Advantages: smudge free, price
Disadvantages: not much volume
I have always used Rimmel mascara as it has always delivered really good results for a great price.
The mascara is called: " Rimmel volume flash waterproof mascara". As far as I know it has actually been discontinued as I have looked on the Rimmel site and it is no longer on there. However, it is still available online on some websites such as Amazon.
I don't normally wear waterproof mascara, however, I do wear it on holiday sometimes and even swimming. Due to its price, I didn't expect a huge amount for the mascara despite loving all the other Rimmel mascaras I had used, the reason for it is because a lot of waterproof mascaras aren't very effective and end up smudging all over your face. Also they are known for not having as much volume as the normal mascaras. So overall, they don't usually have the best reputation.
My thoughts
I was really surprised with the results because I really didn't expect to have no mascara on my face after swimming with it on. I often asked my partner if it had smudged and he reassured me it hadn't. When I left the pool I looked in the mirror and to my surprise it was still on my eye lashes with not a smudge in sight.
Volume
Well I will admit the volume isn't as good as non-waterproof mascara. However, it does give some volume to your eyelashes and enough if you are using it for water based activities.
Packaging
The mascara is packaged in a blue tube and has 8ml of mascara.
The mascara has a screw lid, I'm not that keen on the brush, I'm used to curved mascara brushes and this one is just a straight one with small bristles.
Price
The price was £6 at the time I purchased it. And judging from the websites that still sell it, it's around £5 - £6. Which is very reasonable for mascara and it is something I would buy again because of the price.
I would give the mascara 3/5 because although it isn't essential for me to have really volumized eyelashes when in water, Rimmel does claim that it gives really volumized results, which I wouldn't agree on.
Overall, I do think the mascara is good for the money. But it definitely isn't 100 per cent there because of the volume and the brush.
Summary: ok
