Advantages: Cheap, cheap, cheap
Disadvantages: some may not like the sparkle, only available at selected superdrugs
I've become a bit of a you tube addict over the past few months and all the beauty gurus have raved about sleek eyeshadow palettes. They say they are pigmented, long lasting and generally great quality for the price. I have hunted high and low for these and finally found them. Sleek itself raves that their makeup suits all skin tones.
So why the difficulty finding them?
Sleek is sold at selected Superdrugs. As i live in a fairly small town my little superdrug didn't have them and a few others i visited didn't have them either. Finally after a visit to the Trafford centre i got them at the superdrug in there. Sleek have their own website which is under construction and there is a 'shop' heading so they may be soon available to buy online there.
How much?
The palettes cost £4.87 and you get an amazing 12 eyeshadows in the palettes. I chose the 'original' palette, there were a couple of others (chaos and storm) but i found the colours in them to be less varied and a little dark. The original comes with a seelection of blues, purples, golds, and bronzes. You get a little, pretty useless applicator which is standard with most palettes like this.
What i think?
The eyeshadows are amazingly good quality. They go on smoothly and without any dragging of the eyelid. The colours are super vibrant and really do last. I apply all my shadows with urban decay primer potion first and i know that helps with the staying power, however i tried without and these were great too. Without the primer they did crease after a while but i think this is because the shadows are quite soft and almost creamy, whilst still being a powder shadow. The thing i need to mention is that these are ALL shimmers. I love anything sparkley and the brighter the better, however there is a limit sometimes. I don't usually wear too much shimmer to work, so for me these are a little OTT for day wear. They do look amazing at night though. The shimmer is picked up by lights and really sparkles. The selection of colours was great, something for practically every look i wanted to do. I wear contacts and have fairly sensitive eyes but this didn't at all irritate me. In fact i am really impressed. I swatched the colours on my hands whilst having a coffee at Trafford and loved them so much i went back and got a palette for my sister. Testimony enough!
Summary: Great quality and for the price amazing!
