Sally Hansen Lip Inflation was the first lip plumper I ever came across. Before I found it I had no idea there was such a thing, so when I stumbled upon it in Boots I was intrigued. I'd always hated having thin lips and wanted a plumper pout, so I decided to give it a go.

It comes in a 6ml clear tube on a cardboard backing and has a gold lid with a brush attached. It costs £5.82. According to the Sally Hansen website it comes in four colours; clear, sheer pink, sheer mocha and sheer blush, but I have only used the clear one. It can be used on its own or under lip colour. I have yet to try it under lip colour.

Apparently, it increases volume by boosting circulation in the lips, stimulating them with extracts of cinnamon and ginger. It is also infused with peppermint, which gives it a cool sensation. I liked the fact that it was using natural ingredients, but I thought it smelt like Calpol, which I thought was a bit odd.

When I applied it my lips started tingling almost straight away, which is what they are supposed to do. It gave my lips a glossy, shiny, smooth look. It's a good gloss even without the plumping element. After a minute or so, my lips started to look bigger. Not much bigger, but the change was noticeable. The tingling feeling lasted for a long time. It's not unpleasant or uncomfortable, but a bit strange the first time you try it. The plumpness even lasts for a while after you remove the gloss, although it obviously doesn't last forever. I would definitely by it again and would recommend it.
