best nail product i've ever used (Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat)

I bought the seche vite top coat after reading two raving reviews from other Doutou community members. To be honest, I was still a little sceptical about the product, as I've bought numerous expensive nail products and have been dissapointed with the results. I bought it through the site, through amazon, and it was only £6.50 plus £1.95 p&p, which I think is pretty reasonable for a nail polish product anyway, especially considering the nail polish i am trying to keep on is a chanel 'le vernis nail colour' that I just forked out £16 for... It arrived within a couple of days, and as is reccomended, I used a base coat and two layers of colour, then the top coat. I am absolutely thrilled with it, and have already recommended it to several friends - who are trialling it themselves as I write! The finish is truly the best finish I have ever achieved at home, looking more like a professional acrillic set of nails than something I did on my break at work! I do quite a lot of 'nail damaging' work and the flexible finish has meant that they stay looking lovely for good 2-3 days. I haven't yet found that it'll keep my nail polish on for a week as i was told, but even with a few chips the rest of the polish still looks super shiny and lovely, so I can cope with that. I am yet to try a few coats of the top coat to see if that helps durability.

Another benefit as that it's so tough that your nails are very hard, although it's still flexible, meaning it's harder to break them. I keep my nails quite long and I've bashed my fingers a few times while wearing the top coat, fully expecting my nails to have snapped right off, and been pleasantly surprised at the protection it provides against breakage.

Apparently its important that you wear a base coat, as this is what the seche vite bonds to, I wasn't entirely sure I believed this, or whether it was just a ploy to get you to buy the base coat, however, when the polish strted to chip off, instead of taking it all off to start again, i just put another layer of colour over where it had chipped off. almost straight away, the same patches chipped off, even though i'd put the top coat over the top, leading me to believe, that it genuinely does bond to the base coat. With this in mind, I was thinking i wouldn't recommend it to someone who can't be bothered to do the whole manicure régime of base coat, two coats of colour, then top coat, however, I was going out on friday, and had taken off my wrecked nail polish, ready to re-do them for thwe evening, then, got a phone call, saying I had to leave in ten minutes. PANIC! half way through doing my nails, with only the base coat on, the decision was to go out with scruffy nails (never!!) or rwally put this new product to the test... so I quickly put two coats of nail polish on, one straight after the other - which any girl knows is a recipe for disaster. and especially with this particular nail polish which will never dry if you put it on too thick, or don't let the first coat to dry before aplying the second. Then almost immediately after, I applied the top coat, grabbed my bag and ran out of the door (very concerned that I wasn't going to be able to touch anything all night...) I tentatively touched the polish a few minutes later, and joy of joys, the seche vite top coat had worked a miracle, and set the polish totally touch dry. I have never been so instantly in love with a product! I will definitely be buying this one again, it's my new best friend!
