Sleek lipsticks are packaged in cute little black boxes which gives that high end feel. I love the way the lipstick itself are packaged, I like the fact that it is plain black, it creates a sort of sophisticated feeling. I purchased a sleek lipstick in the colour mystic. I adore the colour, it is vibrant and bright and exactly what I was looking for. I've been looking for a purple, affordable lipstick and this is by far one of the best ones I have purchased. It is long lasting, I literally don't have to top it up every hour which I usually find with the majority of lipsticks I own. The overall finish is a matte look which I think is flattering, however it does cling to dry skin so I would recommend exfoliating ops before applying. It is quite a dry texture, but nothing a lip gloss can't fix - by adding gloss it gives your lips a high shine finish. Overall I would definitely recommend sleek lipsticks. High quality, affordable lipstick!
When it comes to what make up I use, of late I have become a bit of a stickler. I tend to use mostly Max Factor, Dainty Doll By Nicola Roberts and then for eye make up I like the Sleek eye palettes (particularly for evening wear). Rarely now at 39 do I deviate from those brands simply because I like the quality of them and know what suits me best.
However I do have to be careful not get stuck in a rut so occasionally I do break out. Due to owning masses of make up though recently I have tried to have a huge run down of what I own so I had the excuse of updating my collection.
With going out a fair bit lately due to dating I decided it was high time to get a couple of new lipsticks. I did look at what my usual brands had to offer mainly on Amazon really and nothing stuck out so whilst I was in Boots a couple of weeks back I browsed their make up stands and took a look at this brand mainly due to my love of their eye make up. At £4.99 per lipstick I didn't think that was a very high price tag and so treated myself and the colour option that I chose was 'Heartbreaker' which is a very rich and a fairly bright fuchsia colour....a bit different for me as I usually go very dark reds and purple shades but this I had in mind for a softer and more subtle look.
The tube this comes in is black plastic and to use the lipstick you simply twist it as you would most lipsticks in a tube and it has a lid that securely fits over the colour and pulls off easily enough. On the base of it we are told what it is and who it is by. Its a simple to look at lipstick and looks high quality and feels it too.
The Lipstick Itself:
You can of course apply this straight from the tube, with a brush, using a lip liner....really any way you want to. Personally I just apply this straight from the tube cos I'm lazy! This goes on smoothly and quite thickly. It doesn't have a scent to it and doesn't feel sticky and it kind of dries into the lips. The colour is highly pigmented and is a great shade of pink and once applied I find I get about 3 hours wear from it before it simply fades off. I can eat and drink with this on well enough but then I do apply, blot, reapply and blot it to get the colour to sink into my lips and to try to get it to stay in place but I do find with kissing too much it does come off but again in a fading way opposed to me and my fella getting covered in it!
I think this is a great quality and not sheer lipstick and I'm so pleased with it I will be repurchasing more of them and with 21 colours in the range its not like I'm going to get bored anytime soon!
Thumbs up from me, I love my lippy!
Available from Boots stores and Google if interested for a list of stockists!

I have been trying to buy this is the shade Frenzy for a very long time, after it selling out online and then not being able to find it anywhere I decided to buy this in shade Mystic instead. Here were my thoughts.
This comes in a small black box with the name if the colours on there and swabs if the lipstick colour. There is the slick logo on here on the top and sides. Inside the box there is the lipstick on a oval shaped tube, this is matte black with the sleek name in gloss on the lid there is also a sticker with the colour on there too.
This packaging looks very classic and is also of great quality this makes it look much more expensive than it is, which is always good.
The colour here is gorgeous it is a really bright purple and it slides so easily on the lips. The lipstick isn't as thick as others I have tried and so I don't go over my lip line. This is buyer moisturising and goes onto the lips very easily, and this does not show any of the dryness. The colour is very easy to build but just one layer is really enough to create a full lip look. I have recently lost my lipcote and have yet to repurchase it therefore I have had to use this without any topcoat. The big surprise here is that it lasts all day without being reapplied and I can actually eat meals and drink with this on.
I am very impressed with this.
Price and Availability
This can be bought from Superdrug stores and also the Sleek online store this is also available at a number of other places. It retails for just £4.99 which for this packaging and amazing lipstick is great value. I will be buying. More colours.
I love lipstick for its transformative qualities - one slick of lipstick can change an outfit and sometimes change the attitude of the wearer. Elizabeth Taylors famous quote "Pour yourself a drink, put on some lipstick and pull yourself together" illustrates the sobering and enlivening power that lipstick has!
In the past I have tended to be a little bit of a lipstick snob and I tended to go for higher end lipsticks such as Dior, Chanel and the beauty junkies favourite MAC. However, the high street seems to have woken up and have come out with some comparable if not surpassble lipstick formulas and colours. As I am always on the lookout for great, one off colours to add to my collection it was with joy that I came across the Sleek range of make- up in Superdrug at the start of the year.
I had never heard of Sleek and as I am seldom in Superdrug (I live in Boots if you read any of my other reviews) I had never come across them before. They are known for their make-up palettes - blush, eye shadow, bronzers, contouring, eye brow sets - they are all about the palettes! It is also a relatively affordable range and comes in plain black minimalist packaging. The lipsticks in particular caught my eye and I picked up Cherry and Fuchsia.
Cherry - a deep wine red which is a great berry winter lip in the winter or works well as a wash for lighter Summer nights.
Fuchsia - A mid tone pink which tends towards the blue side - would look great worn with a matte base and minimal eye make-up.
As I have outlined the colours themselves are vivid and opaque although you can use them as a wash by mixing the with a lip balm. Both the colours I bought make for a great statement lip and Sleeks colour range in general is bold - expect lots of blazing reds and deep pinks!
The formula of the lipsticks is lovely and moisturising and they are very forgiving on the lips. They also have great staying power lasting around 4 - 5 hours on me. I was really impressed with the quality of the lipsticks and in fact they have made me abandon my higher end lipsticks in favour of these!
I highly recommend this line of lipsticks and I shall definitely be purchasing more. The lipsticks retail at £4.99 which for a lipstick which in my eyes is comparable to MAC or any high end lipstick is a great deal!
