Advantages: Effective, gentle, no nasty ingredients
Disadvantages: None
I wear eyeliner and mascara on a daily basis so an effective and gentle make-up remover is a must have.
I usually use make-up remover and a cotton pad to remove my make-up but seeing as I spotted these on offer at £2.00 in Wilkinson's I decided that I might as well try them as they seemed like a good idea. They usually retail at around £3.99 for a pack of thirty wipes which seemed quite expensive to me and I thought that the rrp seemed like a rip off at first, but having now tried them I would happily pay the full price as they're so quick and easy to use and they're great at getting rid of even the tiniest traces of make-up.
The pads come packaged in a cute little square shaped packet which has the usual Simple colour scheme - green and white. The brand and product name are written on the front and the packet has all of the inormation on it needed including the ingredients and what the product does. Opening the packet couldn't be easier as there's a little thin strip of plastic that pulls off and I just pull a wipe out and then seal it again. The strip sticks back down securely, preventing the pads from drying out.
The pads themselves are around the same size as an average cotton pad - they're a decent size and as they're thick I am able to use both sides of each pad. The pads are white meaning that any mascara and eyeliner that's been removed shows up easily which I find handy as I am able to glace at the pad half way through using it to see if I've got nost of the make-up off.
The pads don't smell of much unlike the make-up remover that I use to remove my foundation, but I don't mind this as it re-assures me that there's no perfume or nasty chemicals in the ingredients. The pads are moist but not completely drenched and when I rub the pads over my skin the liquid doesn't ooze out. After using them my skin does feel a little moist but they don't dry out or irritate my skin at all.
I use these after using my usual make-up remover to remove my foundation and I use these purely to remove my eye make-up so that the pack lasts longer. It takes 2-3 pads to get rid of a few coats of waterproof mascara and eyeliner and I don't need to rub it against my eyes or anything - a few gentle wipes does the job. These are really effective at getting every last bit of make-up off and even when I use them right near my waterline (the bottom of my eyelid) they don't sting. My eyes are never sore or red after using these and they're very made from durable cotton - they don't break apart or anything while I am using them.
Overall I highly recommend these wipes. They're a little pricey but definitely worth every penny - five out of five stars.
Summary: 5/5
