“ Brand: Ruby & Millie / Type: Blushers „
When it comes to make-up, me I'll use pretty much anything really. I own stacks of the stuff but try to stick to brands I know of but I'm none to fond of paying pounds on something and tend to buy stuff that is on offer or on sale. However if I want a particular 'piece' of make up then I look at Urban Decay or Ruby & Millie make-up ranges in the main. Urban Decay mainly for more 'out there' stuff really in the latest shades and Ruby & Millie if I want a really classy but modern, polished look.
The other day whilst in Boots I was deliberately looking for a new blusher. I am an avid fan of the stuff and couldn't be without some as I'm really very, very pale. However because of this fact I'm fussy on the makes and colours I will use and I trust the brand that is Ruby & Millie so it made sense to look at what they had on offer.
Ruby & Millie do, do single blushers as well as duos of course. They can also can be found in various compact sizes and in their large make-up sets that they do, so if interested they are available in a few formats!
I chose to buy a double compact blusher for the choice of a couple of shades and at £11.00 for two colours I was really happy with my choice.
You get two shades of similar colours in one plastic, round, see-through compact. The underneath twists out from the lid but stays attached and around the side your told it is Ruby & Millie. On the bottom of the compact contact details for Ruby & Millie are given and the shade is stated. It's a nice, dinky, good quality little pot that is robust enough though there is no mirror or brushes supplied with it as there is no room to store anything!
These compacts come in 5 colour choices and I chose red which sounds rather frightening but what I got was 2 light pinks. Half and half. I guess the idea is to use the lighter one for daytime and the darker for night but I use whichever I fancy, I can mix them and of course can use them both for shading.
Using these took a bit of getting used to. Not the powder itself but the two colours are side by side so if you want to use one colour you can't just swish in a brush and away you go! So I use a medium sized blusher brush for one shade or a large brush if I want to use the two colours together.
The powder is excellent. It's very fine indeed and very soft to the touch and although it's fine it clings on to any one of my blusher brushes with ease. You don't have to scrub the colour to get the powder off either and it scatters on the brush but nowhere else!
I simply sweep it where I want to it and it transfers on to my face simply. I find with this particular brand that they don't do shimmery blushers (if you want that try their amazing face gloss) and it doesn't create harsh lines. For a deeper colour, you simply keep going till your happy and once it's on the face it stays put for over 14 hours (that's the longest I've left it on for!) and it removes ever so easily with your usual make up removing routine.
Fabulous. I love the way you get to build up the colour and your in total control. I like the ease of applying it and the looks I can create. I like the size of this too, cos although it's not a huge compact there is plenty of product in it.
This is so suitable for a novice. If your unsure of make-up, Ruby & Millie really do make it very easy to experiment. I love the looks it gives, how it feels light on my skin and me, well I have very sensitive skin and this doesn't agitate it one bit. I'm a huge fan of this marvelous range and this offering proves why I am. Classy make-up for all ages to create a look your comfortable with. What isn't there to like?!
The Colour choices are as follows:
I always buy my Ruby & Millie products from Boots but do check about online for it as there are such bargains to be had on discount sites!
