Rimmel Glam Eyes Quad Eyeshadow
by sparkle1004
I like to wear make up, especially eye shadows and I have plenty of them, even though most of the shades that I own are browns and golds but there's always room for more. I recently chose the Glam Eyes Quad Eyeshadow by Rimmel.
What does the product do?
The product has been designed to give the eyes a beautiful splash of ... colour. It promises to be long lasting on the eyes and to be crease resistant so it stays looking perfect for longer. It claims that it will give the eyelids a smooth, intense and saturated colour which blends effortlessly and easily. The collection has apparently been inspired by the London fashion scene.
Shades
Each compact contains four different shades which compliment each other. Each compact comes with lovely names such as Sun Safari, Sweet Smoulder, Dark Signature and State of Grace. The colours range from smokey dark shades to bright and vibrant blues and purples. I chose Smokey Brun.
Packaging and Price
The product comes contained within a plastic compact with a clear flip top lid and you can see the eye shadows inside. The powders are shaped into four triangles which have curved edges and the triangles meet in the middle to form a square shape. There criss cross patterns in the powder and a crown shape imprinted in the bottom one. A double ended sponge applicator in included one thin and one fat in order to apply the product. The back of the product shows you how to use the product. The product will cost you around £6 and it can be bought from stores like Superdrug and Boots, large supermarkets and also from a range of online websites.
Application and Performance
The product is well protected by the packaging and it doesn't get damaged even when it's knocked about in my make up bag. The diagrams on the back help you to use the product effectively but you can use it however you want. The product has a silky consistency that isn't creamy but isn't powdery even. The brushes provided are of a good quality and make applying the product easy. The colours included in my back are a creamy ivory, a rich dark brown, a chocolate brown and a pale coffee brown.
The colours have a slight shimmer to them which make them look really pretty but it isn't glittery or childish at all so you won't end up looking like a glitter ball. The colours are numbered on the back. You are supposed to use shade 2 all over, with shade one in the middle, shade 3 as a highlighter on the brown and then shade 4 at the outer corner and underneath as an eyeliner. The thin end of the brush can be used when applying shade 4 and a diagram is included to help you with the application.
The shadows glide over the lid without any pulling or dragging and you don't get any excess kick up from the powder so you don't get little bits falling onto the skin beneath your eye which is a pet hate of mine. The colours are easily blendable and have a lovely velvety finish. The colour doesn't crease as promised and the colours are highly pigmented, being highly visible and evident.
The eye shadow is suitable for both day and night wear with the shade that I bought but some of the other shades may be too bright for day wear. The product is gentle on my skin and hasn't caused my skin any irritations or caused any problems with my contact lenses. The product is long lasting and the shadow doesn't fade by the end of the day. The shadows are easily removed using my usual eye make up remover.
Conclusion
All in all, this is a lovely eye shadow set which helps you to create a beautiful look both easily and quickly. The product has a lovely velvety finish which has a slight shimmer. The shades are highly pigmented and make the eyes look very pretty. They are long lasting and crease free. I am really happy with this product and I will definitely be buying it in another set of shades. Read the complete review |
