not the point of this, so i wouldn't class that as a bad point. Whenever i go swimming my friends always tell me to take my make up off as it's going to smudge. When wearing this excellent mascara i do not need to worry! It is great because you can still look amazing even if you're swimming!
I would estimate that 90% of the mascaras I have used over the last 10 years have been Rimmel. I have tried out several others, but always coming back to Rimmel. I have received many compliments about how long and thick my lashes look (lucky girl! He he) and so I am a firm believer that its not the case that you have to buy the most expensive products. Rimmel always are a good value excellent product. I bought this waterproof one for use on holiday, when I would be on the beach all the time and didn't want to be without make up completely. It is very reliable both as a decent mascara and as a waterproof option. You can go underwater completely and it will not budge (obviously you can't really rub your eyes too much though). It is not as good as non waterproof options (the Rimmel Superlash is my favourite) and, like all waterproof mascaras, it takes careful removal using specific remover for waterproof make up. I am not a fan on waterproof mascaras on the whole, they are hard to remove and in doing so I think they are hard on the very delicate skin around the eyes, also they do not make your lashes as full and long as non waterproof options. Equally, for normal wear (not under water wear) I never find my mascara runs so I don't see the point in waterproof (except if you are planning to have a good blub!). But if you are looking for a waterproof option, this one is reliable, inexpensive and does a pretty decent job.
I bought this mascara because it was on offer last time I needed a new one and I had had good experiences with Rimmel products in the past. It promises up to 10x more volume, and claims to be waterproof. Firstly the size and shape of the mascara is convenient-fits down the side of a small bag for a night out. The applicator brush is a little longer than most mascaras which I prefered as it helped me to put an even coat of mascara on my lashes. I'm not keen on specialised brushes to help you create longer lashes as I often find they don't work particularly well and this fairly regular brush works absolutely fine. The opening at the top of the tube is thin enough for any excess mascara on the brush to be removed as the brush is pulled out so you do not end up with too many lumps of mascara. I do find though that when I am trying to apply mascara to the lashes in the inner corner of my eye I often get lumps of mascara from the end of the brush. The results are good, my lashes certainly look a lot thicker and longer although the 10x more volume promise is not a reality. As for the waterproof claims, this mascara has lasted with out running at all through tears, swimming and thunder storms and I would say it is one of the best waterproof mascaras I have tried. It takes about 30 seconds to dry but once dry lasts all day. Being such a good lasting product removing it is a challenge although I have found that holding a make-up removing wipe over the mascara for a few minutes makes it much easier to gently rub off. It does take some time to remove completely though.
