Advantages: Moisturises lips, smells nice

Disadvantages: None

When I saw this on Amazon, it appealed to me straight away as I love the smell of strawberries. I also loved the look of the vintage, shabby chic style tin that it comes in and I decided to buy a tin of it to try. I paid £5.00 for the lipbalm, which I think is a reasonable price considering the quality of the lip balm and the tin can be re-used, making it quite good value for money. This is available from John Lewis, Amazon and a range of eBay sellers, so prices do vary slightly.

The lip balm comes in a round tin which is white with red dots all over it. The tin is pocket sized - it's around the same size as a tin of Vaseline. The lid has the brand and product name written on it in handwriting style font and there's a pixelated picture which looks a bit like a photo-like drawing of a retro style woman wearing a red and white playsuit sat by a strawberry plant, pouring herself a drink from the waterring can. The bottom of the tin has the ingredients listed as well as the Rose and Co website address.

There's also a brief product description which says 'deliciously scented lip balm with almond oil, for sweet and sexy strawberry kisses'. Getting the lid off is a little awkward at times and I usually have to use my nails, which isn't a huge issue - it's just a bit annoying! The tin is filled to the brim with product and the lip balm is a really nice shade of pale pink which looks quite delicate and girly. The smell is not very noticeable and I am only able to smell the strawberry scent if I hold the tin under my nose.

The smell is devine, it smells like fresh, sweet strawberries and the smell is really natural with no unpleasant artificial undertones. I find that the scent does not linger for long on my lips, though. As this is a tinned lip balm I apply it with my finger - the product easily transfers onto the tip of my finger as it's not too hard or waxy. It spreads over my lips nice and smoothly and despite being quite thick, it feels very lightweight once on my lips; not at all heavy.

The lip balm has quite a greasy feel to it, which lessens as the balm sinks into the skin and it leaves my lips with a very subtle tint. I was worried that the balm would look white on my lips as it's so light but it is a really nice shade and it looks pretty natural. The balm gives my lips a slight healthy sheen and they feel very moisturised and nourished. It usually takes a few hours before my lips start to feel dry again, so it's clearly an effective lip balm.

Overal, recommended.
