I was shopping in a seaside town the other day, when I came across 'The Original Factory Shop'. I hadn't been to one before so decided to take a look around, and see what they had to offer. I hadn't bought anything yet all day, which is rather unusual for me I must say.
I felt this small craving to buy something.
When I was in there I took a look at the clothes and homeware sections but nothing really caught my eye. Then I saw a beauty section selling loads of make up and it looked like there were loads of good bargains.
I found this and it was only £4 which seemed like a bargain for a mascara. It looked very proffessional aswell with white and red packaging, plus I had never tried a mousse foundation before so I picked it up and went to the till to buy it.
I used this the next day before going out to town. I found the brush very difficult to use and it made my eyelashes stick together, and it made them very clumpy because the bristles are very thick. I don't think the bristles are spaced out enough which made it very difficult to put this on.
I feel like I have wasted money with this. It made me look like I didn't know how to use mascara and had put way too much on.
It is going in the bin. Not recommended.
I bought this product in Boots quite a while back now as my mascara had run out and I needed a new one and this one caught my eye. The packaging was quite bold with a thick silver bullet like shape and red metallic writing. It was on an introductory offer as it was a new product and I think I managed to get the black/brown shade for around £4-5 rather than the normal £7-8 which at the time I was very happy about! (As I was and still am a poor student...)
I was excited by the prospect of an 'air whipped' mascara as I had never heard of this type of mascara and thought it might be a revolutionary new turn for the product! Little did I know at the time that it was more of a step back than a step forward...
I got home and used it straight away, when I unscrewed the top I was surprised to find an old style mascara wand with bristles rather than the new, more practical silicon brush that most mascaras now use. I tried to put it on my eyelashes but it smudged EVERYWHERE as it was so thick and almost cream like that it did not stay on my eyelashes and instead progressed to make me look like a complete panda! Also, although this product did not claim to be waterproof, I wasn't expected it to come off and smudge everywhere with the slight drip of water/rain which made it even more of a mess. The applicator made it difficult to apply which just added to the problems.
All in all I would definitely not recommend this mascara, although I do love Rimmel as a brand and they do have some other fantastic mascaras. It just goes to show that if something is on a big sale you have to ask yourself why that is... maybe the product is not as great as you would think!...
One of Rimmels new offerings on the market at the moment is their revolutionary "volume moose mascara". In my opinion it is a definate must have for any girls handbag.
Rimmel boasts of its ability to instantly volumize lashes...and it doesn't disappoint. Within a couple of sweeps of the brush applicator the mousse instantly thinkens and lengthens lashes. Those who find liquid mascara very thin to apply and often have to apply more than a few layers to achieve their desired effect should look upon this new cosmetic as a successful alternative.
This mascara is very light to wear due to its air whipped mousse content; it almost feels like your not wearing any mascara at all. Unfortunately though, I found that if not applied carefully clumping can develop as this product is fairly think in substance. No one wants the dreaded spider eyes to spoil their look!
At present it can be purchased both in various outlets across the highstreet and is widely available online. It's retailing currently at about five pound.
In conclusion this mascara is extremelly good value for money as many bigger brands boast the same type of product but with a heftier price tag...just watch how you put it on!!!!!
