Advantages: Cheap, well pigmented and long lasting

Disadvantages: None

I have quite thick eyebrows and get them threaded to keep them in the best shape possible. I fill them in whenever I'm going somewhere special such as a club or party as I think it looks really nice as it defines my brows and makes them look pretty much flawless. I don't draw my brows on or make them look bigger, I simply fill them in to define the shape of them. I have dark brown hair and dark brown eyebrows and up until recently I'd been using a black brow pencil as I liked the contrast, but as big, thick dark brows are slowly fading out of fashion I've recently decided to tone it down a bit which is why I decided to buy the sleek eyebrow pencil in shade 191 which is a dark shade of chocolate brown.

A black version is also available and as far as I know these are the only two available shades. I bought this from Amazon and paid £1.60, which I think is incredibly cheap for a branded eyeliner, and as Sleek is a brand that I am familiar with I knew that I wasn't buying some cheap unbranded tat. The eyebrow pencil also available from a range of other online retailers and I think Superdrug sell Sleek products too so they will probably sell this. The RRP (taken from the official Sleek website) is £1.99, making this the ideal brow pencil for anyone who is on a budget or doesn't want to pay over the odds. Although this is marketed as an eyebrow pencil, I also use it as an eyeliner and it looks great - it's very pigmented and it's long lasting, so this is basically a two-in-one product; not bad for under £2.00!

The pencil is average in appearence; it's the same length and thickness as most eyeliners and it is dark brown. The sleek logo is written on the side, along with the product name and shade number. The nib is sharp and pointed making application that bit more accurate and the pencil comes with a lid which is handy as this protects the nib when it's in my make-up bag. The nib is waxy and very sturdy; it doesn't give way and blob up when pressed against my skin. I use this on my waterline and it's accurate enough to do a cat eye, although as I have this in brown I don't use it for this. The texture is lovely and creamy and the nib glides along my waterline; it doesn't drag at all and it gives a nice even finish.

This is easy to smudge and blend for a smoky eye due to the creamy texture, but it doesn't smudge unless you deliberately smudge it. This defines my eyes and as the colour is very intense it makes the colour of my iris' pop out and the whites of my eyes appear brighter. Using this as an eyebrow pencil is just as simple. I work my way over my brows from the outside to the inner edges and fill them in, making sure that I don't apply any pressure to the pencil. The difference is instantly noticeable and my eyebrows are a much more intense colour as well as more defined. I only fill in my brows when I wear heavy make-up eg on nights out as in my opinion it is a little too over the top for everyday wear.

The brow pencil is very long lasting and it needs to be removed with cleanser or face wipes. It is not waterproof, but I've never had issues with it melting off when I've been in a jam-packed, boiling hot club! Overall, highly recommended. Brilliant longevity, well pigmented and very cheap - 5/5.
