Advantages: Coverage, price, lasting power

Disadvantages: None

I decided to buy this concealer after trying and loving the 'wake me up' foundation.

I bought mine from Boots and paid £5.49 which I think is great value for money considering the quality and a little goes a long way too. Rimmel claim that this 'visibly reawakens and illuminates under the eyes' and 'completely conceals spots and other blemishes'. They also state that it has a provides an instant anti-fatigue effect. The formula, they say, is moisturising and contains peptisides and vitamins.

To be honest I was a little skeptical about all of these claims considering that this is a reasonably cheap, drugstore concealer but just like the foundation it is actually amazing! The concealer comes in a plastic tube which has the same colour scheme as the foundation bottle - an orange lid and silver writing. The lid twists off and has the wand attatched. The sponge applicator on the end is a good size and is firmly attatched to the wand.

The tube holds 7ml of product and it doesn't take up much room in my make-up bag. The concealer is available in four shades and I opted for classic beige as I currently have a fake tan, but I will be purchasing ivory once I am back to my natural skin tone. I found with the foundation it was darker on my skin than it looked in the bottle but I haven't had this problem with the concealer. The concealer is obviously in liquid form rather than stick form and it is just the right concealer - not too runny but not at all thick or gloopy.

It is easy to apply this evenly and accurately as the sponge tip is smooth and precise. It is necessay to wipe any excess off before use though as the brush does soak some of the concealer up which can ooze out if it is pressed against my skin. I use this mainly on any spots that I have as I use Benefit's lemon-aid under my eyes and I find that this is effective at completely covering up any redness and discolouration that the spots cause and it makes them much less noticeable.

On the few ocassions that I have used it under my eyes I was impressed with the coverage - it completely covered my dark patches and made the skin under my eyes look brighter and healthier. The smooth texture makes the concealer easy to blend for a natural looking finish and it does not leave my skin looking powdery or greasy. I wouldn't agree with Rimmel's claim that it is moisturising, but it is not at all drying. It lasts for a good four hours or so before I need to re-apply it which I think is a reasonable length of time.

Overall, recommended.
