Advantages: Wicked colours; Easy to apply; Comes off easy;
Disadvantages: The brush is a bit too long
I love all the different colour nail varnishes you can get now so even though I don't wear varnish every day I have got a massive collection. Rimmel Wear Maxx is probably the most long lasting out of all of them and I'm always impressed with how smart it looks on my nails for days even though it doesn't last the 10 days that Rimmel say it will.
I've got 3 colours from the range, 2 of them are normal pinks but a few weeks ago I brought one called Electric and that's a lovely deep blue that looks wicked on my finger and toe nails.
The nail varnish is the perfect consistency and applied smooth and tidily to my nails. I think the brush is a bit too long compared to other nail varnishes but the bristles are held together good so it doesn't matter that much, but when my mate who NEVER wears nail varnish borrowed it for a big night out she had trouble getting the brush to stay on her nail and not paint her fingers because she's proper heavy handed and isn't very experienced at applying it anyway.
I don't have that problem myself and think the brush is comfortable to hold and I don't very often make mistakes with this nail varnish.
The 3 colours I've got are wicked. The Electric one is the sort of blue that looks good in the daytime and also for a night out because it's not too dark and has got a gorgeous shimmer to it. The other 2 I've got are Russet Flame and that's a dark reddy pink that also looks good day or night, and Baby Pink which is as you'd expect a baby pink colour that is wicked for in the day but not so good for going out because of it being such a pale colour.
You normally get about 3 days of this nail varnish looking brand new but once it starts to chip it comes off dead quick and your nails go from looking wicked to looking like one of them girls who always seem to have just a bit of nail varnish near the bottom of their nail! I hate scabby looking nails so as soon as I get a chip I take it all off quick before it does my head in.
It comes off easy with my normal nail varnish remover but I noticed the Electric on stained my nails a bit so I recommend using a base coat when you're using one of the darker colours, neither of the pinks discoloured my nails though so it's obviously just the stronger colours that do that.
Summary: A Wicked Nail Varnish That Stays Looking Good For Days

- 09/10/09 I've got electric too - it is brilliant with the sparkly bits consistently glimmering away in it! Look out for Sunset Bronze too if you like that one as it has the same effect and looks gorge! |
