Make up that's good for your skin!

I've been using Sheer Cover make up for about 5 years now. One of my favourite products is the lip-to-lid highlighter - I have one in every shade and I not only love the quality and versatility I love the way it actually makes you feel amazing!

As well as buying direct from the Sheer Cover website, you can also buy it over the phone from Sheer Cover if you'd rather not purchase online, or if you have any questions about it. It comes in a screw top clear plastic tub, with the bold Sheer Cover lettering on the lid. The tub is like a shaker, so you only shake out what you need (a little like a talc container). A key tip here is to keep it up right, if you stick it in a make up bag all of the product will eventually make it's way in to the lid through the shaker and then it becomes a messy nightmare! It costs £17.95 for a 1g tub. This represents excellent value for money - it may seem like a large outlay, but believe me, the product lasts forever - I've had the same pots for the last 4 years (strictly speaking it has a 36 month shelf life) and I still have lots left.

The product is made from natural minerals (it's mineral make up after all!) and contains no drying talcs, oils or perfumes which could cause sensitivity or harmful dyes - which means it's actually make up which is GOOD for your skin (all types of skin too, even the most sensitive). Sheer Cover is actually derived from a brand of make up which was created to cover acne and scarring, so it provides unrivalled coverage and is incredibly reputable - in fact, you get a 60 day money back guarantee so if you're not impressed - which you will be - you can send it back even used and get a full refund (less p+p). You will see how natural it is, when you manage to wash it off with normal cleanser and not make up remover.

Lip-to-lid is almost a misleading name as you can do so much with the product. It's essentially a highlighter with light reflecting particles (not just 'glittery'!) that give you an amazing glow, enhancing your natural complexion - not masking it with an orange the-only-way-is-Essex tan. Whilst cheeks are a given, you can use it as an eye shadow too - but you can get creative here. Mix with a little vaseline to make a slick bold colour, apply over existing shadows to get an ethereal glow and bespoke shade no one else will have, apply a light dusting to the lid and mix with vaseline to create a 'shadow liner' and line the eye, apply a little to the brow bone to create a hollywood glamour look. You can also apply it to your lips - a little spot on the centre of your lower lip will give you a fuller looking pout, mixing a little with lip gloss gives a sexy sheen or you can dust it over your lippy to create an unusual and individual colour. Then there's your neck, collar bone, cleavage; a dusting adds a subtle glow for an evening out. You can also try a red carpet technique, mix a little with baby oil and apply to the shins, this elongates and slims legs when wearing a dress! So you can see the product is totally versatile and makes for some really interesting experimental looks.

The staying power of the product definitely has the wow factor - it won't transfer and doesn't 'slip' or 'melt' off as the day progresses if applied properly. To use it, it couldn't be any simpler. You tap a little product through the holes in to the lid, dip your brush tip in to the powder and tap off any excess (in to lid, to use again). The less you start off with the better, you want to aim to build colour up rather than just put plenty on and blend.

The colour range is great too. I remember going to the Benefit counter years ago and asking for a 'bronzer' but I explained that because I'm so pale, convential brown shades make me look orange and patchy. They plastered me with 'Dallas' (if you know what this shade looks like you will laugh) and I spent the rest of the day looking like I'd fallen asleep on a sunbed! Sheer Cover have created this product in Pink, giving a rosey healthy glow to pastey complexions like mine, Peach which gives pale complexions a non-orange sunkissed glow and classic Bronze, which is ideal if you have olive or tanned skin.

This is an exciting make up product. It is of the highest quality and in my opinion although the price tag may seem steep, it's excellent value as you use so little of the product and it lasts ages. It's versatile and can give you some amazing looks! Really highly recommended - my must have product of the moment!
